What is your favorite On running shoe?
Hi, Lars. What is the durability of the Cloudflow and Cloudultra like? Do you run in any On shoes?
Hey Wayne.
Right now I am testing the Cloudeclipse, but have barely started, so yes I am running in On shoes at the moment. But the last time I got to test a pair was the first Cloudultra, maybe 1.5 years ago. I had no issues with the durability there, and I gave it a proper beating in the Norwegian mountains.
When it comes to the Cloudflow 4, which is recently updated, the durability should be improved because of the new outsole with fewer individual cloud elements and a more incorporated design that also inhibits stones from getting stuck.
As I go from shoe to shoe a lot, I don't get to test pairs of running shoes for longer periods, so I would really appreciate it if other people could give their opinions on this topic as well.
Hope you are having a nice Black Friday!
Lars
Cloudstratus 3
Thank you, Lars for your comments. How do the Cloudultra, with the open pods, cope with water and mud? Do they become heavy?@@RunningXpert
@@wayneharris1546 I didn't have any issues with this when I ran in them.
Lars
Very helpful!
I love my On Cloud Shoes, I also have Brooks but the On are the right fit for my morning runs. ❤🏃🏻♂️➡️
I also rotate between the ghost and cloudflow.
Great video as usual! Question; which model would u compare to the saucony endorphin speed or Hoka Mach 5?
Hey, thank you!
Speed and Mach are just a bit different to what On makes, but I think the Cloudflow might be the closest thing there. It should be a bit firmer than both the Speed and the Mach, but I have heard good things about the upgrade to Cloudflow 4 (haven't been able to try it though).
Lars
Is the ON Cloud Flow 4 closer to a Nike Pegasus 40 ,or closer to an Adidas Adios 8, or it is a very fast shoes that could rival an Asics Magic Speed 3 ? I'm not sure how fast or how much cushioning it has ... thanks .
Hey MiracleWarrior!
I have been off for the holidays, so I'm late at answering. I would say it is closer to a Adios than a Pegasus.
Happy new year!
Lars
which one is best on wet cobblestones?
Excellent review Lars. Er du fra Bryne?
Hey :D Thank you!
Nei, Bryne er for langt sør, jeg er fra det flotte nordvestlandet.
Which would you recommend or long walks or all day lots of steps wear?
As someone who’s been using On shoes for several years, I walk a lot in my job and highly recommend the Cloudstratus, Cloundnova Form and Cloudmonster models.
What's the best shoe for overpronators?
whatever happened to cloudventure waterproof?
Which one is fit in wide feet?
how about the cloudventure?
Is it only me who still lost ??! Really nice review. Thanks man.
Hey :D
You are always welcome to ask any question if you still feel unsure about which shoe you should get.
Lars
What pair do you recommend for heavy people who occasionally run?
Hey. The Cloud Stratus is a fantastic shoe for people who need extra cushion and comfort.
Lars
Lars
@@RunningXpert Tusen takk for svar! super topp video du lager!
@@PsGetSid_ Takk. Godt å høre!
I don’t run that much, but I do walk A LOT daily. Kinda considering between Cloud 5 and Cloudflow 4 for daily driver (work included). Which one do you think suits better for the function? Thanks!
I’m in the same boat I’d like to know also, but it doesn’t look like he responds to comments much
Hey @orrireid4435,
I hope you have had a great weekend. I would consider the Cloud 5 more a walking shoe than a running shoe, but it will have less support than the Cloudflow 4. So it all comes down to what kind of hold you want a around the midfoot. The Cloudflow 4 will have a stronger grip on your foot, support you more, and would probably be my shoe of choice between those two. But it's all about taste.
Lars
Hey @gibreezy,
I have answered the comment above so hopefully you'll get a notification as well. Hope you've had a great weekend!
Lars
@@RunningXpert ahh gotcha. Most of my shoes are from Skechers, so I suppose Cloudflow 4 is a better choice if I want to adapt easier?
Well, that again depends on what shoe from Sketchers you've had. :D Overall I find the Cloudflow 4 to be a more preferable shoe for me, but if you look at sales numbers then most people use the Cloud 5 as a walking shoe.
Lars
What about cloudspark?
hvad for nogen løbesko vil i anbefale til løbebund
Hej,
Lars
tunsen tak for jers feedback@@RunningXpert
How do they run size wise compared to Nike ? I’m interested in a daily shoe either cloud runner or monster
Hey.
This is highly subjective, but I have tried the Cloud Eclipse and Cloudboom Echo 3, and find them alle a tad long compared to my pegasus 40 and my invincible 3. Not by much, but those shoes are at a spot where it might be worth it to size down.
Lars
guys please help me choose between monster 1 or cloudrunner 2. im looking for daily small run, and comfort. i have tried monster its feel nice bouncy and so comfy, but i havent try cloudrunner 2. i wonder if its more comfy than monster. ill appreciated every opinion u give in every pov
Hey :D
Cloudrunner 2 should feel more firm and less comfy than the Cloudmonster 2. Hop eyou are having a great day!
Lars
@@RunningXpert so for the comfort, monster is better than runner 2?
and onemore, what have they upgrades from runner 1 to runner 2?
I believe the monster is more comfortable if you are seeking softness and bounce. Stay with monster if you like softness and bounce
Would be more important to know which one is the best for all day standing and all day walking
Hey,
That is a good point. It is a hard thing to suggest though, because some people like a softer shoe and some like it harder. Some want a very comfortable and plush shoe and some like it as breathable as possible.
I would probably use a Cloudflow 4 for walking because it is light, breathable, and a little firmer. If you like a softer and more breathable one, Cloud Monster would be a great option, and if you want a soft and plush shoe, the Cloud Stratus should be a great possibility.
Lars
What are the most breathable ones? (For daily use)
Hey. The Cloud Monster really breathable and has a thin upper, but nice cushioning for daily use.
Lars
Which one is good for long day standing ?
Hey. It depends if you want a bit more plushness in the upper or a tighter fit. I think the Cloud flow 4 would be great if you want a shoe for walking and want a tighter fit around the midfoot. The Cloud stratus is a softer shoe with a softer upper and more space for your toes. I think both of them would be great for long day standing.
Lars
Their shoes just cost roo much. Its like every single shoe they make has the "premium" shoe price.
What is good about ON shoes I run with Nike ALPHAFLY
Hey Shyraman4506,
On shoes are great running shoes with a very distinct look and a bit firmer feel. Nike Alphafly is a great marathon racing shoe, and the closest thing On has, is the Cloudboom Echo 3. Do you use Alphafly as you main running shoe or as a racing shoe?
Lars
@@RunningXpert I use them for when I go out running on the streets for a normal run but when I go to the gym I use the Nike air zoom tempo next %
Yeah,
Well, most of the shoes that I show in this video are quite different from the shoes you use. Alphafly is a pure marathon racer and the tempo next% is a tempo trainer.
In general these on shoes are made to last longer and will feel a lot closer to daily trainers from Nike than the racing shoes. They will not be as springy, and in general more stable when landing.
Lars
I love the cloud flow as a daily trainer, currently70 miles pw. I also hate the cloudsurfer, I think its mushy and sloppy.
Yes, two very different shoes you talk about there. I think people will in general like one or the other, and not both :D
We also think the Cloudsurfer is more of a jogger type of shoe, more comfort and softness, and less speed and agility. Thanks for your insights.
Lars
Where does the CloudTilt sit in this line up?
Hey Supersonic!
The CloudTilt is first and foremost a comfortable walking shoe, and not a running shoe.
It does have Helion Superfoam, but we haven't tested it ourselves, and must then trust On's own judgement when they are calling this a walking shoe.
Lars
Does anyone have a referral code ?
Can I refer you?
so if I want a shoe for everyday casual use which one is for me? Which one is closer to a Nike Pegasus and which one closer to a Nike Invincible run?
Hey Silversurfer.
These are two very different companies that make very different shoes, so a direct conversion is quite hard :D. We think the Invincible and the CloudEclipse could be compared, but there is a difference in the softness, with Nike a lot softer.
The shoe that resembles the Pegasus the most might be the CloudGo. But again, they are quite different. If you want a shoe that has some cushion, but that also can turn up the pace, then the CloudMonster could also be an option.
Lars
For everyday casual use, I recommend On Cloud 5. It’s good looking and popular walking shoes.
Halfway through and I am more confused. 😢
Hey Haiderabbas,
Can you help us make better videos? What could we have done to make it less confusing? We have recently started making comparison graphics as well, but it sure isn't easy to differentiate shoes from brands nowadays. We will try our best to make even better content in the future.
Lars
🙈
Gimmick
I walk 15 miles a day on a 12 hour shift making semiconductors chips, not a gimmick at all. I wear the Cloudsurfer which was engineered for energy return.
@@survivalistcookbook9625You can probably walk in a pair Nike Motiva or New Balance classic like 996, 574 all day and feeling comfortable. Walking is mechanically different movement compare to running, I think
Produced for 17$, sold for 300$+
Shoes for idiots.. a never ending growing market ;)
That's crazy. Where are you shoe shopping? Cause you're getting ripped off. These shoes don't go $300+ At least not within the U.S.
I paid under $200, where are you shopping?
waaaaaaay too expensive.
Ehh guess it depends what you're comparing them too...
@@robbiecleighmarks3088compared to the production cost which is about 25$. 😅
But yes, it's the same for other brands.
I’m personally a Jordan guy so for me these are average price and they are worth every penny
They are expensive but they are amazing shoes
@@BronnerGunter-mc5vu people have different opinions here... i know some that gave them away
Thanks.
With your explanations, I'm even more confused.
(Hint: if you've ever been to a sales training bootcamp, you're what they would call a classic case of talking features but not benefits. You keep getting bogged down - and bogging down your audience as well - on the details of the features instead of translating how those features benefit the consumer.)
I'll best be getting back to browsing the On website and figuring it all out for myself.
Hey Kindface,
We are always trying to improve. Can you help with making some examples of what benefits you think we should focus on?
Lars
@@RunningXpert
In the brave new world of the internet, there’s no reason why you can’t find something meaningful if you Google for sales training.
I find it hard to believe that you can’t differentiate between talking features and talking benefits when you obviously think you’re ready to start a YT channel
We are here to learn and get better, but we are also aware of a lot of false information in the running world, especially in regards to running shoes and benefits. That's why we wanted to know what benefits you think we should have focused on.
But it seems you are not here to have a discourse, so we'll just hope you'll have a good day.
Lars
@@RunningXpert
Have a conversation? I don’t owe you my time. If you’re from my boomer generation, you would first do some digging on the back of the tip i just gave you about features vs benefit, especially when the Internet is at your finger tips. But, no, instead you prefer to be lazy and for someone to spoonfeed you - that’s what you mean by ‘a conversation’. Oh, sure, the world owes you conversations. Good luck to you.
Hey Kindface :D
Thanks again for your answer! Having conversations on this channel helps spread the video to even more people.
I am very aware of the different benefits of running shoes, which could easily be boiled down to comfort, stability, and speed. All aspects that we are talking about in this video.
In this lineup video, we take care not to go too deep into each shoe and make use of the features as a guide to show the differences between shoes, that in some cases, are very similar.
If you think we are doing a bad job, then it's okay. We won't suffer for it, and all we can do is try to improve and get better.
When it comes to you not owing us your time, that is okay. Remember, we are just answering your first inquiry.
We still hope you are having a great day. Keep running, and I hope you figure out which shoe you need with your own research.
If you have any questions about On running shoes. Feel free to ask.
Lars
Not value for money
I don’t like the look of them 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
is it just me or is this brand just ugly and overrated? I wouldn't even wear these shoes if they were free
