Imagine singing an over 1000 year old German healing spell with a mixed European group + native Americans in a country far far away on the other side of the world and everybody is raving.

@@wither5673 yes, the scripting was dated to middle age, but who knows how old the spell really is. i could easily go back to germanic iron age, like 2000 years, but maybe even to bronce age.

Heilung did a show in North Carolina and had Native Americans join them on stage for the dance ceremony.

One of the most profound experiences I have had was on mushrooms while experiencing their ritual live. I don't believe I could be any closer to the internal primal spirit within myself. Incredible. I have seen them twice now and both times it is mindblowing.

"a good roof flies on its own - they say in Russia. I, as a current resident of Bavaria, confirm this. In these places, fly agaric mushrooms are not needed for psychosphere contact, as we have in Siberia.

The gods have a funny sense of humor, alright. Heilung had already visited my neck of the woods here in Oregon by the time I was officially listening to their music, so it might be another few years before I'd get to see them live. In the meantime, I watch these videos, feel a little bit of that energy rising to the beat of the drums, and totally trip out on inner journeys at work while tuned out to their Spotify playlists. This music cuts through whatever cultural labels that may exist for us descendants of Europeans. It cuts straight down to the primal core of our collective unconsciousness. Gotta find my tribe!

After seeing Crash Worship, everything seems tame comparatively. I need to listen to more of their stuff, but I wasn't expecting quarter-note beats and vocal harmonies. This is like what the local Shakespeare theater troupe, none of whom are drummers, does on nights between D&D games. Intriguing but I need a bit more fire, wine, and danger. These guys aren't tearing open the fabric of the universe to unleash hordes of berserk warriors. That being said, this is my first impression.

Sure! First there is raving, healing, prayer, spiritual development. Then comes slaughter of legions, followed by raiding of monasteries, taking of slaves, extortion of gold, bloodeagleing, heads on spikes. Like with those ante-deluvian lizards on that island. First there is OHHH-AAHHHHH. Then there is running and screaming!

This is the real Europe, the old ways, not that crap they show you on TV or in some city! My roots are from Central Germany, Norway, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, England! We should all go back to our past and carry on our heritage and culture from our ancient ancestors and never let anybody make us ashamed and lower than other nations! They perform with Native Americans at a bunch of their live shows in the US, apparently. If you notice, a lot of the traditional instruments and (presumably) traditional costumes and face paint also resemble historical garb or instruments from other indigenous peoples in various parts of the world. Because if you go back far enough in time, all humans come from the same place, and we share a lot of common aesthetics, due to all being the same species.
You are one tiny part of a network made from billions of conscious, social beings; a complex chain that spans backwards and forwards through time. Just like your body is a vast network of billions of cells, and just like all humans are part of an interminably huge web of life-forms and nonliving microbes throughout the universe.
But sure, keep jerking yourself off about what constructed language you grew up speaking, which constructed set of borders you were born inside, and (let's be honest about what you're really signaling here) how much melanin you have in your skin.
It all definitely matters and indicates your personal worth, and is definitely not cosmically insignificant and based on random chance. And some group of Foreigners (TM) is definitely trying to take it away from you... Somehow.
