I'm not sure if there's enough foreshadowing to really constitute as a "journey" but I'd love to see a "Road to Ultra Ego" video. I really like this type of video, the new perspective looking back on each character's stories is really interesting.
I think it’s best to wait until the Black Frieza arc for something like that. Given Vegeta’s failure to use Ultra Ego and destruction to their fullest against Granolah and Gas, he’s chosen to start training himself in the other direction during Superhero, nearly identical to Goku’s UI fundamentals Not relying on power alone, calming down, and expending his energy only when necessary. When Vegeta finally moves past the man he used to be and accepts himself as the protector of planet earth, something great will awaken from him.
Ultra Ego is currently incomplete, Vegeta still lacks his personal "X" factor like Goku before awakening True Ultra Instinct. He even says he's not a destroyer who can give it all up like Beerus.

@@Mdogani A road to UE could be about how zenkai boosts and his saiyan pride sort of foreshadowed ultra ego. Though ultra ego just kinda spawned out of nowhere in the manga
@@Ice-qi3moNot really. Sure, it was given to him in response to Ultra Ego, but just like Ultra Instinct I can see where they foreshadowed it accidentally a couple times in the series.
I like the concept of goku's time with Roshi being an important/essential factor as to why he was the first out of the cast to reach ultra instinct/be able to unlock a power like this at all. That roshi's mantra stuck with goku, subconsciously or consciously, and his time with roshi is part of what allowed goku to tap into his emotions and truly become as calm as can be, despite all the rage he's felt by tapping unto his saiyan heritage with super saiyan.
I love these retrospective videos. They highlight all the different ways the modern story builds off the foundations of dragon ball. It's funny how Ultra Instinct is an extension of his training goal from the original DB, and people are mad that he didn't go the Primal route, I mean I love Super Saiyan 4, I really love it, especially in the design department, but the way Carthu explained the road to Ultra Instinct, it showed that UI is truly fitting for Goku. I'm sure if they fixed the parts of him being "overconfident" and dumb, people would've been more comfortable with Super Goku. Nice video, Carthu. You're surprise us with another piece of gold. Also, am I dumb or did you shelf "What of Gohan was more like Goku?"
yeah, in my opinion ssj4 fits vegeta more than goku, literally the thing that continued the events of the saiyan saga was goku saying that he's not a saiyan but an earthling
I cant lie, him being arrogant does specifically defy him obtaining god power and UI, is he supposed to be training to be an angel? Hes actually more destructive while Vegeta seems more suited for that role but these personalities seem too forced imo anyway
Agreed. SSJ4 is a cool form tied to Goku and Vegeta's Saiyan roots, and even ties further back into Goku's brief moments of tapping into his Oozaru form like in the original Dragon Ball (such as during the Penetration attack that Kid Goku used to kill Demon King Piccolo). However with Super's current direction for their characters with Goku's Ultra Instinct, Vegeta's Ultra Ego, Gohan's Beast, and Piccolo's Orange... The only person SSJ4 would truly fit if introduced today would be Broly given his Ikari form already channels the power of the Oozaru so it feels like a proper extension of Ikari.
This further demonstrates why Goku always finds a way to be the better overall fighter than almost everybody. He’s been learning since the beginning. And he continues to do so
3:03 Carthu. You have to accept that Jackie Chun is gone. He isn’t Roshi. I know, I miss him too, but our lord and savior Jackie chun would not wish us pain.
Roshi in tournament of power in both anime and manga was truly inspiring like he used his most powerful kamehameha or in the manga where he told goku to listen to his past masters advice that allowed him to discover ultra instinct and vegeta telling goku to trespass into the domain of the gods to defeat jiren is just a moment all anime fans will never forget
