    I feel bad for Maria Anna as she had to be married to Charles II. She was pressured to have a baby but it was not possible with Charles. She sounded like such a strong and intelligent woman.

    Some historians believe Queen Maria Anna to be the mother of a famous adventurer, the so-called Comte de Saint Germain (* about 1710, + 1784). If so, the child was born when she was already Queen Dowager. There are two possible fathers: José Nunez de Prado y de la Esquina, Conde de Adanero (a statesman and banker of Jewish origin), and Juan Tomas Enriquez de Cabrera, Duque de Rioseco. You haven't mentioned this in the video, what do you think about it?

    • @TheKingsofFrance
      @TheKingsofFrance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I haven’t mentioned it in my video because as far as I know, it isn’t historically proven. But you are right though. Those rumours did exist.

      If Archduke Charles (later Charles VI, HRE) became the King of Spain, Maria Anna of Neuberg would be related to him as his maternal aunt.

    • @Kingpowch
      @Kingpowch 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@RVChua-js2dw Exactly. They were three sisters. (Among many many siblings they had)
      Maria Anna (Queen consort of Spain) Dorothea Sophia and Eleonore Magdalene.
      Dorothea Sophia married Duke of Parma, Odoardo Farnese and together they had Elisabetta, who would later marry Spanish king Phillp V.
      Eleonore Magdalene married Leopold I of HRE and together they had Charles VI.
      So, they were all related to the Neuburg family. Thus, Elisabetta Farnese and Charles VI of HRE are cousins and nephew and niece of Maria Anna . And Charles III is a distant nephew of Charles VI
