Step by step instructions on how to configure your Losmandy Gemini and your computer to connect via a single shared ethernet cable (no router).

WINDOWS 11 USERS: new WIndows computer ethernet port setup may prevent you from saving your settings as described in this video. If this is the case, try setting the gateway ip to the Gemini ip address (or a ip address with the same subnet but different from the computer)

Thank you Brian! Very well explained and vital information for us to be able to directly connect to the Gemini II for seeing what's going on.

Great instructional! Since I’m so new at getting controlling software to work over Ethernet, I didn’t realize that I had to be logged into the web page for the ASCOM settings to work. Now that I have that working , I’m going to try using just the ascom drivers mentioned below.
Keep the tutorials coming. (They’re a ltttle over due)
    Cheers

Now all I need is a way to connect a usb hub an transfer the data via the Ethernet port on my Gemini 😉. I❤️ my g811g only been able to use it a handful of times since purchase but I absolutely love it.

Hey Brian, I've had mine since March 2017, can you please do a video explaining in simple step by step terms how I can update mine from V1.2 to the latest V1.4..? I'm lost here, and do not understand the Gemini-2 web site update instructions...Thanks!!

Do all these changes that you do, replace the USB settings? Or are both options now available?

Does it require a cross-over cable?

Sorry, but I have never gotten the Ehternet wired control to work. I am using Windows 11 Pro, I did try to follow the added instructions after the video but it just does not work. I have switched to differetn E-Net cables, no go. The Gemini 2 unit Ethernet port does not have any indication lights for E-Net connection as I do see them on the PC. Should that Gemini 2 controller have indication E-Net light next to the port? I found the shorthand you used on the Windows 11 addendum to be somewhat confusing and I cannot tell if I have done what you said. Please help. Currently I am back to a USB conneciton that is kind of jerky with Sharpcap motion controls and would like to have E-Net up and running. I had the same problem when I tried to run a wireless E-Net adapter too.
I have three photos of the various screens on the HC and the PC; how do I get these to you?
    Thx

I have Windows Pro too, I am getting a bit discouraged even before I get started. How did you make out?

Is there anything significantly different for Win11? I configured under Win10 and everything worked. Now a year later I have a new Win11 computer and I am struggling to get Gemini to connect.
