If you live abroad to avoid paying taxes,you should still be paying the rate of tax as if you lived in the the uk...why because this where your profits come from.
The poor man who has been waiting for 2 years...but the junior doctors have been striking for less than a year. This means that he has been on a waiting list due to government incompetence longer than for any other reason.

Companys are making huge profits and now we are seeing that CEOs are awarding themselves massive rises. This is nothibg new, however it is gawling that they are doing this whilst our government and the right wing press are calling doctors, nurses and the rest of us greedy. I dispair
I'm not an economist and don't know much about this but I disagree....just about sums up this woman. Inflation didn't increase because of wages, it started rising before people started asking for higher wages. They asked for more in the wage packet because of price increases across the board. The corporations are making massive profits, why don't they charge less and push inflation down.
Basically they want to get rid of a lot of people and own their stuff. Asset inflation is outstripping wage growth, you earn more by owning stuff than doing stuff.
They want your local hairdresser to go out of business so they can turn it into luxury flats and sell it to an American asset management firm.
The domestic economy is being eaten by the offshore economy. It's the standard private equity number: buy a company, load it up with debt then tear it apart and sell it off. That's basically what they're doing to the entire country. They'll own everything, including us.
And if we aren't useful then we can go in the bin.
We've actually had wage stagnation since 2009. Average wages haven't kept up with inflation since about 2009, thanks to our tory government since 2010. And more recently since 2021 and surging inflation, the cost of living crisis that situation has gotten a lot worse. How do the tories expect people here in the UK to survive if their wages are nowhere near keeping up with inflation. And who will spend money into the economy to keep it going when the majority of people don't have any real surplus capital. Grace is spot on its businesses whacking up their prices, like o2, Virgin media saying RPI inflation rate is just over 13% back in April this year and then adding 3.99% onto that and putting their prices up by over 17%

Carole Malone said her mortgage was £500 a month and is now £2,500. She's not going to ask for a salary rise because she's such a good citizen. Obviously it's not because she's on a £70000 salary and worth over 4 million. People are asking for more money so that they can keep a roof over their heads and food in their mouths.

Wages have not caused inflation, it was the oil shock and excessive money printing during Covid that has meant prices have gone up. Wages in this instance it's reacting not causing it.
Grace is spot on with her information & answers. And I don't know of any employers giving 7.5% pay increases, at least not in the unskilled or semi skilled jobs sectors in the UK
This is cost push inflation (ie supply issues) caused by energy prices and Brexit (you vote for trade barriers, you get more costs) not demand led inflation caused by the population having excess money but they’re using demand reducing tools to bring the level of demand to meet the new level of supply. Have policies that deal with the supply side appropriately and that will bring inflation down.
Also, if the tories were really concerned about a wage price spiral, they’d encourage more migration - increase the supply of labour and the price of labour stays low. For some reason, that doesn’t seem to appeal to their dog whistle politics.
In my modest opinion, raise minimum wages not by pence, realistically raise to say £13.50 / 14.00 per hour, but only charge NI. and only tax 10% over £ 500 per week but stop any other benefits to those people, this would incite people to get off their arses and earn a fair wage without bumming off the Government, small employers would take you on if you stop employers contributions for employees, as as they have no other tax to pay for them , without paying out all those benefits the Government would recoup the lost taxes and have more people working, I may be wrong about my idea but that’s reality.
What do you think they do when they get here, they watch our old TV to catch up, so think about what they watch.

The most at the pay they are at would only ever get them 8%,so what they mean if stand there for five days if you want,
But at the end it will most probably be still 6%, very lucky if you get even an extra 1%, so take the break relax, meet with family, have a good friendly time, because you will either take the 6% or we will train all those revugees to be doctors, atleast those capible, so keep your jobs have a fun time and let me use them as and space force. Grace is an economist with real life experience having worked at KPMG. Ben Shapiro is a bigoted failed screenwriter with a chip on his shoulder because Hollywood wouldn't hire him. They aren't the same.
The question has structural flaws. Also doctors are striking to return their pay to 2008 parity. Not in one go, but over time. So lets have a bit of sympathy for the people trying to cure your acid reflux who have had a pretty consistent cut since 2008, amid inflation and rampant rent increases.
