    Thank you tremendously for sharing this information. As the son of a cancer patient, I am very concerned about chemicals. Can you please recommend any line of chemicals (pre-sprayers, detergents, deodorizers, spot remover) that don't pose known risks of cancer? Looking to avoid the harsh stuff.

    What is a popular brand that pros use? What about odoban 3in1 carpet cleaner or green dragon? Or rug doctor?

      Man that's a big question. If you ask 20 different people you will get 20 different answers. There are tons of great products on the market from so many different manufacturers. I like kleenrite, prochem, pros choice, magic wand chems.

    how often do you fix spots and stains?

      @carpetcleanertraining8020  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to specify what you are referring to. Spots or stains are treated all the time almost daily.

    Do you have any videos on acid washes

    • @carpetcleanertraining8020
      @carpetcleanertraining8020  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you talking about an acid rince? If so that is a shortcoming of the video that I neglected to put in. When using any alkaline pre treatment you should also be using an acid rinse when you are doing your extraction. This will bring the carpet back to a neutral state after the extraction. Acids also help to rince the alkaline detergent out of the carpet and will leave the carpet soft.

      @@carpetcleanertraining8020 I have a portable, I can’t put any acid rinses in my portable. Could I just spray it after extracting with water, or would I put it before extracting ?

    • @carpetcleanertraining8020
      @carpetcleanertraining8020  ปีที่แล้ว

      why can't you? You should be able to add it to your tank before you start extracting.

    with polarity - if anionic is said to be like an acid and cationic is said to be like a alkaline, does that mean that an alkaline detergent is cationic? and therefore you wouldn't use it on a Nylon stain resist carpet? I'm a bit confused on this. Looking at some ProChem products - it doesn't really say what polarity they have. Is it only the products shown in the side (at 20:50) that are cationic? (ie deodorants, disinfectants, anti static sprays, quarternary cleaners and fungicides)

    • @carpetcleanertraining8020
      @carpetcleanertraining8020  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cleaning products like pre sprays won't be cationic. No cationic and alkaline are not the same. Alkaline and acid is a measure of pH not charge. You just need to be aware when buying chems if something's a cationic so you know how to use it properly.

    Loved this video, but I have a question. You mention that we should not exceed a PH of 10 on stain resist carpets, How do we identify them? What actually happens if we do exceed that PH of 10? As far as what is available in my area: Some of the pre-spray products have a ready to use PH as low as 9-10, but most seem to be around 11-13.

    • @carpetcleanertraining8020
      @carpetcleanertraining8020  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      At this point almost everything that you are cleaning will be stain resist fibers unless it is very old. You cannot identify them in the field unless they have the original paperwork and warranty information. However remember if you are cleaning a nasty carpet that hasent been cleaned in years all bets are off use what you need to to get it clean because its already damaged. However if you are in homes where the carpet is in good shape and possibly even under warranty you will need to use the proper cleaning product. Using a high pH product on a stain resist fiber will have the potential to strip the acid dye resistors out of the fiber. As a result the fiber will be much more likely to accept a dye from a food spill such as kool aid or juice drinks. There are many products available that are 10 or under on the market, however, I am in America so it may be different if you are not here. Mail order is also an option but that drives the price up. Where are you located? Keep in mind a pH of 11 is 10 times stronger than a 10 and a 12 is 100 times stronger. That will do damage to the fibers you are cleaning so be mindful of what you are doing to your customers carpet when you are using these cleaners.

    • @beademotive
      @beademotive 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carpetcleanertraining8020 not sure about American. But in Australia it's extremely diluted. Nothing happens to your skin when you touch it and it definitely won't kill if integested. Vinegar from my home country is neat and had to be diluted before use. It was extremely dangerous!!

    Pure water is 1,000,000 times stronger than battery acid.

    • @carpetcleanertraining8020
      @carpetcleanertraining8020  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. pure water is not strong or weak its neutral 7. Then for every point away from neutral 7 you increase in strength by 10x. Less then 7 acid greater than 7 alkaline. Battery acid and lye would be equally as strong but opposite sides of the scale 1 and 13.

      @@carpetcleanertraining8020 I know, I wasn’t being serious. Is alkalinity ever an issue? I assume some compounds have a greater buffering capacity, and react less to acids than others?

    • @carpetcleanertraining8020
      @carpetcleanertraining8020  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would be surprised by what people will ask seriously. Alkalinity can be an issure over 10 pH on stain resist carpets.
