Would appreciate a dedicated video on wound care - how to minimise infection, promote healing, minimise scaring! Basic household stuff, but I am sure we could all learn something from you
I make a healing salve from olive oil thats infused with calendula, plantain(the leaf, not a banana) and mix it with beeswax and lavender essential oils. It is amazing to heal cuts, burns, bites or anything and its incredibly soothing.
I simply just use isopropyl alcohol to clean wound. Showering with soap also does the trick. Moisturize like normal, and then use petrolatum on wound. You can cover it up if you want.
Daaammmmmmit you cut off my favorite part! The intentionally derp, adorable, hilarious, cheeky, little grin! I need an entire compilation of just the grins you end with. 😬🥴🫤😌🙃
Marketing can't beat the Knowledge from Dr.Dray certified dermatologist so please to those manufacturing companies you can't trick doctors and especially Neosporin dermatologists so please. Hail to Dr.Dray 😉💙😇
They took it off the market here in Italy Europe for an” antibiotic” more like antiseptic treatment I use colloidal silver and hyaluronic acid pomades!
Oh. Didnt know. Thought I was actually helping with the polysporin. When we were kids we always had a huge tub of Vaseline in the washroom. That’s what we got told to use for everything. Dry lips, dry skin, cuts..
Neosporin helped the impetigo on my chin clear up really fast when I was 12 years old…the nurse at the doctor’s office recommended it when my mom called about it. I was really thankful because I was so embarrassed by it and it kept spreading. I’ll never forget that, I’m 56 now. So, It doesn’t affect everyone negatively. Why don’t they take it off the market if doctors gripe about it and think it’s so bad?
My old stepdad was given “mupirosin” (or smthn like that) I think for more serious wounds since his leg was amputated, and it works wonders on EVERYTHING for me from cuts to acne to dry skin
True, Vaseline is a great alternative and I do sometimes use it, but Neosporin offers pain relief which is sometimes necessary for those stinging sensations from small cuts and scratches.
I had a doctor tell me once that just keeping it clean and dry was really the best way to avoid infection which you just do with soap and water. No peroxide or Neosporin needed
My internist has always said the same thing as you. He said Neosporin is absolutely useless and actually can do what you said about antibiotic resistance and sometimes a small wound needs to be disinfected and a small Band-Aid placed on it.
She has. I found it by scrolling through her videos and checking the ones where she’s wearing them. She doesn’t talk about it in one of the shorts. I found it in one that is around 20-25 minutes. This is what it is: Pyunkang Yul - Black Tea Time Reverse Eye Patch. In the video she has a link in the description box.
Look into azelaic acid. It’s much better. It’s antibiotic without the resistance lol. You can get prescription strength or just over the counter through skincare companies like the Ordinary 😊
Serious question, is it an old Dr? The ER advised against it and peroxide on my sons laceration. They advised ONLY soap and water (&Vaseline if I wanted) it's not even stocked in the ER where I go

This would be great

Wowww. I never thought of this. I had only considered antibiotic pill resistance
The smirky grin at the end. Lol😂😆Jim Carrey!
That was adorable 😅
I noooo right😂
This saves me money and simplifies my life. Thanks!
I feel like you are talking directly to me. I would make you smile.
Plastic Surgeons have been saying this for years! They recommend Bacitracin.
What’s that?
This has been mentioned by several derm channels.
OMG I never thought of that ! I just trashed it
What about Bacitracin?

Yes, decades ago we used to use Neosporin on newborns after their circumcision, then studies proved antibiotic resistance and we used petrolatum only.
I'm a nurse, and I wish Neosporin would be taken off the market. I tell ppl this all the time, and they don't listen.
but why
They took it off the market here in Italy Europe for an” antibiotic” more like antiseptic treatment I use colloidal silver and hyaluronic acid pomades!
@@Angeline453does neosporin cause asthma and disorientation?
Please talk about how to get rid of stretch marks. Thanks
I believe she already has some videos on it.
agree with this one.
Please can you tell us to use for psoriasis, my son has it bad on his leg!
❤️ 😍 dr. Dray.
Yes, reactive on the allergy test at my derm. 🙏
Oh. Didnt know. Thought I was actually helping with the polysporin. When we were kids we always had a huge tub of Vaseline in the washroom. That’s what we got told to use for everything. Dry lips, dry skin, cuts..
ST-37 for the win!
What do you wash a cut with? Is Hibiclens the best choice?
Why does it affect dermatitis
In switzerland the go to cream for cuts and scratches is Bepanthen im curious if you would recommend this cream.
Is this the same as polysporin
What ad re the patches on your face?
It’s the pain relief for me honestly 😩 find me the solution to the pain, and then we are talking
And what if you get contact dermatitis from petroleum product?
Neosporin helped the impetigo on my chin clear up really fast when I was 12 years old…the nurse at the doctor’s office recommended it when my mom called about it. She is saying for little cuts, your case was different. Of course it is good for for what you had.
Shooketh.
Never used it
I'm allergic to Neosporin!!! Even the knock offs scare me. Aquaphor for everything!
My old stepdad was given “mupirosin” (or smthn like that) I think for more serious wounds since his leg was amputated, and it works wonders on EVERYTHING for me from cuts to acne to dry skin
I use it to rub it on my buttcheeks to eliminate pimples Dr… what can I use for that?
I got contact dermatitis from it. Sucked
Me too! Ouch!
I did what you suggested but the petroleum jelly wasn’t doing anything r the crusty yellow skin and gash on my heel.
I got a burn and had to use neosporin. I use Vaseline for anything else
True, Vaseline is a great alternative and I do sometimes use it, but Neosporin offers pain relief which is sometimes necessary for those stinging sensations from small cuts and scratches.
Is vaseline good on piercings as well? I'm having a hard time with my healix trying to heal
I had a doctor tell me once that just keeping it clean and dry was really the best way to avoid infection which you just do with soap and water. No peroxide or Neosporin needed
Same as I was told by the ER when my son had a laceration to the leg. ONLY soap & water (& Vaseline if I wanted)
I can attest to that-no Neosporin or Bacitracin .
Pls product for kids with dry lips
CeraVe healing ointment
How long does petrolatum keep in the jar?
A loooong time bc it contains no water and does not support bacterial growth
Idk but mine is at least 15 years old and seems unchanged
My internist has always said the same
thing as you. He said Neosporin is absolutely useless and actually can do what you said about antibiotic resistance and sometimes a small wound needs to be disinfected and a small Band-Aid placed on it.
What do you think about Winvivo? My podiatrist has me using this on an incision. He also wanted me to use Emu oil.
Has she made a video talking about the black eye patches shes wearing? I cant find it
She has. I found it by scrolling through her videos and checking the ones where she’s wearing them. She doesn’t talk about it in one of the shorts. I found it in one that is around 20-25 minutes. I was wondering same
@@Novemberrain111 see my reply above yours.
Dr Dray reminds me of my favorite math teacher for some reason
I'd love to but my wounds dont heal without an antibiotic because I'm immunocompromised
have you ever tried bacitracin?? i’ve heard that recommend. (i take immunosuppressants for MS)
Try using manuka honey! It's sometimes used in hospitals on wounds that aren't responding to normal antibiotics.
@@lauryn6037 i'll consider it after i finish my current tube thank u
@Makai Threads I'm more inclined to trust what my doctor tells me rather than what some random says on the internet.
@Makai Threads
Honey is one of the only foods that never spoils on its own because of it's low water content and antibacterial properties.........
I like the shorts wearing eye patches. Now that I’m older any little scratch turns into a terrible itch and I have no idea why
I really only use neosporin as a topical analgesic - what is a good alternative?
Same here!
is topic lidocaine available to you? you can get ibuprofen in topical form also if you’re not sensitive to ibuprofen
💝💝💝
👏👏👏👏👏
Your the second dermatologist saying you should say no to Neosporin, I've seen today. Lol
What’s on her under eyes
NO. My shit doesnt heal without hyperpigmentation and scar. It has its place depending on the person. EVERY PERSON IS DIFFERENT
Haha don't tell my Gramma this
I thought this was a meme at first 💀
Oh dang I thought I was so smart using it to heal big pimples :(
Look into azelaic acid. It’s much better. It’s antibiotic without the resistance lol. You can get prescription strength or just over the counter through skincare companies like the Ordinary 😊
I have used it for years and I am fine. Lol
I just spit on it and move on lmao
Sorry, I'm going with what my own doctor suggests.
Serious question, is it an old Dr?
The ER advised against it and peroxide on my sons laceration. They advised ONLY soap and water (&Vaseline if I wanted) it's not even stocked in the ER where I go
#DRDRAYFACE 😂
Does anyone else have night terrors on nights they use retinol? I stopped using it as it kept happening, every single time! Bizarre
petrolatum
Dang boomers with their Neosporin. 😜
People still use that stuff? Must just be old people. No gen z or millenials would
I'm gen z and I grew up using the stuff regularly.....
I have a tube of it next to me as we speak
Let’s not take internal health advice from dermatologists. Thanks.
It's better than a stranger who "says don't trust other medical professionals for any other health things."
Internal? I thought cuts was an outside issue 🥴
How is Neosporin internal? It’s for cuts on the skin.
where does a cut happen spencer? the skin perhaps?
That's how your pronounce petroleum!
