I'm a licensed plumber in Tucson Az. Had a fridge like yours and it quit after a year, Samsung wouldn't help and I had no time so bought another fridge. But set this one in the garage for 2 years for some reason. We decided to paint the walls and ceiling in garage so everything had to come out. Half way up the ramp to my dump trailer I turned around and set it back down for 2 days until garage was done, found your video and from those 2 tests appliance store and install I'm like 2 hrs in it total and the fridge temp is dropping like a champion! Your video was not infact a waste of time and if it hasn't helped anyone else just know that I'm grateful! Thank you!
Thank you for this video! You saved me hundreds of dollars for a repair call when it was just a relay replacement. The trick is knowing what to replace and you solved that.
Thanks for sharing! My compressor was running, thicking and quiet warm. Freezer was working well, but in the refridgerator was not cooling and no airflow inside it from vents. When getting the trays out of the freezer, I noticed it was frozen and clogged up, the lowest tray I couldn't even remove due stuck frozen and all water around frozen blocking all airvents. So the clogged up ice in the freezer prevented the airflow from the freezer to the fridge, preventing cooling. This all due I dind't defrost the freezer in a long time.. oops! Not very good for the effective cooling of the fridge and the freezer itself and more working for the compressor I guess. Hope this helps someone!
Thanks so, so much Bill . I checked for continuity between the hot and the blue and it was ok, checked AC same and only 30v so figured had power into LV side of relay but no HV output. Tapped the relay with screwdriver and hey presto! 240v and the compressor fired up woo hoo! Noticed when tapping repay blue flash inside so not great. Was going to source a new relay and resolder along with the other same one on board but found a board on ebay for £86 so figured as fridge is old this more future proof option. Note that my board is a DA41-00188A but told by Samsung this has been suoerseeded with a DA141-00388A board.Relay is a OZ-SS-112L1 if that helps anyone. Been told by a fridge guy to replace the big silver capacitor that sits next to board while all apart as this can damage relays and compressor if not working correctly and they are cheap security. they are a RNV40H5004 which are about £20 but most electronics shops have equivalent 5uF ones for about £7. Im also repacing the relay that sits on side of compressor so all new relays in the maching as this is only £16. Really appreciate the video couldnt have done this wthout it. I love watching your videos,I have a french door Samsung refrigerator and bottom freezer,the top refrigerator is working perfect but the freezer on the bottom does not freezer,the fan runs fine and I replaced the thermo defrost sensor and temperature sensor and still not freezing,cleaned the evaporator coils and still nothing,what else can I check ?
Thank you so much! my Samsung fridge has the EXACT same problem. Flexing the board/relay triggered the the compressor to turn on. im going to try and remelt the solder joints for that relay and see if that permanently fixes the issue
Awesome video! My frig is down the same thing. Would that also my the back of the frig frost up? Or do I have a defrost heater going bad? The frig will run fine for a day or two but then warm up to 60 in the frig and 20 in the freezer. Would love to hear what you think. Thanks, JC

So the compressor comes on and then off again - pretty quick but the fridge and freezer temp never goes down much at all so is running about +16 (freezer) and +20(fridge) - does that mean it’s the pcb that’s the issue as it’s not telling the compressor to stay on? Compressor is hot, compressor fan and evaporator fan runs fine. Condenser is clean. Still fried and freezer not cooling at all. Any suggestions? Thanks
so i have a rf28hmedbsr model that has all the fans functioning, and ive replaced the invertor board and pcb.The compressor makes a noise when it starts then gets quiet, but when i put my hand on it it appears to be running. However I have no cool area in area of the fridge. Ive checked the compressor pressure and it looks fine with the refigerant in it. Any ideas on why it may be not cooling at all?
I am having a similar issue with a larger "French Door" Samsung fridge, and wondering if a bad relay would also prevent the inside fans from powering on? I am hearing and feeling nothing on the compressor, but also the interior fans are not moving at all.
I found out that if something wrong with the fan motor at the back of the freezer up compartment it can also prevent the compressor fan from starting for whatever reason

My husband was amazed...but when i shut off the power in the breaker box to fix the washer.. (cause I was too short to reach the power cord )..the freezer/fridge stopped working again.. Can a 3 in 1 relay go bad.. even if i just had that part replaced just 2-3 months ago?..i can hear it trying to engage.. but it wont start the compressor?
+Carmen Cales You have to leave a fridge unplugged for a few minutes before trying to start it back up when power is lost, to let the pressure equalize so the compressor can start running. Hopefully you got yours going?
Our Samsung warms excessively probably once per day now (steadily getting worse over 4yrs). Only resetting breaker causes compressor to start again, so maybe it also is a relay problem. Thanks for info.
Bill, I have this same make and model and the people around me you're telling me it's not worth repairing the compressor one price was $700. In all my search says it should be around $380-$400. The compressor is definitely bad I washed your other video and tested between the prongs. Please advise me.

Yes the relay can be changed alone.... BUT sometimes a bad solder joint on the board will have that same effect, noticed when he wiggled and flexed the board it started up ....... Really bad contacts in the relay will not do that in most cases......
Hi Bill model number rf26XAEBP, unplugged for 10 minutes comes back in OF OF (demo mode I guess) I reset it using top left and right button. I resets for 3 seconds then goes back into OF OF. How do I test the front door panel or is it shot or something else? Thanks
i have a whirlpool frost free 250l refr, some times the comp. relay would not turn on even after 24hrs, so i replaced with a new 24v relay, system uses capacitor dropper & 5W zeners for 5V & 24V supply , the live mains is always connected to the low voltage ckts, only thing protecting them is the capacitor dropper which they placed in the neutral path.the 5.1v zener reads 4.7V (tested separately)min should be 4.8V could it be due to this, the pannel indicators cooloing selection works fine even the defrost heater works fine, so now i have connected a aliexpress temp controller parallel to the c & no contacts of the compressor relay, & removed the defrost heater relay, & connected a manual s/w for defrosting.
The relay was bad because it started sticking. Tapping it got it to "work" again, but that wouldn't be a long term fix. Replacing the board would be the way to go.
+heavydiesel Still deciding, I think I'm going to cut the plastic off the top of the relay and look at the contacts and make a decision if they can be cleaned or if they are burnt up and go from there. The board is like a 100 bucks. The fridge was free. I want to give it to my mother, so I need to make sure it will be reliable for her.
It is unusual for a relay to fail like this. Unless it was the bad apple of relays. I tested mine 2023 and was still working properly. However, now 2024 I think I might have the problem described here. Note, my relay has been in service for about 17 years before experiencing the symptoms described here. This Samsung was a headache for me. First service bill of $200 occurred when the refrigerator reached 2 years of service.

Lets solder in a new relay, if it is common for the contacts to become worn from on and off arcing, I would put a capacitor across the contacts to absorb the surge. just a idea. got it Bill.

My Samsung technician was trying to explain to me that my mainboard needs to be replaced and as he was talking, we heard the compressor kick on and he said "See, the compressor is running but the inside isn't cool. That means we need to replace the mainboard." He was just lying through his teeth to get us to pay extra wasn't he? Samsung claims the sealed system is under warranty but he claimed he needed to replace the mainboard and charge me $500 before he could fix the sealed system.
Ok so im having an issue with mine its not cooling but i see the fan and the compressor running but when i plug it in i get an 1 e code i reset it and still does not cool but everytime i unplug and plug it in i get that same 1 e code hopefully someone can help pls thanks

ended up replacing the relay with an automotive relay, works flawlessly now. took apart the old relay and saw that the contacts were burnt up.

So why not go from the sky blue wire to white neutral wire? To see if it completed the circuit.

about 2 months ago on MARKETPLACE on CBC here in canada the show was about a lady who bought a samsung fridge.. 2200$...lasted about a year and got warm.. nobody would pay for repairs.. samsung said no.. not our fault.. so she called CBC and they went after samsung and thennnn samsung paid for the repairs and the labor .. 1000$ or something.. . ..ps.. the panel of repair men in the studio said.. modern appliances you dont fix after a few yrs.. pitch them.. they dont build them like they used to.. ..MY MOMS MAYTAG WASHER DRYER IS FROM 1980 NEVER BROKE TO THIS DAY..KNOCK ON WOOD..

I looked at one of my friend fridge and it just fezzes to a big block of ice I'm thinking the defrost is not kicking in but I can't find it would u happened to know where it is it a Samsung like that one but this one has two doors on top

What would it be if the whole fan and compressor not working
and you cant find parts because its made in china.. or the entire board has to be replaced to the cost of a new fridge.. right?

+san379 You can always rebuild a board, all parts are generic except for the
IC's and Eproms.
What if all of this checks good but the compressor still doesn't come on?
So by the relay being bad you would have to replace the whole board...
My Samsung technician was trying to explain to me that my mainboard needs to be replaced and as he was talking, we heard the compressor kick on and he said "See, the compressor is running but the inside isn't cool. That means we need to replace the mainboard." He was just lying through his teeth to get us to pay extra wasn't he? Samsung claims the sealed system is under warranty but he claimed he needed to replace the mainboard and charge me $500 before he could fix the sealed system.
Ok so im having an issue with mine its not cooling but i see the fan and the compressor running but when i plug it in i get an 1 e code i reset it and still does not cool but everytime i unplug and plug it in i get that same 1 e code hopefully someone can help pls thanks
