This 1st get iPod touch has some pretty unique differences when compared to all the other iPods. This model has never been updated! Come unbox it with me.
My ipod touch 1st gen was on either 1.1.4 or 1.1.5 when I got it. Since I was just a kid and didn’t want to pay to update to 2.0 I just jailbroke and stayed on 1.1.5 for awhile… good times!
Remember, the iPod touch 1st gen did not come with an internal speaker to make tonal sounds, that was the 2nd gen and above. This 1st get basically replicated the click sounds found in the iPod classic, but had no dedicated speaker to play music, you needed the headphones, but the clicks still came through the device.
Mine has 1.0.5 and it shows the setup with iTunes screen but iTunes tells me to unlock it with the password I put on there. Does anyone know how to fix?
I have one on 1.1 and it has that shiny dock. Looks super cool
They removed the shiny dock in iOS 2 and didn’t bring it back until iOS 4

You have unboxed an iPod touch 1st generation running firmware 1 before. Often on firmware 1, you need to use a 5W power brick to charge it.

This device was made before Apple started blocking downgrades so you can actually downgrade it to any version available
Those are uncommon to find because some of them are strangely at iOS 1.1.5 than iOS 3.
The iPod touch 1's release OS was 1.1 and maxed out at 1.1.5

1st gen ipod tovuh firewire only?
30 pin connector cables on one end always had a USB version as well as firewire version

I mean he could theoretically downgrade. Collecting OG basebands is a bit boring.
@@mr.cringe61 you can also downgrade baseband on the 2g so there's no difference between a downgraded 2g and a never updated 2g
