  • My videos are now in the Tierrasanta neighborhood of San Diego and you will see more videos for the days to come of some traffic signals around here and if you live in this part of town or are familiar with this area, maybe you'll see something familiar.
This is a very nice intersection and neighborhood to live in because of all the trees, but it's very hilly which is so San Diego. The Durasig traffic lights are pretty old and I am guessing they were installed here in the 1980's because that's when Durasig signals started showing up in San Diego. I don't know why they don't continue doing that today because Durasig traffic lights are lightweight and never fade color. The pedestrian signal has gone through a lot of upgrades over the decades with first a worded neon pedestrian light, then a hand/man neon pedestrian light, then a LED hand/man light, and now a LED countdown light. All of the pedestrian signals here also have a very old and rare pedestrian walk signal audio connected to all of them. It makes the chirp and cuckoo sound. This intersection still has 7 of them with a newer modern one just across the street. Another rare thing is that all 8 of them actually work unlike other intersections where only some work or none work at all.
Here are my videos of the rest of the traffic signals at this intersection with the vintage pedestrian audios in action.
