My Blasian Daughter Experienced Racism and Bullying in America

  • I actually shared this experience on my instagram and a lot of people thought that the girl was from Yuri's school.
Discussing racism is definitely never fun, but it is a discussion that we definitely need to have. I never wanted this type of thing to happen to my girls, but this experience taught all of us and I will continue to help my girls to be strong and love themselves and stand up for themselves.

(I’m the guy in this video) Our family is forever grateful for the overwhelming support everyone has shown both Yuri and Dasomi. It is horrible that there are little Vivi’s out here full of evil, born during the time we had a Black President in America. It means we still have a long way to go.
Though I’m not the biological father to these two wonderful and beautiful Black girls, I am a very proud African-American Father nonetheless with the right capability, experience, attitude, and desire to equip these girls with everything they need to navigate this world alongside their amazing loving, strong, and brilliant Mother. I am grateful to be in this position and forever in the service of this family that we’ve created and I promise you all everyone is in good hands. Thank you! 🙏🏾

Chris. I am by no means a regular of this channel but as a mixed race man myself, I stumbled on Lily's channels more than a year ago and was curious. And I commented then because I was deeply concerned by something that the daughter's Dad had said. I then shared my experience to hopefully create reflection in the way his words caused disparity rather than embracing union. Anyway, we know how that turned out.
I just want to say, from seeing this video, I dove in Lily's content anew to see how her life and the daughters have turned out and I must say, you come across as a great man. From one man to another, which I must believe displays a high degree of emotion intelligence and empathy, I am glad that you came into their lives. You show emotional acuity and flexibility and someone who seems very much in control of who they are and through that same control, chooses to be a great human being towards himself and others, thank you for that.
In fact, I might stick around a little longer because it's refreshing to hear you embellish their lives, and for them to embellish yours too I'm sure. Congratulations on finding each other! @chrisjackson9111

No. Please stop feeling sad for her. Be strong for her. Empower her and stop pitying her. This is half the reason people keep doing this because they see it’s hurtful. As you can see that ViVi girl didn’t care. Stop internalizing that madness. Understand the ViVi girl is UGLY just like the mom said. Understand Yuri had to go through the motions but she is and will always be the more powerful one in this situation. Yuri along with many other black girls and there is nothing to feel sorry for when you know she is powerful, great, and they are jealous. What she experienced is disgusting behavior from a pathetic individual with pathetic parents and she’s a HATER just like the father said. Please stop this victim narrative and empower and fuel the next generation into greatness. Stop giving these bullies energy and power. They are pathetic little creatures and honestly, she wouldn’t even be talking like that if Zuri was in her face because I can guarantee she’s a coward foreal foreal. Empower those like Yuri, not pity them. Also, empower the little black girl in you because she deserves it. She deserves MORE. Give back to that little girl what was stolen from her and watch how much brighter you shine in the end. You, me, and every other black girl that had to endure this ugliness are great. We just gotta know it and own it because we are ALL worth it.

You guys are still growing and learning, there's a high chance that no they don't know, even if they did spend a lot of time on social media because they might've think it was okay after seeing someone else do it. I cried and my heart absolutely broke with sadness when Yuri told her Dad that she believed that what those girls said about her race is true and she therefore wanted to be white in order to defuse the situation. The girls involved need to be reported to the social media platform they were on.
I then cried happier tears because I am so grateful Yuri’s parents are full of wisdom and are giving their daughters exemplary/valuable lessons about race, prejudice and ignorance in a calm space.
I additionally cried happy tears when Yuri’s Mom told her second daughter, Dasomi - when she questioned why some people DON’T THINK BLACK LIVES MATTER - that those people hate Black people because Black people are too beautiful. WOW! What a needed analogy for Yuri and Dasomi to hear.
THIS ENTIRE VIDEO SHOULD BE A PSA RUN 24/7 ON SOCIAL MEDIA, CABLE AND NETWORK TELEVISION! EXCELLENT WORK PARENTS OF YURI AND DASOMI! WE ALL MUST PAY ATTENTION TO PREJUDICE AND FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT AGAINST IT; WE CANNOT GIVE UP!
I pray for and wish many blessings be bestowed upon your absolutely beautiful family.
Mama Bear rocked telling Yuri to repeat after her the following mantra: I’M BLACK, AND I AM KOREAN, I’M KENYAN, I’M AMERICAN, I’M A GIRL, AND I’M BEAUTIFUL, I’M BRAVE, I’M STRONG, AND NOBODY CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE! Never fear, be brave, stay strong, fight back - because you and your sister, Dasomi, have got this! 👏🏽💪🏾🥳🥰💎🌟💐💯

Seeing Yuri’s pain and her asking “what if it’s true?” about the insults, is so relatable and heartbreaking. Of course it’s not true and she did nothing to deserve it. The racism, discrimination, & hate was so bad that they left and came back to the US within 3 years of what was supposed to be a 10 yr assignment. He knew racism existed in China as he grew up there, but I guess it's hits different when it's your child. Now they're trying to teach my nephew that not all Chinese people act that way because the mental abuse was so bad to the point of him wanting nothing to do with Chinese kids now.

This video warms n comforts my heart from my childhood. I do wish parents taught their kids this way more. Which is coming from a girl who's parents used to use violence n lots of negativity to make me feel like the worst daughter/person in the whole world, even when I truly was a good daughter/person. No matter the race or color no one perfect but special in their own ways. Thank you for posting this video sharing how life is fr at some points. I just know ur daughter feels so loved n cared by yall, you both are one of the best parents ever. :)

I've never seen someone go through racism before. That was sad.
I really liked how the father handed the situation, trying to understand her point of view and blowing it away... That's really nice way to prevent the feeling from growing with time. I believe when we get hurt it's like a cancerous tumor, we need to take 100% off the bad tissue so it never come back and grow uncontrollably.
I hope she can have her head always free from self destruction, and always full of love for herself, her story and her family.
You both did a good job 🫶

She didn't deserve this at such a young age. It wasn't fair on her, and it won't ever be.
The fact that she said she couldn't say bad things because she wasn't a bad person just shows how innocent she was.
I hope she is doing good now

NOBODY Deserves to be Aggressed because of the color of their skin! No matter what age they are. There is NO excuse for that Crap in today's society. I totally agree with Dad 100% , every word spoken by him was cool , calm , collected and Empathetic , Sympathetic and Understanding.
By same token I also get Mom's attitude , she's used to being confronted and cut down for the color of her skin/race! That is SO sad and heartbreaking. I get why she's suggesting fighting back too , but I would only condone that when being Physically aggressed ; Somebody punches you , punch them back twice as hard! Someone kicks you , kick them back Twice as hard, then walk away and immediately go to your parents. Just don't throw the first punch , Ever...no matter how hurt or angry their comments might make you. Walk away , knowing you are the better person , always ; Because Yuri said it best "I can't hurt them because I'm not a bad person"! She's a little sweetheart with a heart of gold❤and I'm SO sorry there are Still people like that Vivi in the world. But Dad was right, it is getting better! Black Lives Matter! ALL innocent Lives matter , no matter what color! We're all the same under that silly skin , that's just the wrapping , it's what's inside that counts!!
We need a ressurgence of the 60s : all we all need is Love !!!
