  • Figuring out how to support myself while embracing a nomadic lifestyle in my truck camper took me on the most important quest of my life. This quest involved three failed businesses, discovering my life's true calling, and learning how to cultivate joy. This story was difficult to tell because it demanded unfiltered transparency, exposing my vulnerabilities and humanness.

    Your willingness to be so genuine and share your life in this way is definitely inspiring to others. You're right! If you are driven to live a unique and interesting life of purpose, you have to give up comfort and be willing to live differently than most of the world around you. Keep it up. There is a deep satisfaction that comes from knowing that you're traveling right down the middle of the lane of your purpose that no amount of material comfort can replace and it's obvious watching your videos that that's happening for you.

      Thank you, Scott. I'm never quite sure if I'm being inspirational or simply rambling. It all comes down to individual mindsets and perspectives, and that diversity is what makes everyone unique and beautiful. I appreciate you watching my videos!

    Thank you for being transparent and sharing your feelings and your experiences. So many times I have felt the same way working in a field that I felt I didn’t fit in but it made money, not happiness. I went back to college in my early 50’s on thru a masters and got a job at a University teaching part time online. I am a Nomad and travel and feel freedom and peace. I too love the outdoors. My dept wants to hire me full time but wants me to get a PhD, I’m 58 and not sure what to do? I enjoy helping others and teaching but this is a huge step to take, I think sometimes why not? And other times I feel like I’m too old and do I want that expense? Will it pay off? Should I just live simple and continue living minimally? Idk, but I do understand where you are at in life, and I appreciate your honesty. 😊

      I am happy that you can relate to my experience, and I can certainly relate to yours. Congratulations on finding your happiness! That took a lot of courage and hard work! Yay for you! If external factors were nonexistent, what does your heart tell you? How do you see your ideal life, and will a PhD and full-time position enhance that? I would love to hear what you decide. It is a big decision! I am sending positive vibes!

      You are so welcome. Learning to accept and love yourself takes practice, patience, and compassion. So much of our teachings in childhood have taught us to do the opposite - to beat ourselves up and criticize ourselves. We take those lessons into adulthood, and it's so damaging. You are worthy, whole, and lovable just the way you are. Treating and talking to yourself like you would a child or best friend is a start. Be kind to yourself. ♥

    I’ll be starting on the path that you were on very soon. I hope I am not intruding but one thing you should consider for additional income is to apply for an Amazon affiliate and start listing the things you use so people can buy them and you can earn a little bit that way From the dogs harnesses to RV kitchen stuff to clothes, whatever you use list those links to your Amazon affiliate link and every video and go back and add them to your other videos as well. I’m not doing this but it’s on my list for monetization goals good luck and keep at it, you are a storyteller and people enjoy hearing stories.

    • @KimannChessa
      @KimannChessa  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just started doing Amazon Affiliate and am still exploring how best to use that. Thanks for the tip of adding links to my previous videos. I didn't think about that. You are not intrusive. I welcome feedback and suggestions. You are so sweet calling me a storyteller! I consider that a great compliment! That is the first time anyone has ever said that to me, and I have always wanted to be able to tell engaging stories. I just thought I was rambling. Are you starting a TH-cam channel?

    Just curious what you do about healthcare coverage? I’m a nurse too and just don’t want to give up my health insurance if I do the nomadic van life lifestyle. I’m healthy but ya know, things happen and you can’t always predict when you’re going to get ill or injured. And getting treatment is sooo expensive! So just interested in what you’re doing for health insurance. Thank you and you are very inspiring!

    • @KimannChessa
      @KimannChessa  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a medical cost-sharing plan. If something happens, I only have to pay the $1000 out-of-pocket cost for everything. It gives me peace of mind. It is $215 a month, and I can use it anywhere, even out of the country. Truthfully, I have yet to use it. It's not for everyone. I pay out of pocket for my dental and preventative stuff, and I try to take good care of myself, which is our real healthcare! Traditional insurance was ridiculously expensive, and the deductibles were sky-high. I have extreme opinions about the state of the US medical system. I won't state them here, but being a nurse, you really see it. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    I’m feeling you. I was always made to feel like education was soooooo important . A degree was needed for success. I tried college for 2 years and I just knew it wasn’t for me. Money doesn’t drive me. I know its needed but I’m not trying to impress people or even to really be accepted. I am loved by my family but I’m a free spirit. When I started watching tiny house and van life videos I felt a connection to that simple living. I hope someday I can experience either. God bless you on your journey. Be safe.

      You were so much more aware than I was at a young age to see that education isn't necessary for a successful life! I figured that out when I was in my early 50s! You can see that the only acceptance that matters is to yourself, and everything stems from that! Yay for you for figuring all of that out and living by your values and principles! If you feel drawn to simple living, you will find that balance that brings you joy! Thank you!

      It is a challenging and draining job. Most people get into it because they want to help people, and it is frustrating to find out that your hands are tied often because of the system. I just read a statistic yesterday that said 90% of nurses are considering leaving nursing in the next year. We need nurses, and I appreciate and value them. I couldn't do it anymore. Good luck Kimann! , living in your rig and not paying rent or electricity should be quite easy to survive on $200 pm if you boondock and stay in the same spot and spend wisely. I live in a converted sprinter in Australia and easily survive on $200pm, I am vegan and vegetarian, park in the same spot for extended periods so I'm not needing gas or risking vehicle breakdowns. I like your show, you're a fun person, don't get down on yourself, you've got two beautiful dogs and you are free!, vehicle dwelling is a wonderful lifestyle for those lucky enough to be able to live this way!, relax and enjoy!.

      Hi. We split the equity from our first house. He got a great deal on the second house. I just wanted to leave the marriage. I made a video about my story that explains some of it. What I found in relationships is you have to accept, love, and respect yourself first. If you don't, because of walking a rocky road in life, you will attract others with the same trauma. It was a damaging relationship for me, and I am so much happier now. It takes two people to make a relationship work; if one cannot take responsibility for their part, it is impossible to work on it. I decided I had to work on healing myself, and when you do that, you won't accept things that you did in the past. I needed to leave to be well. That is a long answer, but relationships are challenging and complex.

    Why not work 25 hours a week as a nurse? Or since people need pet sitters do that for other people. Good luck on your journey. I bet you could be an adjunct nursing teacher also..

    Repent of your known sins and be spared an eternity in hell. God requires a relationship with all human beings! Obey the KJV Bible and End Times are happening now.
