Nice video. Please consider keeping the TRD skid plate (and adding red lettering) when you upgrade the rest of the under body armor with CBI plates. That would look awesome.
Now you’re making me think about bigger things. When you said something about going to Iceland it reminded me of a question that I have been trying to get answered. How did you get your vehicles there boat, train, airplane what?
I have a 97 4 runner that I change the oil on and trying to take off the skid plate is a huge pain in the neck, but I don’t do that step, then a lot of the oil spills out onto the plate since the drain hole is not big enough making one big mess.
There's a reason Toyota gives a torque spec for every threaded fastener on the truck. Too bad these numbers are not released to Dealership Techs or TH-camrs....... LOL Another nice vid. Keep up the good work.
@@ron8975 true, they dont know any better or arnt taight it sometimes. However the dealer i worked at had preset torque wrenches for the drain bolts for every tech even the lube techs
as a master mechanic thats done more oil changes then anyone every should have .. i have better luck with the stemp steal oil cups then the aluminum ones ... when it comes to slipping
The most highly produced oil change I believe I've ever watched. Nicely done 😉
Thanks for joining us! We hope this quick 'how to' is helpful for your next project! Have a great weekend everyone!
The knowledge is not needed but I watch anyway as it's Expedition Overland and Tanner.
Just got a new 4runner TRD PRO, keep making these!
@@williamgindt2541 thank you!
3/8 Impact works great on the filter drain. A seem of oil on the oring makes it easy next time.
Please do a video on changing transfer case and front differential as well!?
I have one of those Portable Fold-Up Work Platform, never ever considered using it as a work bench/top. Genius!
Hi Tanner, great episode! Tell the Family hi, from the Cuz in WY.

Love the pic for this video. Go Tanner. LOL

If only my garage looked like that! I would totally do it my self
A lift is only $2500
Great video. Need more like this.
Good video, let me include the FJ cruiser in that lot, same set up on later models with bottom mounted oil filter housings.
Nicely done, exactly how i change my oil.
I miss Jeff, but I like this guy.

Looks easy!
Can that 0W20 Ultra Premium good with all temperatures, vehicles, and conditions?

What do you mean by not realeased? Aldata or Mitchell has all the torque specs you need
Thanks!
@@willmcpherson3760 tell that to the lube tech at the dealership

same as the FJ as well.
Can you give us an update of all the XO rigs? I have been wondering what cars you have now in the fleet.
Thank you. Where I change my oil, they have not had changed the small O ring ever. They throw it away every time
Not trying to be a jerk but follow proper torque specs and the filter housing drain plug will not get stuck on like that.

This may be a stupid question, but why that oil filter instead of the regular screw on canister?
I think it is less waste, possibly cheaper too
Pennzoil?? Mobil 1 is the way. Protects for 20,000 miles! 🇺🇸
Mobil 1 is great too! We’ve had great experience with both but are noticing how much cleaner this synthetic oil runs 👍🏼
@@ExpeditionOverland M1 is a full synthetic! (Full disclosure, I work for Mobil, so I may be a little biased, haha) 😉
You can make a funnel out of a quart oil jug. Just cut the bottom off it.
TH-cam: "Any advice for dropping the skid plate?"
Tanner Johnson: "Use your head"
hey clay i have a question. how is odin doing. have you used it at all recently
They sold odin.
HEY WHATS THE TORQUE FOR BOTH THE DRAIN PLUG AND OIL FILTER CAP?
18ft lb for housing canister
10ft lb for housing filter drain plug
14ft lb for oil pan drain plug
Cartridge oil filters are the dumbest thing ever on a vehicle. Spin on forever
To much for just oil change I'll stick to my bronco
