New Zealand's alternative Democracy path is the worst in the game as it just makes you independent from UK and makes you leave the Allies, that's it, it just ends
Honestly while democratic alt history paths have never really been the best paths, ive noticed all of them are roleplay gold, Like democratic japan becoming a custodian for a future democratic asia, and germany uniting europe against soviet expansionism... That shit is amazing.
The mod Großdeutscher Bund really puts you in the shoes of Germany uniting Europe against the Soviets and after you can truly unite Europe and form the European Union. "From Paris to the Urals"

I dont know how many times I have done Allies run as minor country only to end up being denied the territories in focus tree. Greece, Turkey, Netherlands etc.
Another awesome country to stay democratic with is Mexico. You can pretty easily conquer most of Latin America, and then turn your might against the US
12:26 No, you don't really want to do this. There is a 45% chance that it does not work out and then you loose 5% stability, which is way too much if you ask me. I had a game where this did not work for quiet some time and I lost like 30 stability
I played Democratic germany and it was probably the easiest hoi4 game of my life. Despite playing on historical GB for some reason went fascist and declared war on france and usa and I managed to invite both of them into my faction. Thanks to that I managed to turn most major countries and basically all of europe against USSR. It was both easy and fun, it doesnt happen often to outnumber Soviet Union 3:1
If I remember right there is even a chance that you can core west prussia and poznan as democratic germany since poland gives it to you when it dies to sovjet russia.
I'd say probably my favorite democratic path are Greece, megali idea is pretty much let UK and France kill turkey for you and get a bunch of land, and Bulgaria for the unifying the Balkans(though that's pretty much apart of all the paths)
I honestly like playing democracies. I don’t always want to conquer, I want to be a good boy who obeys international law and defends the lesser democracies from harm (even though i do minor democracies.)
Democratic Australia is my jam. Playing a nation that just has to hold out until your allies come to help is really tense and way more enjoyable than invading the Soviet union as a fascist.
I live doing democratic byzantium and third rome.after the initial ideology switch you bank up demkcratic popularity and can still hold a referendum even after coups

It would be nice to have an option to play as an aggressive democracy in Hearts of Iron 4. Setting up your own faction and cleaning the world of communist and fascist bastards. Once I thought about Czechoslovakia having such an option, but it is very limited, because I had to set every major player as an aggresive asshole unless I wanted to use toolpack to declare wars.
IIRC, UK "no more appeasement" path does exactly that by allowing you to justify wargoal on nation that didn't generate world tention and giving you wargoal on every totalitarian European country
Democratic Bulgaria is insane. You get all the Balkans as cores without even needing to fight plus massive army bonuses and +2 building slots in every core state.
You want the true experience? Try doing America but Lend-Leasing only. Good luck trying to get the Allies and Commintern to win, because the AI will only use fuel and guns. I remember getting really invested one playthrough, the Chinese-Japanese war had been going on for awhile, so I sent China like 50k guns, 2k Heavy tanks, and lots of artillery and planes. But China just kep losing. No idea at all as to why, I eventually tagged over to China and saw that they hadn't used any of my equipment besides the guns. The AI has a certain path they want to go down, normally involving not fielding the largest tank fleet in the universe. They will only field more infantry when a certain date happens as well. So the AI won't ever use stuff besides the basics like guns and arty if even.

Just release Korea as a puppet and fight the civil war and declare war on Korea. of course, when you do the Korean focus, you get a mission that if you don't complete, you lose 10% stability and it never shows up again, but just improve worker conditions and maybe do some fascist raids to fix that.
