Yeah, so both season 0 and yugioh duel monsters follow the manga (duel monsters being like half filler). However, season 0 starts at chapter 1 and ends right before the manga goes fully into the card game (before then it was basically a villain of the week horror series where they play a new game every week, the only time they played card games is when kaiba is involved). Incidentally, season 0 ends right before the pegasus arc starts, so if you ignore the episodes where the duel monsters series repeats the stories (such as bakura vs yugi round 1 or where kaiba rips up grandpa's blue eyes), you can more or less follow the manga by watching season 0 then duel monsters, but with more filler and miho disappearing after season 0.
I recommend watching the movie sometime after season 2 (season 1 is from episode 1 to 22, season 2 is from 23 to 46, season 3 is from 47 to 63, and season 4 is from 64 to 82). And the reason téa put a ton of ketchup on their food is because she wrote "tell anyone and you die" because she thought they would tell the school that she had a part time job (it's against the rules to have a part time job at their school).
Since chronologically the movie takes place after battle city, I would recommend after season 3, but it doesn’t matter too much since he’s seen yugioh ( and the jokes In the movie don’t require context)
IIRC Little Kuriboh has had a lot of issues with getting good quality video of Season 0 hence why there's only 3 episodes. Most of the video is just like old Japanese VHS' or has a lot of compression or watermarks. In the original the school had a rule put in place that you couldn't have a part time job, but Tea still had one. The ketchup scene was basically her saying not to tell the school administration and stuff. Fun fact the anime version of this is actually tamer as the dude only has eternal illusions of being on fire, instead of actually burning to death like in the mange. Although I suppose it's a bit debatable which is actually the worse fate.
Tea reacted that way with the ketchup in the orginal season 0 is because it was against school policy to have jobs and she basically was threatening them if they sold her out.

I'm not really into collecting cards anymore (although I've still kept my collection), but something that I've found is pretty fun to do is design my own cards in Photoshop (or whatever my preferred software is at the time), print them onto clear plastic sticker sheets, blank official foil cards using acetone, then apply said sticker over the foil and cut the excess with a craft knife to make custom cards. It takes a lot of time and hard work, but there's something really neat about having your own official looking cards of your own design. I've personally designed about 80 of them, and think that it would be pretty neat to eventually let a friend or maybe some of my younger cousins play with a set of entirely custom Pokemon cards.

Yugioh abridged movie-after season 3(episode 63) Yugioh bonds beyond time-after season 4(episode 82) Kaibas real father part 1 and 2-between ep 45 and ep 59 Yugioh SD Card Games for Charity-at least 30-40 episodes into the series, I would say shortly before or after ep 52 Marik’s evil council-anytime after ep 46 (I’d recommend somewhere in the middle of or after season 4) Counciling Evil-after marik’s evil council Capsule Monsters-not entirely sure, I’d say after season 2 or 3 Deleted scenes-after season 2 or at least after episode 35 Pharaohs throne-anytime but it is a must watch There are some more but those are the main ones. The episode specifications are so the jokes are best appreciated.
