Manny lost his family to the humans, and the human lost his wife too, and probably thinks he lost his child as well. So Manny's decision to either save the baby or let him die for revenge is pretty interesting. I could also talk about the baby and Diego relation, but I'm too lazy

The funniest thing about Brooke is the fact that there are several deleted scenes of Sid having a love interest in the first movie called Sylvia. The fact that the producers of the first Ice Age realised that Sid having a love interest wouldn't work only emphasises the uselessness and detraction that Brooke presents
Well there was gonna be a scene where one of the Female Sloths kicks Sid in the Groin. The scene was deleted because it could’ve got the film a PG-13 rating. Wow.
I am indeed aware about Sylvia from the first film, she desperately wants to mate with Sid despite him not retaining the same feelings for her, throughout the film he wouldn't come up with ways to escape her clutches but in the end Sid would end up mating with Sylvia anyway(I read this from the official Wikipedia page) From what the Wikipedia page said these scenes were removed because the filmmakers believed that it would make Sid unlikable, on top of the fact that Sylvia had no relevance to the film.
I also don't understand, why the baby is that hated. Actualy, i just wondering, why the sequels forget about the humans, the animals feared so in the first movie. The tragic thing: The last words, Sid sayd to the baby was: "Don't forget us." Now, he probably forget the baby himself.
As someone who's seen all but Collision Course, I gotta agree that there have been way worse characters than the baby from the first film. Really, the only crime the kid committed wasn't even his fault: We never got to see how the kid would end up when he grew older. Wouldn't that have made for a better Ice Age sequel? Think about it; this could take place years later, maybe have our main 3 characters be wiser than they were in the first film. Hell, maybe have some of the villains from the first film come back to enact revenge for Soto's death! The kid grows up, maybe even surpasses his dad, and his experiences with Manny, Sid and Diego may even save their lives near the climax! But *sigh* what could've been, what could've been...
That would have made for a better Ice Age sequel! Then again, at least we can take solace in knowing that the animators over at Blue Sky Studios are done with the Ice Age franchise at this juncture.

The baby is the most non-annoying character of the Ice Age franchise, because only he never appeared in the sequels, where everyone else ruined their reputation and became annoying.
Facts, maybe the sequels wouldn't have been so bad if it was about the baby gradually growing up throughout the series, learning more about both himself and the world, and telling stories of his adventure with Manny and the gang to others. This is just me but in my opinion that would be a much better sequel than the ones we got.

Personally I had no issue with Crash and Eddie in the first two sequels, since their jokes actually had some charm and the chemistry they had with Ellie and Buck kind of justifyed their existence. But by the time *Continental Drift* came around, the jokes had worn out their welcome.
I agree, crash and Eddie were still kinda annoying in the second and third movie but they did have a couple of laughs here and there, but by collision course I wanted to do nothing more than Peck their brains out!

Scratte really isn't a bad edition. I see her as an interesting foil to Scrat. She uses her beauty to overpower him. And she's also much more capable of getting the acorn. Of course they're romance was adorable for the remainder of the film. Even in the end, Scrat used her charm against her. So she wasn't a waste! 🐿🖤🐿
In a way, when you put it like that, she's like a modern day female version of Pepé Le Pew. Of course, the difference is Pepé used his charm to be with Penelope, whereas Scratte used her charm to effectively con the acorn out of Scrat. But you can see similarities in that sense. Heck, I wouldn't mind betting that if she stayed around she would have gone full on manipulative. (Which then would justify her place on this list. So probably best that didn't happen.)
I honestly would've put Brooke lower on the list. At least Shira didn't look completely forced and she did do a couple of things to help (although I guess her presence was not really necessary). Also, the first time I saw the movie I did not really have issues with her. Brooke on the other hand was something completely forced. She was one of Collision Course's promotional points, the "Sid finally gets a girlfriend!" thing about the movie, and in the end all she did was appear in the last third of the movie and fall in love with Sid the moment she saw him, and that's it. At the very least they could have replaced the llama with her and turned her into the leader of the animals living in those crystals (that is, without giving her the attributes of the llama, instead just the fact that she would hesitate about using the crystals at first and then accept that it had to be done)
Memes are supposed to be funny but the jokes are rather subjective. Killing the Ice Age Baby was meant to be a joke based on the "pre-existing characters turning into baby" trend which it started with Baby Yoda, the one who revived the trend. For Roshan (the Baby in the movie), he's already a baby that existed in the movie and has nothing to do with the trend. Roshan wasn't even a grown character that turned into a baby because he was already a baby since the Eskimo mother gave birth to him.
Yeah, I never even considered this baby remotely ugly. There's only one baby I consider ugly and that's the one from Tin Toy, and even then I felt sorry for him when he cried, cuz being ugly doesn't change the fact that he's a BABY. I'm aware that this is a meme tho. XD

Group of animals team up with dinosaur hunting weasel who is back now to save the world. There is a utopian paradise place filled with crystals that make the citizens immortal. There's a wedding going on because mammoths get married. Neil Degrasse Tyson is in this movie playing somebody's hallucination
Mr.Plague Call me insane, but I loved the 4th movie when I was younger. The 5th movie was insane and it didn’t make any sense (it’s super forgetable, too).
I think it works much better as a trilogy. I don’t hate Continental Drift as much as most but Collision Course made me lose all sanity for the franchise

Honestly Julian pissed me off more than anyone on the list. Peaches already had a fine love interest candidate with Louis. His inclusion was pointless, and beyond that his personality was annoying and he brought one of the most cliche stories to the franchise with him dragging the entire Manny family down with him. So really he negatively impacted FOUR characters, even removing one from a possible main cast status. That's more damage than anyone else in the series.
Louis actually appeared in Collision Course but just for a few seconds. He’s seen with some other Animals drinking Coconut Juice before Manfred snatches it away!
I agree, while he wasn't the best character in the franchise, him and peaches did have a good relationship setup and despite it's being interspecies it's still could make for a cute and earned couple. But no instead we get Johnny from hotel Transylvania in a woolly mammoth body.
Julian is the worst character because he’s just every future son-in-law cliche done to death. That, and that hedgehog fella had more of a connection with Peaches previously.

Louis was a great love interest for peaches, the only reason they didn't use him in the 5th movie because his voice actor( Josh gad) was currently working on the angry birds movie
Nobody ever talks about cretaceous and maelstrom, the two sea monsters from the meltdown, they may not be that exciting, but they're my favorite villains in the movies cause they actually act like animals

Is it odd that I actually loved Shira when Ice Age 4 came out? I thought she was badass, sassy, and honestly, I didn’t care if she was a love interest for Diego. Diego obviously didn’t deserve love as much as Manny deserved it, but I believed him and Shira would be good together. They’re not a lovey-dovey cliche couple, and tbh (I haven’t watched the movie in a long time, forgive me if I’m wrong), they’re more of a partner-in-crime couple. They don’t flirt with each other, they’re kinda just there for each other. They’re both fierce and badass, and that’s why I loved Shira. Her personality, her appearance, and possibly more things that I’m not thinking of at the moment. I really wish she had a better purpose than to be Diego’s love interest, and I wish she had a more important role in these movies. Sorry for the paragraph. Forgive me if my facts are wrong!

I liked her too cause In my mind They’re both pack animals and even though they left their packs they both found a herd (using that lightly for the pirates but still) since they needed some kind of social group. So going to be in a group with someone else who can relate with being a saber was a nice concept. Just really poorly executed since she didn’t have anything else after continental drift
I liked her to but I do think her arch could have been done better. What if there was the scene of her getting mistreated by Gutt before the first iceberg (a.k.a the first pirate ship) sank, and scene where she thinks to herself after the talk she and Diego have, that would have made her arch more believable. But as is her arch was still good and wholesome.
I actually really like scratette but they ruined her near the end in my opinion when she was revealed to actually be bossy, also her design is beautiful and the fact she can glide

But Crash and Eddie got way more insufferable with Continental Drift and Collission Course compared to The Meltdown and Dawn of the Dinosaurs. At least they had good chemistries with Ellie and Buck respectively, which I found charming.

I can agree, in The Meltdown and Dawn of the Dinosaurs, they were at least enjoyable to watch. In Continental Drifts, bc the movie had so many characters, they were just there and were used as gags. Collision Course made them really insufferable, it was like crew behind the movie remembered that in the 4th one they were barely in the movie and since 5th is the last one, they decided to go all out with them
As much as I enjoy Shira and Brooke, they weren’t really necessary. Sid and Diego really didn’t need girlfriends cuz it didn’t make sense and wasn’t important to the story or their characters growth
marianne mccrank plus Shira and Brooke just felt forced while Ellie was paced perfectly, cuz she relates to Manny’s internal struggle as to reforming a family and she helps him through it. Shira is just your typical bad boy/girl who later turns good after falling in love with one of the main characters Brooke is just your happy person who doesn’t hate idiots(or something like that).
My problem with Shira, other than having no personality whatsoever is that she’s just not funny. She never does or says anything remotely funny at all, and Brooke is just a female version of Sid except dumber.
The two sea creatures in the second film are my favorite ice age villains(despite that they have a small role in the movie). I just like the concept of the antagonists being sea creatures.
P&Wfan 2004 Agree, Soto and his pack(even though they were going to eat Manny and Sid) they just mainly wanted the baby, Rudy was just Moby Dick but a dinosaur, The pirates were just forced, and the Dino birds were mostly after Buck. While Cretaceous and Maelstrom didn’t have no grudge against the main characters, they were just predators seeking out food.

Same, I liked the cool designs of the pirates and how they use their strengths together in battle to take down their enemies, and Gutt was a genuinely threatening villain simply because he can somehow swing around an adult bull mammoth like a sack of potatoes.
To be fair, Animat was specifically talking about Buck in Collision Course when he brings him up as one of the most intolerable characters in the whole franchise, not Dawn of the Dinosaurs, he even mentions how Buck is quite likeable in Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I haven't watched Collision Course for myself (i may watch it at some point, but only if i get in a "i really wanna watch something awful" mood like i did when i saw Foodfight) but i've heard he was butchered beyond belief in that film.

Crash and Eddie were used sparingly in Ice Age 3. They even volunteered to save Sid in the 3rd film and it's been established in that film and the second that they do care for their adopted sister. But aside from that, they can be annoying.
In the 4th one he finally sees his family and then they abandon him again, and this time, to rub salt in the wounds, they also abandon his grandma in his face, making it even clearer to him that neither he or his grandma are loved by their family. Seriously, after Manny, Sid is the most tragic character.
I mean, if Sid was able to be the comic relief of the first film and do it well, then the sequels would have never needed a surplus amount of unnecessary comic reliefs, especially ones that were as terrible as Crash and Eddie. With better writing and better character development, Sid could have been an awesome comic relief with a lot of depth to himself.

I actually enjoyed the baby. He’s kind of cute. Also, some of the scenes with the baby are heartwarming in the first Ice Age film. I think the baby is one of the most tolerable characters in the Ice Age franchise considering that there are so many annoying characters in the franchise including Crash and Eddie.

I think Sid became unlikeable after the 3rd movie, not after the first movie. I liked him in The Meltdown and Dawn of the DInosaurs, especially in the latter, given how everybody else treated him.
Cintrón Productions and Dakodaraptor couldn’t fly, it’s a close to Velociraptor (although they have a gliding relative with wings on its legs called Microraptor), but they were related to the birds.

I just stopped after Dawn of the Dinosaur, as afterwards the franchise was starting to become a cash grab. And it wasn’t just Continental drift and Collision course but also the Christmas and Easter specials that were only meant to promote the two movies respectively

the "popular" group from continental drift should've been on this list instead of scrat's girlfriend. peaches' "teenage girl trying to fit in" subplot was completely unnecessary to the story of the movie and is the most cliche trope you could find for a character like her.
I agree with you so much! Those "popular" mammoths were very annoying and cliched. Scrat's "girlfriend" aka Scratte is one of my favorite characters in Ice Age franchise.
Yeah, I agree. Felt kinda wrong for him to do that. Scratte was a pretty tolerable character because she was a Red Herring. Instead of being a generic love interest, she was a cunning rival that kept Scrat on his toes. And even when they actually got together, it still didn’t end well for either of them in the end.
A part of me didn't want to believe this was made, but there is definitely a point in why it was. Like the jokes and memes are just that in it of themselves, jokes. But there are absolutely some characters in the Ice Age Franchise who deserve to have this hatred towards them more than the baby.

To be honest, I grew up with the Ice Age movies, and I can safely say that I never found the baby annoying at all. In fact, much like Boo from Monsters Inc., he served huge purpose in the first Ice Age, and was part of what made it quite an enjoyable movie in my view. Especially his relationship with the Ice Age trio, and how he learned much from them. Such as being able to walk for the first time. You're absolutely right btw. Many of the characters on this list definitely deserve to be ridiculed and bombarded with Caillou-level hate memes so much more than Roshan (which was what the baby was originally called in the making of Ice Age btw).
The next (and final) sequel should bring back the baby as a ripped adult. Seeing Manny, Sid, and Diego remembering them and smiling before killing them and their whole gang for his tribe. The movie ends with the humans eating the cooked gang and using their pelt as clothes and such.
If they ever decide to make an Ice Age 6 one day, there are 3 things that I could think of to improve it: #1. Have the character roster greatly reduced #2. Make the film a lot less juvenile and absurd #3. Any new characters that would introduced in Film #6 anyway be very few and actually serve a purpose to the film

@@nickytembo4112 I've heard about the news of Disney closing Blue Sky Studios on the day they announced that, but I still feel like Disney will still continue the Ice Age franchise anyway without Blue Sky Studios, with Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (which even if it's a spin-off film, is still going to be the sixth Ice Age movie overall anyway) is going to come out on Disney+ next year. I'm pretty sure that Disney might treat the Ice Age franchise the same way Warner Bros. has with the Scooby-Doo franchise where they still continued the franchise long after Hanna-Barbera shut down, with Hanna-Barbera remaining as an in-name only unit for Warner Bros. Animation whenever they release new projects with either Scooby-Doo or other Hanna-Barbera characters. Might be the same for Ice Age with Blue Sky Studios existing as an in-name only unit for Disney & 20th Century Animation whenever it comes to new projects with the Ice Age franchise. Seeing how abusively mean spirited TOWARDS A BABY, really says something about humanity and what's really at the core of it! Seriously, this is the cartoon definition of evil, one of the things you make a character do to shove it down the audience's throat that this character is evil, have them be abusive to a baby, AND CASUAL, EVERYDAY PEOPLE ARE DOING THIS!
Here's something that you would get to know me but actually, I find the dinobirds funny whence they DO have their moment. Yes, they were characters that were out of place for the tone of the franchise, however on their own, at least they did supply some gags such as one instance in which Roger had caught of what he thinks is Buck, but actually Granny and whence Granny woke up, she thinks that the dinobirds, whom have kidnapped her, were angels and when the father of the dinobirds have "ate" her, she's still alive and did a ridiculously funny gag that my father and I got at least a hearty chuckle.
Another thing that I ought to mention is my interpretation of Crash and Eddie. Instead of making them the substitute for Sid, why not make them based on the famous silent comedy duo, Stan and Ollie. For Crash, make him a free spirited daredevil with a good heart whilst Eddie is the straight man and the worrisome one whom is concerned for Ellie's safety. In other words, instead of the comedy depending on Crash and Eddie's stupidity, have the comedy depend on their conflicting personalities. All that we shall do now is wait for a fanfiction in which is were fixed scripts for Ice Age 2 and 3
Dream Master actually to me, Ice Age 2 and 3 weren’t that bad, they were at least okay, but Ice Age 3 ended on a perfect note of conclusion. Ice Age 3 is where they franchise should’ve ended
I think the only things that crash and Eddie did that was helpful for the plot was going to get help while Ellie was trapped in the cave, and helping Buck rescue Sid with the Pterodactyl
As well as a Land Before Time sequel, the Dino Birds also look like they belong in the Good Dinosaur, stylistically. Maybe they took elements from the verbal villains from the Land Before Time sequels to create them, unless this is purely a coincidence.

@@NicoEdgy again, the cute baby trope is only bad if it's just for merchandise. The Baby in Ice Age actually makes for a pretty good parallel between Mannfred and the human. Manny lost his family to the humans, and the human lost his wife too, and probably thinks he lost his child as well. So Manny's decision to either save the baby or let him die for revenge is pretty interesting. I could also talk about the baby and Diego relation, but I'm too lazy
Remember when, in the first film, Sid confessed that his family tied him up, gagged him with a field mouse, then went through water so that he'd lose their scent. They were always intended to be horrible people.

The funniest thing about Brooke is the fact that there are several deleted scenes of Sid having a love interest in the first movie called Sylvia. The fact that the producers of the first Ice Age realised that Sid having a love interest wouldn't work only emphasises the uselessness and detraction that Brooke presents
Well there was gonna be a scene where one of the Female Sloths kicks Sid in the Groin. The scene was deleted because it could’ve got the film a PG-13 rating. Wow.
I am indeed aware about Sylvia from the first film, she desperately wants to mate with Sid despite him not retaining the same feelings for her, throughout the film he wouldn't come up with ways to escape her clutches but in the end Sid would end up mating with Sylvia anyway(I read this from the official Wikipedia page) From what the Wikipedia page said these scenes were removed because the filmmakers believed that it would make Sid unlikable, on top of the fact that Sylvia had no relevance to the film.

The second film is called the meltdown and the first film is vastly more like an actual "ice age" then films 3 onward.
As someone who's seen all but Collision Course, I gotta agree that there have been way worse characters than the baby from the first film. Really, the only crime the kid committed wasn't even his fault: We never got to see how the kid would end up when he grew older. Wouldn't that have made for a better Ice Age sequel?
Think about it; this could take place years later, maybe have our main 3 characters be wiser than they were in the first film. Hell, maybe have some of the villains from the first film come back to enact revenge for Soto's death! The kid grows up, maybe even surpasses his dad, and his experiences with Manny, Sid and Diego may even save their lives near the climax!
But *sigh* what could've been, what could've been...
That would have made for a better Ice Age sequel! Then again, at least we can take solace in knowing that the animators over at Blue Sky Studios are done with the Ice Age franchise at this juncture.

Facts, maybe the sequels wouldn't have been so bad if it was about the baby gradually growing up throughout the series, learning more about both himself and the world, and telling stories of his adventure with Manny and the gang to others. Personally I had no issue with Crash and Eddie in the first two sequels, since their jokes actually had some charm and the chemistry they had with Ellie and Buck kind of justifyed their existence. But by the time *Continental Drift* came around, the jokes had worn out their welcome.

Scratte really isn't a bad edition. I see her as an interesting foil to Scrat. She uses her beauty to overpower him. And she's also much more capable of getting the acorn. Of course they're romance was adorable for the remainder of the film. Even in the end, Scrat used her charm against her. So she wasn't a waste! 🐿🖤🐿
In a way, when you put it like that, she's like a modern day female version of Pepé Le Pew.
Of course, the difference is Pepé used his charm to be with Penelope, whereas Scratte used her charm to effectively con the acorn out of Scrat. But you can see similarities in that sense. Heck, I wouldn't mind betting that if she stayed around she would have gone full on manipulative. (Which then would justify her place on this list. So probably best that didn't happen.)
I honestly would've put Brooke lower on the list. At least Shira didn't look completely forced and she did do a couple of things to help (although I guess her presence was not really necessary). Also, the first time I saw the movie I did not really have issues with her. Brooke on the other hand was something completely forced. She was one of Collision Course's promotional points, the "Sid finally gets a girlfriend!" thing about the movie, and in the end all she did was appear in the last third of the movie and fall in love with Sid the moment she saw him, and that's it. At the very least they could have replaced the llama with her and turned her into the leader of the animals living in those crystals (that is, without giving her the attributes of the llama, instead just the fact that she would hesitate about using the crystals at first and then accept that it had to be done)

Killing the Ice Age Baby was meant to be a joke based on the "pre-existing characters turning into baby" trend which it started with Baby Yoda, the one who revived the trend. For Roshan (the Baby in the movie), he's already a baby that existed in the movie and has nothing to do with the trend. Roshan wasn't even a grown character that turned into a baby because he was already a baby since the Eskimo mother gave birth to him.
Yeah, I never even considered this baby remotely ugly. There's only one baby I consider ugly and that's the one from Tin Toy, and even then I felt sorry for him when he cried, cuz being ugly doesn't change the fact that he's a BABY. I'm aware that this is a meme tho. XD

What do I mean? Well, even though buck did save some of the movie and I used to be friends with him, seeing collision course just made me cringe. Buck could have just been in dawn of the dinosaurs and appeared after collision course with the same personality from ice age 3.

Honestly Julian pissed me off more than anyone on the list. Peaches already had a fine love interest candidate with Louis. His inclusion was pointless, and beyond that his personality was annoying and he brought one of the most cliche stories to the franchise with him dragging the entire Manny family down with him.
So really he negatively impacted FOUR characters, even removing one from a possible main cast status. That's more damage than anyone else in the series.

1) Yes, cute characters can get boring if they're just there for merchandise, but the Baby IS an important part of the story, and he (or she) actually makes for good emotional moments. Since Manny lost his family to humans, his choice of letting the kid die or letting him live is actually pretty good, since the human also lost all his family in the movie. And Diego was supposed to get the baby to avenge the fallen saber tooth tigers, but starts to get attached to the baby and Manny and Sid.

Is it odd that I actually loved Shira when Ice Age 4 came out? I thought she was badass, sassy, and honestly, I didn’t care if she was a love interest for Diego. Diego obviously didn’t deserve love as much as Manny deserved it, but I believed him and Shira would be good together. They’re not a lovey-dovey cliche couple, and tbh (I haven’t watched the movie in a long time, forgive me if I’m wrong), they’re more of a partner-in-crime couple. They don’t flirt with each other, they’re kinda just there for each other. They’re both fierce and badass, and that’s why I loved Shira. Her personality, her appearance, and possibly more things that I’m not thinking of at the moment. I really wish she had a better purpose than to be Diego’s love interest, and I wish she had a more important role in these movies.

I liked her too cause In my mind They’re both pack animals and even though they left their packs they both found a herd (using that lightly for the pirates but still) since they needed some kind of social group. So going to be in a group with someone else who can relate with being a saber was a nice concept.

I liked her to but I do think her arch could have been done better. What if there was the scene of her getting mistreated by Gutt before the first iceberg (a.k.a the first pirate ship) sank, and scene where she thinks to herself after the talk she and Diego have, that would have made her arch more believable. But as is her arch was still good and wholesome.

Same, I liked the cool designs of the pirates and how they use their strengths together in battle to take down their enemies, and Gutt was a genuinely threatening villain simply because he can somehow swing around an adult bull mammoth like a sack of potatoes.
To be fair, Animat was specifically talking about Buck in Collision Course when he brings him up as one of the most intolerable characters in the whole franchise, not Dawn of the Dinosaurs, he even mentions how Buck is quite likeable in Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I haven't watched Collision Course for myself (i may watch it at some point, but only if i get in a "i really wanna watch something awful" mood like i did when i saw Foodfight) but i've heard he was butchered beyond belief in that film.

Personally, worst ice age character in my opinion would have to be Sid. He was fine at first, but by the 5th film I was just done with him.
In the 4th one he finally sees his family and then they abandon him again, and this time, to rub salt in the wounds, they also abandon his grandma in his face, making it even clearer to him that neither he or his grandma are loved by their family. Seriously, after Manny, Sid is the most tragic character.
Sid was actually funny in the 1st movie!
I mean, if Sid was able to be the comic relief of the first film and do it well, then the sequels would have never needed a surplus amount of unnecessary comic reliefs, especially ones that were as terrible as Crash and Eddie. With better writing and better character development, Sid could have been an awesome comic relief with a lot of depth to himself.
I liked him in the first three films but once the 4th film rolls around he started to lose all his likeability
@@TheTurbulentINFP In theory, but then you remember the other thing that kids' movies are made for, toys, and Crash and Eddie (or twins in general) make a two for one on that front. Sid could have been a perfect comic relief in the first movie, and we still would have seen more comic reliefs thrown in to make more cheap plastic shlock to throw into a children's meal as a promotional item.
I think the hate for the Baby came from how the dated CG makes it fall into the uncanny valley.

I actually enjoyed the baby. He’s kind of cute. Also, some of the scenes with the baby are heartwarming in the first Ice Age film. I think the baby is one of the most tolerable characters in the Ice Age franchise considering that there are so many annoying characters in the franchise including Crash and Eddie.

I think Sid became unlikeable after the 3rd movie, not after the first movie. I liked him in The Meltdown and Dawn of the DInosaurs, especially in the latter, given how everybody else treated him.

Cintrón Productions and Dakodaraptor couldn’t fly, it’s a close to Velociraptor (although they have a gliding relative with wings on its legs called Microraptor), but they were related to the birds.

I just stopped after Dawn of the Dinosaur, as afterwards the franchise was starting to become a cash grab. And it wasn’t just Continental drift and Collision course but also the Christmas and Easter specials that were only meant to promote the two movies respectively

I personally like Scratte, and I don't mind...Shira, the hydraxes...and Sid in the sequels, but I agree on Crash and Eddie, Buck in Collision Course, Julian, Sid's family, the Shangri-Llama and Brooke. ...And I just can't believe that someone would make a hate meme about the baby!

the "popular" group from continental drift should've been on this list instead of scrat's girlfriend. peaches' "teenage girl trying to fit in" subplot was completely unnecessary to the story of the movie and is the most cliche trope you could find for a character like her.
I agree with you so much! Those "popular" mammoths were very annoying and cliched. Scrat's "girlfriend" aka Scratte is one of my favorite characters in Ice Age franchise.

Yeah, I agree. Felt kinda wrong for him to do that. Scratte was a pretty tolerable character because she was a Red Herring. Instead of being a generic love interest, she was a cunning rival that kept Scrat on his toes. And even when they actually got together, it still didn’t end well for either of them in the end.
A part of me didn't want to believe this was made, but there is definitely a point in why it was.
Like the jokes and memes are just that in it of themselves, jokes. But there are absolutely some characters in the Ice Age Franchise who deserve to have this hatred towards them more than the baby.
Scrattie does not belong on this list, she's adorable and the subplot with her and Scrat is hilarious.

To be honest, I grew up with the Ice Age movies, and I can safely say that I never found the baby annoying at all. In fact, much like Boo from Monsters Inc., he served huge purpose in the first Ice Age, and was part of what made it quite an enjoyable movie in my view. Especially his relationship with the Ice Age trio, and how he learned much from them. Such as being able to walk for the first time.
You're absolutely right btw. Many of the characters on this list definitely deserve to be ridiculed and bombarded with Caillou-level hate memes so much more than Roshan (which was what the baby was originally called in the making of Ice Age btw).

The next (and final) sequel should bring back the baby as a ripped adult. Seeing Manny, Sid, and Diego remembering them and smiling before killing them and their whole gang for his tribe. The movie ends with the humans eating the cooked gang and using their pelt as clothes and such.

If they ever decide to make an Ice Age 6 one day, there are 3 things that I could think of to improve it:
#1. Have the character roster greatly reduced
#2. Make the film a lot less juvenile and absurd
#3. Any new characters that would introduced in Film #6 anyway be very few and actually serve a purpose to the film

@@nickytembo4112 I've heard about the news of Disney closing Blue Sky Studios on the day they announced that, but I still feel like Disney will still continue the Ice Age franchise anyway without Blue Sky Studios, with Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (which even if it's a spin-off film, is still going to be the sixth Ice Age movie overall anyway) is going to come out on Disney+ next year. I'm pretty sure that Disney might treat the Ice Age franchise the same way Warner Bros. has with the Scooby-Doo franchise where they still continued the franchise long after Hanna-Barbera shut down, with Hanna-Barbera remaining as an in-name only unit for Warner Bros. Animation whenever they release new projects with either Scooby-Doo or other Hanna-Barbera characters. Might be the same for Ice Age with Blue Sky Studios existing as an in-name only unit for Disney & 20th Century Animation whenever it comes to new projects with the Ice Age franchise. What do you think?

Seeing how abusively mean spirited TOWARDS A BABY, really says something about humanity and what's really at the core of it! Seriously, this is the cartoon definition of evil, one of the things you make a character do to shove it down the audience's throat that this character is evil, have them be abusive to a baby, AND CASUAL, EVERYDAY PEOPLE ARE DOING THIS!

C'mon AniMat, Rudy in the third film has to be arguably one of the most intimidating villain that I have ever seen.
Personally, I find Rudy and those prehistoric fishes from the Meltdown more memorable than those 3 dinobirds from a cancelled Land Before Time sequel.
Here's something that you would get to know me but actually, I find the dinobirds funny whence they DO have their moment. Yes, they were characters that were out of place for the tone of the franchise, however on their own, at least they did supply some gags such as one instance in which Roger had caught of what he thinks is Buck, but actually Granny and whence Granny woke up, she thinks that the dinobirds, whom have kidnapped her, were angels and when the father of the dinobirds have "ate" her, she's still alive and did a ridiculously funny gag that my father and I got at least a hearty chuckle.
Another thing that I ought to mention is my interpretation of Crash and Eddie. Instead of making them the substitute for Sid, why not make them based on the famous silent comedy duo, Stan and Ollie. For Crash, make him a free spirited daredevil with a good heart whilst Eddie is the straight man and the worrisome one whom is concerned for Ellie's safety. In other words, instead of the comedy depending on Crash and Eddie's stupidity, have the comedy depend on their conflicting personalities. All that we shall do now is wait for a fanfiction in which is were fixed scripts for Ice Age 2 and 3

I think the only things that crash and Eddie did that was helpful for the plot was going to get help while Ellie was trapped in the cave, and helping Buck rescue Sid with the Pterodactyl

As well as a Land Before Time sequel, the Dino Birds also look like they belong in the Good Dinosaur, stylistically. Maybe they took elements from the verbal villains from the Land Before Time sequels to create them, unless this is purely a coincidence.
Did you know birds are dinosaurs so technically dinosaurs are still alive today. Pterodactyl isn’t a dinosaur but it is a close relative.
