Ok so it was 2:00am i’am stoned did not want to drive to Taco Bell ( cuz no one should be driving intoxicated! Even for bean burrito emergency’s!) and was like how can I punch up what I have at home looked in my cupboard and I actually had everything to make this I added bacon fat in my beans and better then Bouillon beef base like a teaspoon but did everything else the same and let me tell you I cannot and will not go back to Taco Bell even even if I was sober to do so! ROFL! Cuz this was better, this changed my life thank you for this everyone please try it!!!!!!!! 🎉❤❤❤❤

Couple of tiny tips from an ex Taco Bell employee/mildly inspiring cook.
    1. Rinse your onions before cutting them. This should eliminate the fumes.
    2. When putting the ingredients on the tortilla, do so on the furthest 2/3 of the tortilla rather than directly in the middle.
This allows you to drag the ingredients into the middle, resulting in a better mix and, ultimately, a better ratio of each ingredient per bite.

Adding water to the beans is the key to making it taste like a taco bell bean burrito. Very generous on the paprica-- interesting. I'll have to try this. I also like the replay of the folding of the burrito.

If you soak and cook dry pinto beans fairly regular then save some just for this, they're light years ahead of canned it's not even funny just mash or partial blend them before following the recipe.

Taco Bell's gotten too expensive, and they don't give you too much. We're pissed about their offerings, used to be so good. Now, we can't hardly eat (each of us) for less than 10 bucks each. And, we don't get that much, but to eat around $6 bucks, you have to get only 2 or 3 things, and you have to bring a drink from home. It's just too much, and we want to learn how to do it all at home.

Agreed, I was thinking the other day about the .59, .79, .99 price menu back in the 1990's. With inflation they should've just doubled in price. They're triple the price now.

@@humphreyskitchenofficial Funny, I came back to your video on 6-13-2024, and even more glad that you showed us this. Because we went yesterday to Taco Bell, and it was almost $27.xx ... Believe that? But, they made a mistake and overcharged me $7 bucks. So, I cancelled the item that they got wrong (i.e., Nacho Supreme), and it freaked me out to hear that. I couldn't believe almost $30 bucks. So, even at $20 bucks, it's still too much and no left-overs. So, we are gonna re-double our efforts to cut down our trip. And, even after telling everything correctly (because I record oh my phone when I am ordering at places), the bean burrito was messed up, so we've got to go back & let them replace it.

FWIW... Nothing against lard but most canned refried beans already have lard in the can. Lard does impart a very traditional flavor to Mexican dishes and I use it to make my home made refrieds. Probably not necessary unless you like the extra flavor and creaminess. Other than that, I'm doin' this!

Pro-tip - this recipe is on point however, you can use bacon fat and skip the lard and smoke paprika, use sweet paprika instead. Also, burritos come raw or partially cooked. Always warm them up because they need to be cooked! BB's off the Taco Bell 99 cent menu were always my favorite. Pico sauce, which is basically cilantro, tomatoes and onions kicks it up a notch but isn't mandatory. I've taken it another step further and made refried beans. Pinto beans cooked in chicken broth, then refired in bacon fat with a little garlic and chili powder are really good, but canned works as well. Love this video anyways because bean burritos are an excellent comfort food.

Why would anyone's taste buds think taco bell bean burritos are anywhere near even edible?! The beans are made terribly and have the consistency of mush. And to make matters worse, come mandatory with diced raw uncooked onions! 👎. Where'd taco bell come up with the most unauthentic way to cook and serve beans? Certainly not from Mexico (yes, there might be would a bowl of onions on the table, but ONLY if you wanted to add on yours, not the whole community!). Go to Del Taco instead for beans that taste like homemade and still have some texture (from the beans, not a bunch of raw onion). Though I do have to suggest request light on the cheese or it'll be a cheese and bean burrito, instead of the other way around.

Are you kidding? TB burritos taste like they've been run through a dishwasher. That is a low bar.

Yes they do, but if you read from the Rosarita website you'll find that there is less than 2% lard in their beans. I'm using a 16 ounce can so that would come out to less than a tablespoon of lard.
Most recipes call for 2+ tablespoons of bacon fat or lard per pound of beans. So I'm not adding anymore than most people. LOL!
      Thanks for the comment.😄
