I absolutely love Tango & Cash! The fact that the entire film works as good as it does is actually a miracle. The entire production fell apart pretty much as soon as filming began, and it's rumored that Kurt Russell actually took over as the director for the film. Jack Palance as the main villian is obviously a last minute addition in order to explain how everything is supposed to fit together, but he plays it with such relish that you can't help but enjoy it. The entire film is a barely functioning mess held together by cheese and explosions and its great!
After reading about what went on behind the scenes with this film it is indeed a miracle anything ended up on screen at all considering it had multiple cuts as well as so much drama when filming. All that could be one of the factors that has prevented a sequel from happening for so long too.

According to Brion James (the henchman with the hilariously bad Australian accent [EDIT: or maybe it's supposed to be Cockney?]), it was Stallone who took over and ghost directed and produced for a while.
From Kurt Russell I recommend Backdraft, one of the best firefighting movies that exist, filmed with real fire and practicals FX, the fire sequences are really impressive.
Another movie in the same style and tone you guys should watch is the 1991 action comedy The Last Boy Scout directed by Tony Scott (Ridley's brother), and with a script written by Shane Black (who wrote also scripts for Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Long Kiss Goodnight and The Nice guys). Really violent and gritty, but Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans and the wonderful performance of child actress Danielle Harris really make it work. For this movie, what makes this pretty much by the number action comedy float a bit above the rest is the chemistry and comedic timing of both Stallone and Kurt Russel. They're simply engaging and excellent on the screen together.
@Dayspring Respect your opinion though i highly disagree. I think the movie is quite entertaining. Though not Black's best script by far. That would be Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys.
AHHH, FINALLY! Finally, someone did a reaction to this. Probably the only action flick from the 80's that I go back to regularly, just so good, with the cheesiness and how easy the humor is, it ticks all the boxes for something to watch, if you need a pick-up after a tough day, or to have some laughs in general. Also - it's so quotable, it's actually ridiculous, as a gamer, the line "With your IQ, you're unarmed, but still very dangerous" is just absolute gold.
“NightHawks”. Sylvester Stallone and Billy Dee Williams. “NightHawks” is a really good, gritty buddy cop drama where they hunt down a serial killer in New York. Cult classic early in Stallone’s career. Awesome movie
Another vote for Nighthawks. I think it's one of Stallone's best films. And with Rutger Hauer, you can't go wrong. Oh and react to The Hitcher (1986) at some point.
The guy with the pony-tail was played by Brion James who is best known for his role as Leon the replicant in the original Blade Runner. His accent definitely comes from the Dick Van Dyke school of bad cockney accents. If you want to see Kurt Russel do more straight comedy as a bit of a change from his action stuff I can't recommend highly enough the 1987 romantic comedy Overboard, which he made with his real life long time partner Goldie Hawn.
Brion James was in many films in 1980s and 1990s as a character actor often as villains and was in 48 Hours in 1982 as a cop Kehoe with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy and its sequel Another 48 Hours in 1990. He was in Bruce Willis cop thriller Striking Distance as a cop to which was rare to see him as a good guy and Fifth Element again with Bruce Willis before his death in 1999. Tombstone was a classic western with Kurt Russell and his drama Backdraft with him as a troubled fire fighter is a classic to.
Seeing Jack Palance reminded me of the movie "City Slickers". And for some reason that reminded of the movie "Beverly Hills Cop" which in turn reminded me of the movie "48 Hours". All are worth watching.
I've seen this film muliple times over the past 30 years, literally since it came out, and I never picked up on them being in a maze at the end! Thanks for pointing that out!
Tango & Cash!!!! One of those more obscure movies of the 80s that deserves more respect (I just love it!). Please ad the 1986 movie "F/X" to your list to react to (Does not star Stallone or Russel but it is inline with such 1980s movie classics as Tango & Cash; and it's sequel "F/X2" (1991). It's not as much action but great suspense)
As far as 80's movies go... this one is self-aware in regards to the cheesiness. Take it as a comedy, cartoon, or caricature, if you will. No it won't win an oscar in the writing department but that's not the point. Action is done well and is reflected by great practical effects where it's clear some decent budget was spent. This movie is akin to the modern Fast and Furious franchise, with the key goal being to entertain which it does in spades. If you come it trying to watch this analytically you will be disappointed, but if not it's a fun, easy watch.
Apparently Stallone has written a sequel, and wants to make it if Russel will (and can) do it. But he's not counting on it. This was only back in 2019 Stallone said that so... could be possible. At the very least it's nice to know there is a script out there. Just wish I could read it.
Kurt Russel is an underrated dark horse for his whole career. Action? He can do it. Comedy? He's got that. Little drama? Yeah. Whatever he's in, he nails
Oh I don't know that underrated is the right word, he is a notch above all the other 80s/90s action stars he often gets lumped with because he's a child actor and a former Disney guy. He's got the chops to do whatever and has - he pretty much saved Tombstone from being a disaster.
@@hadoken95 yeah, underrated wasnt really the word I wanted to use but couldnt thing of a better one. Lol. Its like, he doesn't normally cross your mind but when he does it's like "damn, hes awsome"
You guys should watch "Used Cars" (1980). Directed, (and partially written) by Robert Zemeckis, and staring Kurt Russell. This movie is hilarious, and a fantastic ride. Additionally, you should check out "Blind Date" (1987) Bruce Willis, Kim Bassinger, John Larroquette, Phil Hartman, and directed by Blake Edwards. This movie is what set the standard for Bruce Willis getting torn apart pre "Die Hard". It's hilarious, and a great story. Not to mention that there's part of the movie that goes to a art party that celebrates H.R. Geiger, whom created "Alien"
Used Cars is one if my favorite comedies of all time. Saw a sneak preview before it was released. We knee nothing about it. Hilarious. "$50 never killed anybody". That same summer we got one of my other all time favorite comedies, The Blues Brothers.
My favorite "Used Cars" quote: "WE'RE BLOWIN' THE SHIT OUTTA THAT HIGH-PRICED MUTHAH-FUCKAH, YA' SIR!" For "Blind Date", it's: "MOONWALK! ..... I HATE THAT SHIT!" *Gun shot. Gun shot. Gun shot."
One of my absolute favorites from Stallone and Russell. It has all the things i love about 80's action movies tightly packaged together. It's one of those movies that has it's entire focus on entertaining viewer and does it so well i can't help but love it.
how can people hate this movie? its entertaining 80ies Buddy-Action. Saw it in cinemas back than and about a year ago - its still a lot of fun and a good time!
Youngsters or boomers who didn't grow up in the '80s gotta be the only haters to this. If you were a '70s or early '80s child, this film is perfect for that decade. I suppose pretend film crickets can hate it too because they are just snobs. Otherwise, it's entertaining and that's all you need in a good movie.
All Stallone movies hold their own - Cobra - Oscar - Assasins - The Specialist - Over the Top - Judge Dred - All Rambos - All Rockys - Demolition man - Get Carter - Copland I know I'm missing some
They were technically together in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. But if you want some cheesy 80s action at its best, definitely check out Stallone's Cobra.
Seeing Jack Palance makes me realize you should watch "Shane," a classic western. Also, I am pretty sure Kurt Russell and Stallone *do* get along as Kurt Russell has always been very complimentary towards him. Like, they were both in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, for which, in an interview, Russell said: “It was great to be able to, once again, hang with Sly. He’s a really huge person. His demeanor, everything about him. He always puts a smile on my face, and we share lots of laughs. I find him to be very smart and very funny - and alive… He’s a great hang. This was just fun, being in the same sandbox. It was nice to have that connection again.”
They got along just fine in this film. It was the process of making the film that was hard, especially after reading about the enormous amount of drama that went on via the technical side.
4:24 - Fun fact: In many/most areas of the United States police departments and/or the city are not legally responsible for any damage that cops cause to private property while "performing their duty". There have been cases of cops completely destroying houses while trying to apprehend a single suspect and then the city tells the owners that they're SOL when they try to get reimbursed, even if the cops had the wrong address. Many people have said that cops see such incidents as training opportunities to use the military style hardware that they've been allowed to purchase. 11:55 - That's Clint Howard, brother of Ron Howard, star of the show Happy Days and also a well known director today. 12:25 - It's a bad accept, the actor, Brion James, was born in California. He was Leon, the replicant in Blade Runner. "My mother? I'll tell you about my mother! [BOOM!]" 24:55 - Google says that the average fuse time on a grenade is about four seconds, although it can vary from 2-8 seconds. Movies usually have unrealisticly long times. Like in Die Hard 2 where they take about 30 seconds to go off.
Looking forward to watching this with you. I don't think I've seen this since the early 90's on VHS. I remember I enjoyed it but I remember jack all about it. Let's go!
If you want a really good Kurt Russell film that's a little different, you need to watch 'Soldier' It's a great film showing how diverse his acting can be Also Backdraft is another favourite
People hate on "Soldier" for some reason, but Kurt Russell was SO GOOD in it. It's amazing how he was playing a person who was bred to be emotionally surpressed, yet Russell still managed to convey so much. A really affecting performance.
I always loved this movie growing up. I missed a lot of jokes, though! A little-known Stallone movie with an all-star cast is Oscar. One of my favorite movies!
The old man in the limo was Jack Parlance. Hollywood royalty. Also the boss in the 1989 tim Burton Batman movie, and stunning in the Billy Crystal comedy, city slickers!
Hey TBR, for a fun casting note. The crooked FBI agent Wyler is played by the late, great Lewis Arquette. He was a member of a unique acting dynasty that includes his son David (Dewey from the Scream movies), Patricia (Alabama from True Romance, which you guys reacted to), and Rosanna (Madonna's costar from a movie called Desperately Seeking Susan). Also, Patricia is the ex-wife of Nicolas Cage and Thomas Jane, who played the Punisher in the 2004 movie adaptation with John Travolta and the dad in The Mist, another you reacted to for the Halloween season of 2021. And the sound technician that Cash threatened with a shotgun is played by the late Michael Jeter, who played Del the prisoner who made Mr Jingles his pet in The Green Mile, another channel reaction from a while ago. He also was the mean clown from Air Bud. And the short Mr. Noodle from Sesame Street. He unfortunately passed away in 2003 from a seizure at the age of 51. RIP to him and Lewis Arquette. Both were underappreciated actors.
I live in Cincinnati, Ohio where parts of this Movie were made including the Prison scene, the City had an old Prison that was still active at that time and that's what they used, I remember reading in the paper when they all arrived and both Stallone & Russell loved riding Harley's, they rented 2 of them locally & would be seen riding around the City together, also each morning they were in town, Stallone would get up early and jog around downtown for 45 mins before he started his day, we drove around a couple of times to see them and got some photos and autographs, no one really bothered them so we did not mind asking, and they did not have any bodyguards or anyone with them, I remember my Wife & I drove by him while he was jogging and I drove by not too slow to make sure it was Stallone & then when he caught up with us my Wife had the Window down and he said good morning & we both said your Sylvester Stallone, he said I know thank you and we all laughed, I said I was a huge fan and he said Thank you, I really appreciate that and I appreciate all of my Fans, i said would you mind if we got a photo with you & Autograph because we rarely if ever get a chance to see anyone famous around here and he stopped jogging & said sure, we talked about 5 mins after about the City and things he could visit and see and some places to eat and we gave him some tips and he said thank you but it's been nice chatting but I must finish my Jog & get ready for a full day of filming, it was pretty cool. He really seemed like a down to earth guy not like we expected.
Nighthawks, Cliffhanger and Cop Land are great Stallone movies to check out, Used Cars, Breakdown and Escape from New York are three awesome ones with Kurt.👍
Cool choice... Stallone and Russell are really funny in this movie... Like this line when Russell says " I don't think rehabilitation is working here"... The movie "Overboard" with Russell is nice too !
32:40 - This movie had a litany of production problems which is why a sequel was nowhere near a remote possibility. Production started without a completed script. Kurt Russell was a last-minute addition as Cash was originally supposed to be played by Patrick Swayze (he dropped out to star in Road House - 1989). Stallone clashed with the director and had him fired over creative differences. The production went overbudget resulting in a less-than-ideal commercial launch. Regardless, I grew up watching it and consider it an 80's cult classic as it pretty much marked the end of an era.
The scene where Tango (Stallone) stops the gas truck with his 'special' bullets was an almost 1:1-copy from the first "Police Force" movie with Jackie Chan in the leading role, which came several years prior to "Tango and Cash". The only difference between these scenes are the cars : While here it is a gas truck, it is an (old) English bus in "Police Force".
I saw this in the theater when it came out. Loads of fun! Glad to see you are checking out these fun films! You two are fun to watch. I love your reactions. Keep it up!
There was a character actor in this that appears in another movie you two MUST watch. Look for Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges "The Fisher King". Trust me on this.
You guys grow on me fast. You enjoy watching movies together is an enjoyment for me and bring back memories watching these classics many, many moons ago. Keep up the good work.
Loved this movie. Loved the story. Buddy cop perfection. The polar opposite dynamic gets no cooler than this. The music by Harold Faltermeyer (Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun) was so good. Both characters each had theme music and you can tell the difference. The end of the 1980s and we got a nice going-way present.
Definitely need to check out the Stallone movie "Cobra". It's another great action movie that flew under the radar back in the 80s, but has become a cult classic. Y'all will definitely love it. Edit: y'all should also check out Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry series of films.
Cobra is one of my favorite Stallone films. The other is Oscar, if it's not been done yet. Mobster shenanigans are the best if they're not too slapstick.
Glad you both had fun with this one. I like to call it an "almost parody" since it seems much more comedic and self-aware than your typical action movie from the 80s. It's just too ridiculous to ever take seriously.
Thanks for doing this one, I saw it when it was in the theaters! ... Now, I hope one day you will do "Tequila Sunrise"! It has Kurt Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Mel Gibson. It was tastefully done, and the music is great! Cheers from northeast Ohio.
Tango and Cash is a good action/ comedy buddy cop movie. If you want to see a very good action/ comedy/ bad ass/ serious buddy cop movie that started a franchise watch Lethal Weapon.
You should watch the first "Police Story" film starring, co-written, and directed by Jackie Chan. The opening stunt of Tango stopping the truck was taken from Police Story 1. It has a lot of great action and comedy from Chan. Police Story is a big franchise with 8 films including 3 sequels, 2 spin-offs, and 2 remakes (both starring Jackie but more dramatic and less comedic than the original films).
Another action film from around the same time you might enjoy is "The Last Boy Scout" (1991) with Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans. If you like Stallone spruced up in suits, check out the comedy "Oscar" (1991) where he plays a prohibition era mobster trying to go legit, several other recognizable players in this film. Another enjoyable Kurt Russel film is "Overboard" (1987), a comedy with Goldie Hawn, he's a jack of all trades sort and she's a rich girl that gets amnesia. :D
This is yet ANOTHER childhood fave that I'll just never tire of, lol! Glad you two finally got to join in on the Stallone/Russell fun with this one. KEEP 'EM COMIN'... 😁
I remember going to the theater to watch this movie with big expectations and coming out of it disappointed. Then I watched it again on the TV and started enjoying scenes like the interrogation on the roof; I liked it much better when my expectations were low.
In September 2019, Stallone revealed that he has a story written for a potential sequel. The filmmaker stated he is trying to convince Kurt Russell to sign onto the project, though he anticipates the film will be made
Generally I hate cheesy movies, but this one just works somehow even with cheese factor cranked to 11 :P I'm glad you two enjoyed it! I hope you'll watch Oscar (1991) if you want a pure Stallone comedy (pure as in not an action flick).
Actually if you want another awesome action film with Kurt Russel in it, I cannot recommend the move "Soldier" enough, 1998 action film. Another one worth a watch with him in it is 3000 Miles to Graceland which also has Kevin Costner in it, that one is definitely a lot of cussing though lol. He also plays good roles in Executive Decision, Backdraft and Tombstone (must watch).

This film was directed by russian director Andrey Konchalovsky who during production of this film had a lot of battles with main producer about creative differences. So, on the later stages of filming two different directors take over to finish filming Peter McDonald and Albert Magnoli. It was trouble production, but Andrey manage to made a damn cool movie! Wish there was a sequel!)
It was directed, mostly, by famous soviet/russian filmmaker Andrei Konchalovsky - in later stages he was fired by the producer who wanted the film to be goofy and almost like a spoof while Konchalovsky wanted more serious tone. So there's the reason why humour and tone of the film are quite contrived. Check out Arnold's 80s obscure action film Raw Deal.
This movie is one of my favourites! So happy you watched it and appreciated it as it is. Tango and Cash is ridicilous but so entertaining. The amount of oneliners is staggering. 😅
You have to watch Oscar. It's a great comedy, with a great cast, headlined by Stallone. He plays a mob boss trying to go straight. It's my favorite Stallone movie! And for a great Kurt Russell action movie, try Soldier. I think Kurt has 5 lines in the whole movie, but he carries it with his presence alone.
Have you ever seen Kurt Russell in his younger roles? he played in several tv shows as a kid... I remember seeing him as the teen character Dexter Riley in the Disney films "The computer wore tennis shows" (1969), "Now you see him, now you don't" (1972) and "The strongest man in the world" (1975).... damn, I feel old o_O :D
Jack Palance who played drug lord Yvets Perret made a career of playing villains including the western Shane in 1953 as the sadistic hired gun Jack Wilson who kills a innocent man in the iconic scene and goes against Alan Ladds Shane. He was the crime boss Carl Grissom in Batman in 1989 and later in the Comedy City Slickers.
One of my absolute favourite "Don't think, just enjoy" movies. SO MUCH cheese, one-liners for days, obvious henchmen, just pure fun. And of course, Michael J Pollard and Michael Jeter were both great as always.
You may want to watch a movie called "Lock up". Stallone in jail, from 1987 I believe. You will enjoy it as the rest of the movies from that wonderful era.
I live 8 minutes away from this prison... and I was watching them film that rainy nighttime scene, as I was parked on the side of the road. This is the same prison that The Shawshank redemption was filmed at.
4:10 - I thought I was seeing things, but this "car owner" is Saveliy Kramarov. He was one of the best known comedy actors in Sovien Union cinema. Anyone born who was alive in 70s and up knows his face. A brilliant actor. His movie quotes are known by most people speaking Russian. But he moved to US for a better life and that means leaving lead roles behind.
Wow, that's so interesting! So he must have been hired by Andrei Konchalovsky when he was still the director on this project. Konchalovsky's first American film "Runaway Train" is one of my favorite films of the 80s, and is an overlooked gem. I wish more Soviet directors would have worked in the West, but Hollywood probably would not have known what to do with them.
@@Johnny_Socko Soviet movies are different in style from US. I remember how different american movies looked and felt when I first saw them. The Little Mermaid was a whole new experience.
@@ScarlettM You might say it was "a whole new world". 😉 But it was thanks to Konchalovsky that I got more interested in Soviet cinema. That and an English language film called The Red Tent (1969) -- that one was directed by Mikhail K. Kalatazov, and I discovered that he had directed a famous Soviet film called The Cranes are Flying. That turned out to be one of the most amazing films I've ever seen. But I don't think he made any more English films after The Red Tent.

Perfectly explained 👌🏼
It's like Commando, this movies are in the podium of the 80's action movies that can't be taken seriously to enjoy them
Apparently Stallone has written a sequel, and wants to make it if Russel will (and can) do it.
@@secret8993 I loved backdraft growing up. Great movie
I remember when he lifted over 1,000 lbs overhead to win his college's weight lifting competition.
He even played a role as a computer (who wore tennis shoes).
Used Cars is an underappreciated comedic masterpiece. "50 bucks never killed anybody"
“Are you alright Agnus?”
My favorite "Used Cars" quote: "WE'RE BLOWIN' THE SHIT OUTTA THAT HIGH-PRICED MUTHAH-FUCKAH, YA' SIR!"
For "Blind Date", it's: "MOONWALK!
.....
I HATE THAT SHIT!"
*Gun shot. Gun shot.
And don't forget Top Gun, which is probably his best score.
I think its cause the ‘action’ is pretty much at the end, for a buddy cop movie thats pretty bad. I want action throughout!
Because its not some fantastical orchestra of cinematography like most people demand just a simple fun movie to entertain and it does well at that
How can people hate this movie? Because it’s a piece of crap that’s why.👍
Kurt Russell also starred in Stargate (1994). Made by the same filmmakers as Independence Day (1996), which I don't think you've reacted to yet.
You should check out 'The Thirteenth Floor' if you haven't seen it. A Roland Emmerich movie that kind of gets forgotten.

"Awwwwwww, c'mon guys! Talk to me!" Great character actor.
There's a photo of them with James Gunn and the GotG 2 main cast on Gunn's IG feed.
[BOOM!]"
24:55 - Google says that the average fuse time on a grenade is about four seconds, although it can vary from 2-8 seconds. Movies usually have unrealisticly long times. Like in Die Hard 2 where they take about 30 seconds to go off.
Great movie. Kurt Russial has some great underrated movies you should see like Breakdown and Executive Decesion.
Looking forward to watching this with you. I don't think I've seen this since the early 90's on VHS. I remember I enjoyed it but I remember jack all about it. Let's go!
Haha hope you enjoy and it brings back some good memories!
@@TBRSchmitt Now next Stallone film has to be "Cobra" :)
this was literally the most 80's movie with the action dial up to 11 lmfao, one of my favourite movie of all time for sure.
Come on why would you hate this movie? It's hilarious!
to me, it's one of the most quotable movies of all time. It's like non stop one liners
"why's yours bigger than mine?"
"genetics peewee"
If you want a really good Kurt Russell film that's a little different, you need to watch 'Soldier'
It's a great film showing how diverse his acting can be
Also Backdraft is another favourite
People hate on "Soldier" for some reason, but Kurt Russell was SO GOOD in it. It's amazing how he was playing a person who was bred to be emotionally surpressed, yet Russell still managed to convey so much. A really affecting performance.
solider is a good movie as is Backdraft is a classic. Another favorite of mine of Kurt Russell’s is Tombstone
I hope Oscar is on your list of Stallone movies. He's hilarious in it.
That movie is fucking great
Lol I forgot all about that movie
I was trying to remember the name of that movie. Thanks!
Tim Curry steals every scene he's in.
Oh absolutely. A great movie and a different role for Stallone and yes Tim Curry is always awesome.
Tango & Cash was like the 80's version of the 90's movie Face/Off
... having two cool actors team up.
I'm in the "love it" crowd. This movie is such a guilty pleasure.
Nighthawks, Cliffhanger and Cop Land are great Stallone movies to check out, Used Cars, Breakdown and Escape from New York are three awesome ones with Kurt.👍
I'd recommend Cop Land as well.
Cool choice... Stallone and Russell are really funny in this movie... Like this line when Russell says " I don't think rehabilitation is working here"... The movie "Overboard" with Russell is nice too !
I saw this back in the day, and this is still one of my favorite action movies of the 80s
Best thing about this movie is Kurt's mullet. That is a thing of beauty.
Gotta watch "midnight run" with Robert deniro and Charles grodin. A great romp of a movie. Terrific cast.
Definitely, one of my favourite movies ever. The late Charles grodin's deadpan delivery is so funny.
Both Kurt and Stallone can buddy up with anyone and make a good movie as well as carry a movie on their own. Same as Arnie.
They truly will go down in history
The scene where Tango (Stallone) stops the gas truck with his 'special' bullets was an almost 1:1-copy from the first "Police Force" movie with Jackie Chan in the leading role, which came several years prior to "Tango and Cash".
The only difference between these scenes are the cars : While here it is a gas truck, it is an (old) English bus in "Police Force".
Is it a carbon copy ?
I saw this in the theater when it came out. Loads of fun! Glad to see you are checking out these fun films! You two are fun to watch. I love your reactions. Keep it up!
There was a character actor in this that appears in another movie you two MUST watch. Look for Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges "The Fisher King". Trust me on this.
Yeeees! I saw the legend as well, i think he left his mouse at home. In all seriousness he died of hiv the poor bugger, damn
Love Cobra. Sort of an action slasher film.
I feel the same way about Cobra as I do about The Road Warrior. My enthusiasm falters a bit after his car is destroyed.
@@spencerbookman2523 Facts.
Cobra is one of my favorite Stallone films. The other is Oscar, if it's not been done yet. Mobster shenanigans are the best if they're not too slapstick.
Cobra is terrible! I love it!!!
Glad you both had fun with this one. I like to call it an "almost parody" since it seems much more comedic and self-aware than your typical action movie from the 80s. It's just too ridiculous to ever take seriously.
Haven’t watched this movie in decades. Exactly as I remember-just good cheesy fun. Glad you guys did this one.
What a rare suggestion. Thank you. That’s, better than this.
Yeah, that was an unusually human depiction of various characters.
Tequila Sunrise is one of my favorite movies and I have the soundtrack as well. Joann's Song is my favorite. I love Dave Grusin and David Sanborn.
We really need a sequel right now 😎
This is really good fun movie. Great chemistry between Stallone and Russell.
Such a great cast. Terri Hatcher, Jack Palance, Brion James, Michael J Pollard, and the late great Robert Z'dar.
"I hate danish". Stallone having just divorced (Danish) MAW (Model/Actress/Whatever) Brigitte Nielsen. Classic zing.
Guys if you want to react more of Kurt Russell i recommend Executive Decision and Breakdown, greets, also Cliffhanger from Stallone too
Tango and Cash is a good action/ comedy buddy cop movie.
:D
Love The Last Boy Scout 👌🏾
This is yet ANOTHER childhood fave that I'll just never tire of, lol! Glad you two finally got to join in on the Stallone/Russell fun with this one. KEEP 'EM COMIN'...
😁
Hard to believe how good and such a typical 80s type movie this was!!
I love the newspaper headline at 10:32 "Gulity Tango & Cash get eighteen months". 18 moths for murder!
Great reactions!
For me, the most lasting effect of the movie is that it brought "FUBAR" into the greater lexicon.
Yeah I love FUBAR
Some other 80's movies that I think you two would enjoy with a mix of humor and action. Stakeout (1987), Cocoon (1985) and F/X (1986).
At 19:08 when Sly says 'I hate Danish' - that was a subtle slight towards ex-wife Brigitte Nielson who he had divorced 2 yrs prior
I remember going to the theater to watch this movie with big expectations and coming out of it disappointed.
Then I watched it again on the TV and started enjoying scenes like the interrogation on the roof; I liked it much better when my expectations were low.
The truckdriver in the beginning is Maniac Cop.
I had forgotten that.
Apparently Cash was going to be played by Patrick Swayze but he dropped out to do Road House instead, so we got the best of both worlds.
😯
In September 2019, Stallone revealed that he has a story written for a potential sequel. The filmmaker stated he is trying to convince Kurt Russell to sign onto the project, though he anticipates the film will be made
Really?!
That's crazy.
Generally I hate cheesy movies, but this one just works somehow even with cheese factor cranked to 11 :P
I'm glad you two enjoyed it!
I hope you'll watch Oscar (1991) if you want a pure Stallone comedy (pure as in not an action flick).
Love this movie!! It’s definitely one of my favorite buddy cop movies.
Soldier was epic!

the Golden Era of Action movies
the opening scene is a tribute to "Police Story 1 - Jackie Chan"
You have to watch Oscar. It's a great comedy, with a great cast, headlined by Stallone. He plays a mob boss trying to go straight. It's my favorite Stallone movie! And for a great Kurt Russell action movie, try Soldier. I think Kurt has 5 lines in the whole movie, but he carries it with his presence alone.
Tango & Cash is one of my favorite movies ever. Cheesy or not, like it or not... it's a classic!
Have you ever seen Kurt Russell in his younger roles? he played in several tv shows as a kid... I remember seeing him as the teen character Dexter Riley in the Disney films "The computer wore tennis shows" (1969), "Now you see him, now you don't" (1972) and "The strongest man in the world" (1975).... damn, I feel old o_O
:D
I rewatched this so I could enjoy this reaction even more

But it was thanks to Konchalovsky that I got more interested in Soviet cinema. That and an English language film called The Red Tent (1969) -- that one was directed by Mikhail K.
