mont saint michel is legit, i went there in 2018. the lucious grass in the social media version is kinda exaggerated, as that area is flooded most of the time. the place is besutful, it looks and feels like your walking through a real life diagon alley.
same i went there around 2018 too but my most recent visit was in 2022. It’s not really how it used to be, it’s a lot more expensive now and different then before.

As someone who went to mont saint michel last year, it was all worth it. The reason why it looks gray and ‘boring’ in ‘reality’ is bc social media photoshops the shit out of it. Yes, it was super busy, but so is like every single big city that everyone loves. It looked super mystical and just straight out of a disney movie (fun fact: this town was actually used as base for the kingdom is tangled). There’s also like only a few tens of civilians and it’s just monks and nuns that you can see walking around the town. Also very cute tiny shops that literally just look per day when they’ll close. Very underrated town, highly recommended, super beautiful and old (it even still has a lot of intact builds from medieval times, like a drawbridge at the port). Ps: even just walk towards it and just seeing the beauty come closer and closer to you is such an experience

I was once at Mont Saint with my mother, brother, and grandmother And im telling you, its much more beautiful than you see even in such weather I dont care if its crowded cause it still was a beautiful view, and i even found an almost shaped like a sea conch shell. I kept it and it still remains as a memory i will remember

The actual draw to Mt Saint Michel is seeing it at high tide when its completely surrounded by water. Also as you walk up through the town it literally looks like a French version of Diagon Alley.

Also April is the new year in Japan for many companies and schools instead of January (although of course there are proper celebrations for January.) Just don’t forget to do your own research on their culture first because a lot of things that are socially acceptable in the west are not in Japan. Japanese people generally have a negative opinion of foreigners (although that is beginning to change) because tourists are usually obnoxiously loud and rude and ignorant of Japanese manners. I LOVE (real) storms! The more lightning, the better. But it doesn't storm much here in the desert. I miss those midwestern electrical storms where the sky turns yellow and the strong smell of ozone permeates the air, everything feels alive as the sky cracks. .
The grass is called "pré-salé", it's used to feed ewes (which gives their milk a very specific, salty taste, used for cheeses for instance) and lambs, because it changes the taste of the meat. The reason you don't see it in the supposed "real images" is because it's out of season and filmed way too close to the Monastery, where the soil starts to become more like a beach than marshy terrain on which saltmarsh grass can grow
The first one is 100% accurate. When I went, it was nothing but marsh, sand, and wet. Super rainy and cold it was horrible, and the only way to get to the town was by a shuttle 🥲
Hitachi park is great but you have to go veryyyy early on a weekday to get the right shots - after that the trains, road, and park get very crowded. I had to give up one year because we sat in the car on the motorway for two hours not moving 😢 I recommend in autumn instead when those blue flowers are replaced by red fluffy kochia and it's less crowded!
For the Mont Saint Michel, You should go to the fields a bit on the east, at the morning and if possible when the tide is high, outside of the touristic season… here it reveals its beauty
