I haven’t been this hooked to a SAO game since Fatal Bullet. Assuming Dimps nails the landing and post launch this could possibly be the best SAO game yet.
I honestly can’t wait to play and grind this game out with my gaming partner. Been waiting for a sao game for awhile and this will definitely be a chill game to play while taking a break from ngs every now and then.
Yeah i really wanted a CaC. Its mostly copium but they could very much just put a CaC in for multiplayer only let you pick thier weapon and have it match the character that uses that weapon. even on the character select screen you would have to even include the CaC just make them like an alt skin to the weapon you selected for them and bam everything stays the same. Like i said Copium but we are 100% with ya dude
I personally found Alicization Lycoris to be a good game. The base campaign was fairly good and the raids were fun as well. Some of the added content before the DLCs went full on were nice, but were more fleshing out the setting. The DLCs added quite a bit to the setting, but I will admit that they weren't like Fatal Bullet or Hollow Realization's, which were awesome. I still found the game to be a good one. Not as good as it could have been, but still a good one. Then again, both Fatal Bullet and Hollow Realization are hard games to top. Fatal Bullet for being just so fun, and it did have a good story. And better yet, you weren't playing as Kirito, which was its greatest selling point. Hollow Realization had the best story of the gamesverse stories, by far. Not to mention some very solid gameplay once you got the hang of the mechanics. Last Recollection was the letdown in my book. It had a solid story, but the is was something that would have worked better as a DLC for Alicization Lycoris in my book. Not bad, but not something that really pulled me in. It had a lot of potential, don't get me wrong, but it didn't really utilize that potential properly. On the other hand, it was a good way to tie up the Underworld storyline. I did say it had a good story, after all. Well, enough of that. I missed doing this event, had things to do that were more important, not to mention needing to sleep. The game was already pre-ordered by me, and it looks fun and interesting. Maybe I will be doing this alongside PSO2.
every SAO game devolved into stacking a million buffs and 1-3 shotting the target or globaling them in 10 seconds or less. while cool it gets very very old and its what killed my fun in AL
A shame that I only played it for a few hours yesterday (as 2 reasons, one... at first I wasn't interested, and 2... I had no idea there was a Beta to test the game... something I noticed while watching Skull's stream the Saturday, as before going to sleep I downloaded the Beta and completed the tutorial on my Switch, and the Sunday... well, you know how it went) but I'm glad I gave a try to the game, as watching people like you and Skulls made me take the jump and... from "I'm not interested" it became "I have to get it, it's sooooo fun!!!", not to mention that the time we played together Sunday's night was fun and made me want to revisit Fatal Bullet and finish my bussiness with the earlier games like Lost Song (which I haven't played yet at all... same with the Alicization games) and Hollow Fragment (which I'm close to beating it).
Honestly I'm so torn with this I definitely like the game and will buy it for sure but I wonder if I should wait for a discount first since Sparking zero will release a week later and I KNOW that game will eat up all my free time lol
Could I get confirmation of how the boss cosmetic drops work? I killed the Kobold over 50 times and I never saw anything. Is it first to pick it up like how everyone rushes for the drops or is it an instance where it will only show to the player who got lucky? I really wanted the hat and was getting so sad and confused seeing like 10 ppl in a lobby with it when I had grinded almost 3 characters level 30 killing the boss and not seen anything
Oh nvm, I just saw from your livestream vod the moment that you got it. That's crazy you got it first time playing co-op and I didn't get it in two days of grinding and idk how many kills. The drop is a physical drop from the boss. You picked it up and it looks like a legendary but is more shiny and gold in colour. Idk if other ppl can steal it or see it tho but you got to it first out of the team there.
Maybe because you were not the mvp or s rank team, if you are way less dmg than the other players obviously your drops and exp will be worse than theirs, otherwise it would be unfair ^^
This game has potential but I don't feel like the price of the game is right especially (knowing bandai) they'll add DLCS half the price of the game with only 1 character each. I will wait for discounts.
I totally agree. If the main gameplay loop is going to be these big multiplayer quests/raids, there needs to be a cheaper entry point. Plus if they are going to add DLC/ a battle pass on top….There are soooo many F2P games out there right now that have people’s attention, I think it’ll be hard for this game to maintain a stable player base for the multiplayer, especially with the $60 base fee. I feel like Bandai thinks the SAO IP can carry it. Not to mention, they haven’t marketed this game very well. I only just heard about it thanks to the TH-cam algorithm. I personally think they should have a $20/$40/$60 tier to make it easier for people to jump in if they are set on having a base fee. (Of course, F2P would be better though)
totally understandable, its hard to want to stomach a full price game but the reality is the current price is actually under current market value of full price games by 10 bucks now. I will say on the plus side content based dlc is all free as of the current roadmaps so if the paid DLC characters were a concern for ya if you dont like em you can skip them risk free
ive hear people say its clunky but everything has felt smooth when you play it like itself and not try to force other game mechanics into it. not spam attacks, pay attention to what the boss is doing, know the difference in a dodge and a block and when to use them and so on. when i first went in it felt rough because i was trying to force the usual spam attacks action gameplay but its actually alot more methodical then i realized it would be but that might not be for everyone.

What’s the point of this game? Can you grind for weapons? Or characters? Or is it just use the same weapon and character over and over again just to be on the damage leaderboard
I guess you can kinda grind for weapons but it’s not like ngs where you grind for a specific weapon series that has a low drop chance. Whenever you complete a mission/raid boss you get new weapons and items that have increased stats kinda like in borderlands and Diablo. As for characters they all start at level zero and you rank them up by completing missions with them which increases their base damage and health and once you fully maxed them out you can apply their passive ability to other characters. The point of the game is to level up your characters and your gear so you can take on harder content. It’s also supposed to have a single player campaign but no idea how long that’s gonna be.
also, golden weapons give a random passive that change how some of your skills works, like being able to charge them, change their element, change the amount of hits / bullets, etc, things like that are some of the few unique things i like from this game
I kinda expected more to be honest. I dont see myself playing this for long. There is no real reason to grind in this game except you are some hardcore SAO Fan. They should have added more customization on characters or let us create out own Characters. Right now this Game feels more like an Alpha to me. It lacks so much stuff
lacked things on purpose. its a beta with 2 bosses and a trial field. if thats how ya feel when the game launches with all its content understandable but i feel like the fact games are in open alphas and betas forever has made people really forget what an alpha actually looks like
I already hate the menu music during queue and inventory time, it's nauseatingly calming. It makes me psychotic. I've seen you playing, my in-game username is also Sky Pirate.
@KronoKatastrophy Believe it or not, I don't like to do that. I don't have a playlist sitting around, I can't think of a bigger waste of time than organizing music. I like a lot of music, but it has to be setting-appropriate, and once I listen to the single song I wanted to hear, I'm done. But I should also mention I used to be deaf. Not born deaf. Deafened, fixed with surgery.
yes if they did they would never get a swing on players. We have nearly infinite combos the way they combat that is they dont get staggered as easily (because you can stun and knockdown enemies)
