    Lady from Google: "if only we could get people to concentrate on ads that much." That seems like sarcasm, but it's more like she's saying the quiet party out loud.
    Some videos that are worth watching have ads that seem to just be dropped in at arbitrary times, which can useful for developing focus by recapping what I've learned so far and taking a moment note where the topic dropped off and maybe taking a moment to do things that don't require much focus and ponder the topic of the video or assess my personal interest in it.
    It seems strange to me to utilize conversation as a way to develop concentration since conversation might wander off in any direction and my own interest in it might range from not having much interest in a particular topic to something I'm familiar with and I'm sharing my knowledge to something I'm interested in but know little about and engaging the person to learn what I can.

      Wow. "That dropping ad and practising concentration" is so relatable. I do that too when my old laptop takes too long time or just hangs.

    I disagree with his take on mindfulness. We can't fix all "root causes". Good talk though.

      @@theelement6255 I do Vipassana meditation. The goal is to become aware. Even for things you can't fix. What this presenter said didn't match my meditation practice is all i am saying. Much stress in this world comes from people trying to fix everything and other people.

    • @theelement6255
      @theelement6255 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@victornoagbodji you do no mindfulness is more than meditation, yes? Vipassana is a practice. It is not the whole of the yogic approach to life. This is why you speak as you do. There’s a whole 23 hours left after your meditation in which you are losing the benefits that lead to the “fixing of root causes”

    • @victornoagbodji
      @victornoagbodji ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theelement6255 Yes, I am aware that mindfulness is more than meditation. I was telling you what I practice I follow since you asked. I seek to understand. Sometimes things don't need fixing. You are misunderstanding them. I have nothing else to add and am not trying to convince you either. But I wanted you to know this. If anything your comment did, it reinforced my opinion that trying to fix everything is not right. You tried to make me see things your way. You assumed and reduced my practice to an hour practice (it's actually less than that!) and 23 hours of not doing much. In a condescending tone. See, this is what I meant. And this is why I made my original comment in the first place. Take care.

    • @theelement6255
      @theelement6255 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@victornoagbodji and you assumed that I agreed with the idea of fixing everything. Then you revealed that you can be lured into reinforcing a belief, stubbornly, without questioning what I’m even saying for validity. Nope, just shut down the conversation. Hope this new revelation helps you on your spiritual journey
