I can't even think about how expensive the iMac pro's will be. Amazing video as always.
Thing is, the price isn't actually that much different than the last gen of mbp's. Around the $5500-$6000 range for the fully specced 16 inch iirc. And considering how much more "power?" you get it all adds up in the end. But realistically nobody needs that amount of internal storage and the big add on is the 8tb which is just ludicrous. I'm pretty sure anyone using this will have external HD's anyway so 2tb is really ample.

@@sergiomoncada I think 1TB is optimal for most users... you can always get a high-speed thunderbolt compatible external SSD or if you just wish to store files like me and dislike any additional external hardware, you can just use a cloud storage service. I use Google One's 2 TB storage plan for all my files and photos.

Designed by Apple in California. I’ve watched 5 videos in a row of different creators unboxing Apple products saying “Designed by California in Apple”. The world might be secretly becoming a little dyslexic.

I got the Silver M1 Max 16" MacBook Pro with 32GB Memory and the 1TB SSD.
When Apple finally listen to their users, i wonder what a big thing they have for the next year.. it's impossible for them to let their users down, so I'm sure they have a very completely futuristic tech next year..
To their very few users actually. Bloggers and on the go content makers are not real pros and not a target audience for mbp. At least they never were.
Most just hate this new design. Problem is we can only hear the minority who make videos on YT. Apple made an awful product for most users.

my rMBP 15" 2015 had the "slim" design and yet had all the ports including much larger USB-A ports. Don't understand why "reviewers" behaving like outsourced marketing rather than being critical...

I came from the 2017 15 inch MacBook Pro to a 14 inch mid spec Macbook Pro with so much more SSD than I had. I bloody love it so much! $3600 Australian.
I often think about what Steve Jobs would do with this technology and what his take would be on growth and innovations moving forward. A part of me thinks he wouldn’t let these ship so thick and would remove that notch at any cost.
Even so, I do think these Mac’s are truly amazing.

Like 2012 macbook pro
A bit late but the notch features a 1080p camera, TrueTone sensor, ambient light sensor and a camera status LED. I bought a 16" MacBook Pro for my 10 year-old son and he loves it for game development and recording video and music. It's a heavy log so I have 2 rules, it's internet time is limited to 3 hours per day and when he carries it he needs to do it with two hands. @Karl Conrad, 911 fan, aren't you?

@@OakTurtle_ yes haha. So many people going nuts on 32-core M1 Max or 32GB of RAM and making me feel like my specs are weak even though they're already good
I also have that configuration and the same thought. With university discount € 2,600. If we add 32gb it goes up to € 3,100, which is crazy money.
But if that were not enough, for € 200 more, M1 Max...
In 5 years they will all be old teams and everyone will want to change to the new model.
Conclusion: It is a great computer, which to edit TH-cam videos, Photoshop, Final Cut ... is more than enough.
Future, it will be seen.

ok so I bought the 16 inch in silver with the m1max 1tb of storage and 32 ggb of ram. butttt I saw how chunky she was gonna be so I went ahead and also bought the MacBook Air just base model for traveling when I'm not gonna be editing and just gonna need a computer for some light studying and that kid of thing. Im coming from the mid 2019 16 inch MacBook Pro with the intel chip 1 tb of storage and then 32 gb so I'm excited to see the upgrades I already see it with the macbook air all together about 4k-5k so I mean for 2 great computers thats not bad.
Bro the notch has ambient light se core, spatial audio trackers , camera, led light and space to add Face ID to future generations of MacBook pros while keeping same display panel

GAMING: No one would ever accuse me of being a gamer. But I covet the days when my PC allowed me to enjoy flying with MS Flight Simulator. Eventually, my aging system did not allow me to keep up with the advancing demands of that game's software. My flying days were over. Ever since leaks about the original M1 MacBook Air made their way to this TH-cam channel, and many others, the videos have been all about specification comparisons using a variety of benchmarks. I watched, took notes, and gradually drank the Apple juice. I became hooked on the idea of Apple silicon. Then leaks of the M1X chip repeated more benchmark tests. I thought, "If my slowly failing Windows 7 PC will just hold out until Apple announces what became the MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and Max chips, that is when I will buy one." I ordered my 14" Pro an hour after Tim's unvealing was over. And now videos are starting to talk about gaming focusing on the old PC versus MAC debate. And there seems to be a dent in Apple's armor. The gaming community still leans toward tripped out PCs over MACs. When I finally install X-Plane 11, if I am not impressed, I will certainly suffer buyer's remorse for purchasing a MAC.

People like thick devices: thick phones, tablets, laptops. Thinness is not a virtue unto itself, hopefully Apple has learned that.

I’m gonna go with the MBP 16” Max fully maxed out, including the 8TB SSD… not because I’m a baller, but because I need it and I’m gonna use it for the next 6 years minimum, so 6x365 days, so 2190 days. So it’s gonna cost me like 3 bucks a day, the price of a coffee every day, to be able to do my work, it’s worth it.

You are counting in Human years. In the computer world, every 1 human year is 3 in the computer world. In 6 years you will have an 18 year old computer.
It's more effective to upgrade to m1 pro 10 core and 16 core gpu instead of upgrading the storage on the 14 inch, poor choice.
It’s only 0.06cm thicker then the previous model its just the design that reveals the thickness more

The addition of the ports and the new display are totally a big upgrade but I just don’t like how the body looks, it looks like an old MacBook. It kind of looks like this was the current model and the USB-C touch-bar MacBooks are the new models. They look more sleek and sharp compared to the round and chunky design these new computers have. Also I do not like the completely black keyboard, it looks cheap.
With the 14inch you can get the 96 W charger if you select the 10 core cpu processor

I ordered the m1 max middle of the road options on the first day and I won't see it till around thanksgiving... it was basically 4-5 weeks right away. I could of gotten the m1 pro today though at that time still. Congrats to those with the snipper fingers to get it in the first few hours.
Great video as always. I love it, but it’s too powerful/expensive for my use case. Looking forward to the redesigned MBA next year!

@@felipao2134 Yeah I was thinking it’ll be revealed at WWDC and then released by summer. That’s prob what I’d go for, especially if they added MagSafe again and maybe even an HMDI, uorwde to Thunderbolt 4, upped the RAM, upgraded the M1 to a pro/max/m2 or whatever with some more GPU cores, a bit more SSD space, allowing dual monitoring at least and ideally tri+tv+whatever else iPhone/iPad mirroring, improve the camera and monitor a bit to 120hz and 4K perhaps, maybe another usb-c port or two but I realize that’s probably a space issue and frankly one doesn’t need it with a good dongle. We’ll see, if they met all those standards and didn’t raise the price I’d buy immediately lol.
All they have is the improved 1080 front facing camera. Maybe the next pro laptop will have added features

Honestly ive never owned a laptop before but I am just getting this 16” and not buying another laptop for years lol I don’t give in to the hype of these big corporations but I do need a laptop for school.

I'm an Apple fan but this design man.... it looks so bad, so outdated, so cheap. I'm glad i didn't wait for the pro and went with the M1 Air earlier this year. Much better design and really good performance for a fair price. The pro version now really is only for pros.

you can get a decent configuration full ecosystem, both apple or non apple, for less than 3k... this is just crazy.
Apple's SSD speeds ate RIDICULOUS up to 7.4 GB/s read speeds compared to an external SSD. I think it's a decent bargain to upgraded to 1 or 2 TB storage.
