This video helped a great deal my grandmother is a Master Gardener but her mobility isn't what it used to be so I'm trying to do my best to save her garden
Oh heck yeah, the best video around with best explanations. So happy I stumbled across it. Definitely knows what he's doing! Should I really leave that many leaves on top? Thanks so much.
Perlite, vermiculite, sand all are clean without the mold of mulch, but also lack nutrients. So they root but remain weak, and the plants die, just slower. Also, when he tore off the leaf nodes, that introduced scare points to infect the plant with mold, which he did not cover in root hormone.
I think he put the second cup on there because it helps water the cutting from the bottom up rather than from watering it from the top... Because it causes the roots to want to go downwards more searching for water)
Great video for propagating I just got some cuttings from a friend at a rose show hoping I can successfully get them all rooting thanks 🙏 for sharing your idea from California
Never successfully rooted a rose yet, 3 years and trying. Friend took some of my rose cuttings, claimed one rooted but blamed planting it in the yard killed it. I said growing it in perlite made it weak and so it just took longer to die, but did make some roots that were not related to plant survivability. She took more cuttings today to try again, and since I now have perlite, I have potted cuttings to try also, but with a couple variations.
hello , you mentioned cinnamon is a good natural alternative to the root powder. would you do the same method by dipping the cuttings bottom in the cinnamon as well ?
Also from near Ottawa, Canada and hoping to use your techniques on an Agriculture Canada developed Explorer Series Rose, called the JP Connell Rose. Coincidentally, it looks similar to the Rose in this video -- what kind of Rose was that?
Curious if plants treated with mono-silicic acid would provide even better cuttings. I've heard it provides better cut roses in regards to their longevity. Would love to see studies on this.
THANK YOU. I DO other plants and i can clone but having never worked with roses b4 other than keeping alive when house sitting for thr folks, th err y want a bunch more but to clone, not buy. This is so informative as far as when to clone. Plants i clone are clones at 2 months
Assalamualaikum I watch your videos from Bangladesh I wanted to know a few days ago I planted a cherry fruit tree Sylvian but the leaves of the tree have all fallen off now what can I do please me
Interesting to scold the bottom of the cutting. Medium Halb Perlite und halb Vermiculite. Water only the first day and bury 2-3 nodes. 2 clear plastic pots..Using antiperspirant on the leaves.

🌻 unless I missed it, you didn't mention what type of light or environment to put the cuttings in to root?
This video helped a great deal my grandmother is a Master Gardener but her mobility isn't what it used to be so I'm trying to do my best to save her garden
Where did you put the cuttings for 6-8 weeks for root growth
Thank you! Hoping to use this process in the future.
Glad to help, Patricia! Keep us posted on your growing successes!

Rooting hormone powder.. you can also use cinnamon or honey
Oh heck yeah, the best video around with best explanations. So happy I stumbled across it. Definitely knows what he's doing! Should I really leave that many leaves on top? Thanks so much.

Glad to see we’re reaching you all the way from Ottawa! Thanks for reaching out!
Cheers,

All cuttings need is water & good, clean soil, but these tips help!
Perlite, vermiculite, sand all are clean without the mold of mulch, but also lack nutrients. So they root but remain weak, and the plants die, just slower. Also, when he tore off the leaf nodes, that introduced scare points to infect the plant with mold, which he did not cover in root hormone.
7:25 i don't understand (otherwise great video). What's the difference to just take one cup without holes?
I think he put the second cup on there because it helps water the cutting from the bottom up rather than from watering it from the top... Because it causes the roots to want to go downwards more searching for water)
Interesting. Great job/results👍
THANK YOU, Sharni! 🤩🙌
What type of light/environment for the 6-8 weeks?
Hello. A question, if I may.
Can these cuttings (After rooting takes place) be kept in a pot indoors for planting next spring?
Great video for propagating I just got some cuttings from a friend at a rose show hoping I can successfully get them all rooting thanks 🙏 for sharing your idea from California

What season was this cutting done p!ease. Can we do cuttings from the end of winter prunings ?
Can you plant this type of cutting outside in September in Michigan?
hello , you mentioned cinnamon is a good natural alternative to the root powder. would you do the same method by dipping the cuttings bottom in the cinnamon as well ?
Do you need to dome that?
If you have no choice but to do this in august, and the roses root by Halloween can they be potted in the house until spring?
Very good video!

Can you tell me which soil is for the last process..?
Thank you for this!
Curious if plants treated with mono-silicic acid would provide even better cuttings. I've heard it provides better cut roses in regards to their longevity. Would love to see studies on this.
Will this method work for all types of outdoor plants and shrubs that's including the planting medium? Like an old lilac bush for example?
I have a flounbi issac maderia rose in a pot need to cut back
What if it's a scented rose? Will this way pass on the scent of the mother plant?
nice video. anyone have experience with using aloe on rose cuttings?
Can I do the same with old rose trees? (By your method 6-12 months stems)
Tried other ways no luck. Will try this thanks
Thank You. you've made it simple 😁

The 80's 😂❤
Great tips? Thanks!
I like Mike Kincaid rose propagation version. No pushing products.

Whats the name of these rose please
Rips 2 or was it 3 leave branches off, does not add any rooting compound to protect them.
Interesting to scold the bottom of the cutting. Medium Halb Perlite und halb Vermiculite. Water only the first day and bury 2-3 nodes. 2 clear plastic pots..Using antiperspirant on the leaves.
So don't use potting soil?
that's not fair! My rose cutting hasn't flowered and its almost 5 months old
No one gets a cutting, it barely makes roots, and suddenly in 6 weeks it is 6 inches taller with two flowers. This is fake.
@@donaldkasper8346 It's not
@@donaldkasper8346 My cutting was as tall as his in almost 3 weeks, but no flowers its all the condition
@@ThatMan-h3q No, flowing is in the second or third year. First shoots, never.
Ok am I the only one who thinks you somewhat resemble Jon Hamm? But seriously super great info 😂
