I enjoyed your camp. In the 1970s I spent 7 years hiking around Alaska. I did not have the Backwoods Bungalow Tent, but used a tarp for a lean-to which I always heated with an open fire in front; kept me warm in subzero temperatures (I used a lot of wood). I love your crane cooking set up as it was what I also used. Those were the "good old days" and your video brought back fond memories. Thank you
Hello Starling, I suppose that's why I share my experiences out in the woods. It's something that people who share a deep regard for the wilderness can relate to, from the days of old to the days of new. I was just a lad in the 70s what's that's weird all started for me, that childhood need to explore. Glad you're enjoying the videos.
@@TheLoreofBushcraft Is it long enough for someone at 6' 2", "cause by the time you add on room for a pillow, I normally end up with feet or head touching the sides?
My favorite season. You don't get sweaty, and layering actually works. Fires are safer and most welcome, and the hot food is the best you've tasted. Your videos are the next best thing to being out there doing it myself. I love the way you portray the whole experience by capturing the essence of a trip: The motion, the arrival, organization and and set up, knots, bushcrafting the "extras", prepping wood, lighting the fire and finally, a real meal (not some hot water into a bag). All done in silence, just as you would experience it. Thanks for taking us there again. Greatly appreciate all the effort involved bringing this to us. 🙏
When it rains I lower the door fly to about 3/4 height which allows the rainwater to run forward and off the tent. Pretty neat tent and not really very heavy.
Hello Tom, I think it's the best tent I've ever had and I've had and have many. I own some of the top tents on the market from Nemo, Nordisk, Hilleberg, MSR and Big Agnes, but for me this one is hands down the most comfortable and adaptable I've gotten.
@@TheLoreofBushcraft Hilleberg is tops for quality and performance, but this Backwoods Bungelow is simply unique and versatile. I've just sold three of my other tents as this one does the job they did and more. If they would add a small roof line vent to reduce condensation (warm air rises) they've have it perfected.
Exactly, I have all sorts of tents from MSR, Nordisk, Nemo and Big Agnes, yet this one does the trick. I like the open air feeling of having the flap open (that's why I like tarps and hammocks) so I don't close it, therefore I don't have a condensation problem. I did close it a couple times and winter and just got frost all over the outside as I would of with a four season tent.
Hello OneTigris, I'm honoured by your visit. I only share what I personally have verified. If it's a fantastic product I endorse it. Love the canopy feature and the roominess! You guys did a great job and I will try out the new model when I have a guest. Well done 👍
Just a thought about sawing up your wood.... try the plumber's vice... where you tuck the branch behind your knees and squat to hold it. Much easier than trying to hold with one hand and saw with the other. Great video. That tent is next on my list.
Hello, thanks for the tip but if you look at quite a bit of my videos I am using the plumber's vice. It is one of my favourite methods and I demonstrate it. I didn't use the vise in that particular instance because I had an all-purpose blade on my new saw which is jagged and kept catching. I prefer to use a dry wood saw blade (I have since switched it out). (See below of a couple of examples of my videos using the vise): 11:20 th-cam.com/video/seAyLUiF0VU/w-d-xo.html 00:38 th-cam.com/video/WZBQhA78f6U/w-d-xo.html
Yes of course I figured so, no worries. Well, thanks buddy I appreciate it! I hope that you will watch them all. Glad you are here and welcome aboard. Cheers
Hello mate, I don’t subscribe to black or white for I am simply human as everyone else. If you meant in regards to African descent, I am of mixed ethnicity, my father is a Scotsman and my mum is Jamaican, I am from Britain. I have never seen a truly black person or a truly white person in my life as compared to a colour palette. The truth is, we are all shades and variations of colours, this black and white thing is just a method of creating polar opposites in order to divide us. Moreover, the word Bushcraft comes from the African Bushman of the Kalahari and southern Africa. They are the the oldest people on Earth and the most famous Bushcrafters of them all. There are tribes all over the world that practice Bushcraft, and 99.9% of them carry darker skin. Bushcraft is just man in his natural environment, doing what is natural. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
@@TheLoreofBushcraft i'm really thinking about buying this tent but the one thing that i'm a little concerned about is i've heared people say it has allot of condensation if it gets to hot or cold out so my question is have you had that problem?
Hello, there’s so many ways to ventilate it In the warm season and in the winter I have it open as well unless it’s raining or snowing. One time Ice formed in a Snowstorm but it was no issue. It’s a great tent at a great price can't go wrong
No one could have done that tent so perfect great video God bless thank you 😎👊 i think that's the only video I've ever watched without skipping so relaxing
I wonder what you think about tent or shelter angle. I find that if I put the back of the shelter to the weather, a low pressure area occurs directly in front of the shelter opening and draws fire smoke back into the shelter. So I try to set the shelter rear at a bit of an off-angle, about 25 to 30 degrees to the weather, so the wind will cross the front of the tent at an angle and carry the smoke away. What do you think?
Hi Tom, I always try to camp mid-valley, not up on the mountain where there is exposure, and not deep in the valley where it's cold, windy or buggy, The spots I pick protect me from the wind due to Mountain side. And, I usually put up a log wall, this also protects me, not only from the smoke, but if there is any wind. As a result, I've never even experienced smoke in my sleeping area during camping. But if diagonal works for you definitely do it. Cheers
Hello mate, nice to have you. The tent held up perfectly, I’ve had it in the snow and in the rain. I think it’s better than all my backpacking tents and I have most of the high-end ones, now I prefer it.
Cracking video, the long walk in, the location looks amazing, them bungalow 2.0's do look very good, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Oi Craig, yes it's very beautiful and I'm glad to have such a place. The bungalow is my favourite tent, due to the fact that durable and roomy. Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad I could share this with you!
This was the best setup of the BB2.0 that I've yet seen. I get the silent treatment too. While I'm dying to hear you narrate the whole shtick I get the cinematic effect. Are you a vegan by any chance? I'm a chef by trade and the Beyond sausage is anything but mainstream. Also what was from BadgerClaw in this video? Keep up the fantastic work.
Good evening Otis, I really appreciate your kind feedback. I don't speak because I want to bring a more authentic experience as well as have a place of peace, quiet and tranquility for myself when I'm out. I'm glad you were receptive to it. You got it I am Vegan. Regarding Beyond Sausage, I suppose it's where you shop. I shop at Whole Foods and it's frequently sold out. It also has gone public in the stock market quite sometime ago. It's certainly not mainstream in the Bushcraft community though. I'm sure one can substitute their sausage of choice for my dishes :) As far as Badger Claw, what I do is put a list of suppliers, vendors and outfitters that I frequently use in the description template by default. So a specific supplier might not be in that particular video per se. It simply serves as a resource for people to use when they're looking for kit and a sort of credit to the vendor. Love the feedback Chef Otis! 🔪🍝👨🍳
Hey brother. Hope you're good. Great video. Looking forward to part 2. I have that tent also. Yet to use. Would love to hear you speak on a video sometime. Stay safe man 🌱✊
Hey there, all is well. The tent is fantastic! It's roomy, durable, versatile and light. I don't think I'll ever speak in my videos because I want them to be more of a film. It also takes away from my experience. I simply wanted to be a window into my world (along for the ride) and not the host of a telly program. 🤣

Great video! Once again I am inspired! Question, how do you like the Matilda pack? Im a fan of the ALICE pack and was thinking of purchasing the Matilda pack but wasn’t sure of how durable it would be. I was concerned about it being nylon fabric and ripping easily. What are your likes/dislikes (if any)
Hi, the pack is fantastic and is one of my favourites. It carries quite a bit yet still rides like a Backpacker's Pack. The durability is impressive, it's really water resistant, and it's module which I greatly appreciate, because I can add or take away according to my needs. I use it mostly as my winter pack because I can carry so much in it. The only thing I wish it had, and I've heard others say the same, is that it would be nice to be able to strap something onto the Brain, such as a tarp, blanket or jacket. But you can always put things just under the hood. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers
Hello, no issues with the tent. I’ve had it in torrential rain as well as covered in snow and I’ve had no problems. I think it’s a great tent and better than my high-end backpacking tents. Hope this helps.
Hello mate, my diet is 100% plant-based. So, it it takes about 3-5 days to start going bad, but I can slow down that process as well by storing it in a stream. That's a huge benefit of plant-based food for Bushcraft.

One of the best things is you don't feel cramped up inside. That's why so many bushcrafters use a tarp. The canopy feature solves this.
