BUILD: heat tortillas add beans add pepper strips add rice add cheese add beans again roll that shit up optional toast burrito in pan to brown sides

Now I feel like I can handle most any health issues that come my way. I’ll never complain about being sick again. Any way, I’m thrilled to be home where I can watch your videos again. Thennnn a couple beers later we each had another for some midnight munchies 😁 the last 2 are packed for his work lunch. Incredible!!! Pinto beans, I don't care where they come from a bag or a can but get them. If they come from bag do what you are supposed to do to make them like what is in the can. Put oil in your frying pan, we use olive oil, but it could be grease from your bacon, it could lard. Use the foodlube of your choice. get it almost smoking hot and dump your beans in there. Get your masher, mash the beans. BOOM! Refried beans! This was the recipe handed down to generations of men looking for bean dip at Savemart Supermarket in FRESNO. I have a feeling those peppers didn’t want to give up their skins so easy cause he did slightly lower heat with the grill lid closed. Any time I’ve seen this done where it worked, it was over an open flame and had to be constantly turned. Could be just stubborn peppers too. What do I know haha

Having spent my college years in San Diego, and being in love with the local style of Mexican food, I'm truly embarrassed that I've never learned how to make refried beans. I will absolutely try this. Great video as usual!
Poblano peppers are known as ancho chiles when dried, and to make things more confusing, the fresh version is often incorrectly sold as pasilla peppers in America. Pasilla peppers are actually the dried version of chilaca chile peppers, a similar Mexican pepper that is skinnier and often spicier. - taken from google. The more you know!

My roommates and I live in Texas, and were without power for about a week, had to cook in the fireplace. We made the rice to go with fajitas in a small dutch oven and it came out great! Thank you for the recipe!

Simple refried beans are OK but I like to take it a bit further with some bacon grease or mayo for a 'lard' component to make them more creamy and add flavor. Thanks for the rice ideas - I will b sure to try those since I haev yet to make a decent Mexican rice at home.

Poblanos are the fresh green pepper, once they’re dried and change colors they are referred to as a Chile Ancho. Just like a dried Jalapeño is referred to as a Chile Chipotle. Made this yesterday (had to wait until my wife was gone as she refers to beans as "little bags of dirt." It was AWESOME. So AWESOME that I had it for dinner two nights in a row. Thanks Sam.
PRO TIP: If you use cumin a lot, get the seeds and toast them in a skillet on the stove just to heat up, do not burn, and then grind them in an old grinder. Sooooo much better, trust me you will thank me later.

PRO TIP: If you use cumin a lot, get the seeds and toast them in a skillet on the stove just to heat up, do not burn, and then grind them in an old grinder. Sooooo much better, trust me you will thank me later.
