    Thank you for the video and the tip about maskol around the wheels.
    Grandfather and I were talking about our oh sh*t moments when I got back from Afghanistan. His was better. He was a gunner on a Sherman. They fired at the front half of a half track, until they realized it was a tiger sticking out of a building when it drove through the other side and headed towards them.
    Mine was totally irrelevant after that...

    Great video!! Have this very same kit stashed away in a closet for past 12 years or so. Every time want to work on it, get side tracked on another project. This video just may be what I need to finish that bugger, so went looking for it. Also, found another kit that I have been searching for for about 3 months hidden with this kit - got a bonus!!

    Brilliant job sir!I know this video is 4 y.o., but I’ve just found your channel. I made the same model, but your effort puts me in the shade. I might have another go at this one using a few tips I’ve picked up from watching you work. I have now subscribed, and look forward to your future posts.

      Hello and thank you for watching. I'm pleased to hear that the video has helped you along with your own build and you've picked up some tips despite the videos age. If you're interested in more armour I have a Sherman which covers all of the techniques in this video but in more depth (now that I am good enough to do so 😅). Thank you for the sub it's greatly appreciated and look forward to delivering you more content!

    Отлично!!!👍Я для имитации ткани вместо фольги использую туалетную бумагу или тонкую салфетку без рисунка - смачиваю разведенным клеем ПВХ и потом при подсыхании формирую нужные мне изгибы. Очень реалистично получается.

    been doing model kits as a kid, mainly 1/72 scale WWII - US, German, 2eme DB French, English. did about 50-60 vehicles and over 200 soldiers. Ended up giving everything to my local town to use for their yearly celebration of their liberation. Did a handful of 1/35 few years back and looking to do few more now... I really that you give the paint or the product you use for each stage of your painting and weathering. Thx

    • @TheInnerNerd
      @TheInnerNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you're pleased with your work. I didn't have the equipment to do a professional style of voiceover when I started the channe l- and when I built this kit. But now I do so if you want to take a look at my more recent uploads I'm sure you'll be more impressed

    • @russ1023a

      Why even respond to a-hole like that. If you don’t like no voice over then move on to another channel. I found your video very informative and helpful, esp since I am new back into modeling . You did a great job and gave us info on what paints and supplies you were using . Well done

    I really hope you don't mind my 2 cents. Here goes. The MG 42 at the rear would be 'Barrel up' not down. As the stock/receiver etc was a lot heavier than the barrel, and what the gun fits into is a swivel. Also the track links attached to the front are a great addition but the ties don't appear to go anywhere? As has also been commented the shell holes don't really work.
    Apart from that the painting and building of the thing is superb.

      Thank you! I don't normally paint with a brush so can't say for sure but I know that thinning the paint with some levelling thinner is a good idea. That way the paint will dry flat and smooth. Build up in coats is the best way to do it and use a large flat brush

    The fenders could have used some damage, the threads on the tires could have shown some wear, sharp edges could have been rough up and rounded to represent real metals. No judgment just observations.

    amazing! Im a beginner just starting out with armor scalemodeling. Trying to find an allied M2/M3 halftrack. Ive been focused on tamiya since they build well and not to expensive (i can mess up) But i have a hard time finding an allied halftrack. maybe you can give me some pointers. I have found a kit from Dragon but it cost alot.

    • @TheInnerNerd
      @TheInnerNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. I cover with a very fine spray/dust of XF-59 Buff which is thinned also and it will uniform all of the colours. If you spray from roughly 20cm away the spray pattern will be nice a loose and lay onto the model evenly a lightly. Hope this helps!

    now that is a amazing build but can you make a video on the colors and paints
    for this build I see that you used a tooth brush scrub the paint off did you used a solvent with that I want to build this model but I am a car modeler and do not known
    how to weather it does not look hard to do just knowing how to do it will make a amazing model like yours thanks

    • @TheInnerNerd
      @TheInnerNerd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Edward Fontaine Thanks a lot. I can do a video on general weathering if you like covering all my techniques so that you can see the various processes. To answer your question, it's just plain water. The AK reacts to the water and losens the paint when scrubbed

  • @tomlax28
    @tomlax28 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What were the wheels for the tracks painted? Black for sure, but what other colors were used?

    • @TheInnerNerd
      @TheInnerNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mainly use pigments and washes of earthy colours to tint and stain the tires into the muddy and dusty colour you see on the finished model. The black is a base for the following effects. Hope this helps and thanks for watching :)

    Very clever. 2 questions
    How long roughly does it take to build and finish.?
    Do you sell your models.?

    • @TheInnerNerd
      @TheInnerNerd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Scott & thank you!
      1. Depends on the model, armour takes around 3 weeks generally. Aircraft typically 6/7 weeks.
      2. I have sold/be selling future models, but only to friends/workmates but nothing more

    Wonderful work. The only thing bothers me is te rear machine gun. Becouse of its own weight and balance, it should point upwords

    Is it a "Wiking" vehicle? Looks suspiciously familiar with the hung-on panzerschreck from photos seen in Remy Spezzano's new work "Kampfgruppe Mühlenkamp"... ;-)

    Pretty nice vehicle, I am currently looking for insirations for makink my own, and it certainly is one ;) not sure about those shell holes though, they look kinda out of place. I mean, normally such vehicle would be abandoned?

      Jakub Bizub Thanks. Glad it has been of some use. The shell holes were a bit if an experiment with my then-new rotary tool. Also wouldn't be abandoned if it had just finished a mission 😉
