      No, most Christians around the world have some form of formal liturgy (Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholics, Anglicans, and Lutherans, for instance). The Anglican/Episcopal movement reformed many of these practices but didn't feel the need to reinvent the wheel. I encourage you to read up on these similarities and differences, as they can be subtle.

      They "reformed" the liturgy, however today their liturgy is very similar to the new mass because the Vatican 2 group of people making the new mass were 6 Protestants led by Anibale Bugnini, a suspected freemason. The new mass changes were put in place to protestantize the Catholic Mass. "We must strip from the catholic prayers and liturgies all that may be a stumbling block to pur seperated bretheren that is the protestants". "it is now theologically possible for Protestants to use the Catholic Mass". Both the new mass and the Anglican liturgy represent a protestant supper not a propitual sacrifice.

      @@seand5825 Did you stop and think that GOD loves his church and CHRIST sent the Holy Spirit to guide her? It was with GOD'S guidance that the mass changed. The mass is a work of the people, not just the priest and ministers. The mass has changed many times through out the last 2000 years. The western churches and the eastern churches developed many diferent rites of worship through out the last two millenniums. All of them have been different than what was done previously. The latest change may be hard to get used to, but, it has been almost 50 years.

      The admonition to "worship in spirit and in truth" concerns what is in the heart's of worshipers. The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrisostom is glorious, but not all people are not called to it.

  • @edwardfranks5215
    @edwardfranks5215 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    To translate liturgy as the work of the people is literal and false as to the true meaning, which is public service. a liturgy was an obligation imposed on the richer members of society to provide services. As such it is a form of tax. The Church adopted the word. So the Orthodox call the Mass or Holy Eucharist, the Divine Liturgy = Divine Service.

      Jesus did not leave women out nor did he shun them. He spoke to them ( which Jewish men would not have done, in public) and he allowed them to follow the apostles and Jesus, Himself. There are many stories of the women in the bible who allowed people to come into their home for bible study and prayer. They were often married couples. Three women were with Jesus when he died on the cross, plus John. They were there when they placed him into the tomb. He asked John to' take care of his mother.' He certainly wanted women to show and talk about Him and what He was doing with his healing and teaching ministry and as he taught " You all can do the same and even greater things" Along the way, the women spoke. They were with the men and did get baptized. They preached in their own ways when telling people about Jesus. 1st Corinthians Ch 11 speaks about women not preaching, but Paul admits he knew no other way, as of the time"Jesus knew what they did and never condemned them. Mary was the first woman at the tomb and she ran to tell the apostles. and they did not believe her, but then they ran to see and sure enough, they found her words rang true, and a woman can believe and tell it out about Jesus, as she witnessed the life of Jesus, His resurrection from that time on. She told of how 'she saw Jesus but thought He was the gardener at first'. It is in the bible. AS women did not keep quiet as you think. We cannot judge anyone for talking about Jesus, no matter where they do it. If people need to hear. All must speak or the ''rocks will call out!" We are all spiritual beings, and we need to tell it wherever we can and people male or female can listen to the truth, and Jesus will not judge if it is done with love in their hearts. They told him ( apostles) that 'some are healing and we know they are not one of us, and we must make them stop' Jesus said " Do not stop them, if they are for us they are not against us, so let them go" If we cannot get enough men to go out and lead, especially in the homes, Women will need to go, if male or female in this end days fall back, we must move forward for Jesus,. In the home, the women first teach their sons. They must most times. So they are responsible for the teaching of the preachers and priests. Hopefully, they are, and showing them by their own conduct as a mom and wife and showing love to all.

      There is a female apostle (Junia), as well as female leaders, deacons, and prophets mentioned in the New Testament. In fact, the early Church was quite diverse in organization (as we see in the New Testament and other historical evidence). If, as St. Paul says, "there is no longer male nor female in Christ," why would we expect women not to be able to represent Christ as vicars and priests? There's no reason besides selective reading and/or concession to historical prejudice. We see the Church changing in the Acts of the Apostles, when it opened to Gentiles, and it is still deepening its faith and welcoming more today, as it should.
