This kit is a wonderful tribute to the patron saint of Star Trek. It’s also a great looking kit, the seat would fit in on any TNG or Voyager era bridge, and the face sculpt is just a masterpiece. Kudos to the sculptor. No pressure getting the makeup and hair perfect Lou. 😁
Hey Lou. This is an interesting build. When I first saw the thumbnail I guessed that it was Janeway but it didn't look right! It's a really fun figure but I was surprised that you wanted it in large size with your ever diminishing shelf space. Thanks for the masterclass in painting black fabric. It was interesting how the trousers looked pretty black - until you put the actually black boots against them. I guessed that a clear coat would shift the final results of the fabric and so it proved. I suppose the only way to deal with this is to paint a test piece/area and see how it looks. The leather was interesting too. I must remember to dab instead of wipe! 👍
I don't do figures...but you're inspiring me! Thank God for Lucy, can you imagine Star Trek TOS with only 1 season!? The chair is amazing-reminds me of the ALIEN aesthetic, shiny leather with dark seams, or maybe 2001 chairs in the Aries 1B. Going to Wonderfest this year, hoping to pick up a good GODZILLA kit, will be my first figure in 40 years. Thanks for all you do!
Cool concept for a kit! It looks like a very pleasant and fun build. Even though what I've seen in some articles and interviews she in real life wasn't always pleasant to work with. But God bless her, we probably wouldn't have had Star Trek without her or Desi!
What neat idea for a kit! I don't know if I'm completely sold on the Lucille Ball head sculpt though. I think a smile would have made it more "Lucy-like." I have a technique I use with figures and toys that I got from toy guy, Michael Crawford. I pop the head off and show it alone to people I know and see if they can tell me who it is. If they immediately recognize who it is, its a good sculpt. Great build! I always like to watch for new techniques and skills. I always learn something when I watch one of your builds. Can't wait to see how it finishes up!
Hi Lou, thank you for sharing you skills with us. Can't wait for this project to be completed. Just a note take it for what it's worth. On the triangle cut on the pants at the boots I believe there is colored piping from the division ie it would be the burgundy in this case. Just a note throwing it out there. Thanks again
I have consulted my cosplay/uniform expert who assured me that the color piping on the pants was a TNG thing and not necessarily a Voyager thing. I wouldn't mind a splash of color there, but since it was not molded into the printed pants, I'm going to leave it out. I was also told that the collar is the wrong style for an Admiral, so she's going to be a Captain with ADM. pips
So in theory if I bought that kit I could print up any head I wished to place on there to create my own dream Captain, say Audrey Hepburn, Gina Carano or Vampirella for example. Very cool thank you for sharing this Lou.
Hi Lou. This is fantastic. I'm wondering, however, if there's a version with Lucy in a TOS uniform sitting on a Captain Kirk TOS chair? That would be more appropriate as that's the show Lucy saved. Just a thought....
@@les4767 that was my thinking as well. Jesse did a fantastic job recreating the meme of a voyager era Lucy in the Captain's chair. In the vein of Janeway. But you would have to imagine that the Kirk chair might be harder to replicate in the original cast resin with all the complicated angles where the rounded contours of the Janeway era seat just has a more feminine vibe.
Hey, brother. Watch your water pipes. This cold is not what NC builders planned for. Leave a drip dripping. Be careful of the outside spickets. Admiral Ball. That's great!
The Chair: "Rich Corinthian Leather" The chair has come out looking exactly like the seats the Cordoba that my girlfriend of those years owned. 100k miles on that weird yellow leather. Nostalgic and actually quite nice. Shouldn't Voyager have work seat covers since they were on the far side of nowhere with no Starbase in sight?
Hey Lou, I was just wondering if you know when you might upload more Cali class videos or when/where your masks will be available? I’m in the process of priming my own Cerritos and I’m holding off on priming my saucer and the half of the engineering pod with the hanger so I can get professional masks for them
I'm finishing them this week. When I painted the cerritos , I took pictures for the instructions, but then realized the yellow stripe is really close to the color of Vinyl I use and therefore the pictures were useless. I'm building a new ship that I will paint with red stripes so you can see how the masks work.
@ I see, was asking because I was thinking about going with your method of lighting, mainly using cob leds instead of bulb leds in the nacelles so I wanted to ask
Another great build, Lou. Thank you so much for sharing. You have a good eye for selecting the shades of paint..... not sure....is it your left or right eye?? lol Thanks for steering me in the direction of where to locate a respectable size Enterprise - E kit. Very much appreciated......... I wonder if we'll ever get to see a 1/350 Enterprise F as seen in Picard ? I have just paid up via a British Model Store, for the Polar Lights Enterprise refit 1/350 scale that's coming out later this year..... Do you know anything about this kit, as in is it the same kit or will there be subtle differences? By that I mean have they learnt anything from you guys who've already built one? Just started receiving my 1:2 scale Dalek from Hachette Partworks but I'm going exercise patience and wait to actually build it, because I want to give it a paint job. It's a Time War Dalek so I want to paint it up to resemble a member of the Eternity Circle. Are you also getting this kit? I understand it is available over there. Again, thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience. You are appreciated very much. Cheers Lou!
wel if lou reads this like the figger great stuff just a think be fun if thay did in show get some one who looked like hare and be as back ground cameo kind a thing say in crod thing like whars wordo thing just a think gess thay did think that at the time nest weel see new as do new

As Always, Great Work Lou. You should have your Own TV show, Your a Very Entertaining Host. Thanks for Sharing
Mr. Dalmaso, the single coolest thing you've done yet. Thank you for honoring the gal that saved Trek. o7
Another great build video. Lucy would be amazed at the longevity of Star Trek and I think that the TNG era uniform/chair fits that thought well.

This is awesome! I love Lucy’s part in Star Trek lore.
I love it! Great choice picking up that kit. All you need is a Ricky Ricardo first officer standing behind her.
Looks good so far.

I rewatch some Voyager episodes and I stand correct sir
Nice work on the chair. Looking forward to seeing the kit completed.
Would it have been possible to add a spacer between the armrest and the supports to raise them up a bit?
That was my thought also.
Excellent subject and kit. Thanks for sharing.
Great idea for a figure kit! Looking forward to how this turns out.
So in theory if I bought that kit I could print up any head I wished to place on there to create my own dream Captain, say Audrey Hepburn, Gina Carano or Vampirella for example. Very cool thank you for sharing this Lou.
Within the limits of her body type, yes. I can't really see a captain Rosanne Barr, for example.

I watch, and I listen, and all the time I ask myself, "Why doesn't he raise the armrests?" 🙂
" ye canna change the laws of physics! " or "The Chair is the Chair, what can be done?" take yer pick
@@aztekdummy OR, the arms don't HAVE to be sitting flat on the chair, and you could fill the chairs' slots.?
Then they would just be hovering above the arms.
@@aztekdummy I have noticed the mfg website shows just that. Oh well. I'm sure yours will look fantastic!

Replicators...no actual Nauggas were harmed in the making of the Naugahyde upholstery.

Nope, your on your own. I just sell painting masks. I make no claims about being a lighting authority.@@gamingwithjacobi8757

What is that paint for the metallic sections of the chair? I think that is the perfect color for the Excelsior metallic sections.

Why not try soaking arm in super hot water though can bend elbow when it softens up
that doesn't work with printed resin.
I love Lucy! BTW: I am curious about what you listen to on the radio while you work?
This is excellent, though I do prefer the retro version I saw with her in the First Pilot style uniform.
they announced that like minutes after i got the original kit. Figures
but this version works better with the big next gen Captain's seat
Too bad the pilot-style uniform still has the TNG/VOY chair and the TNG pants.
Hi Lou you should have removed material from the waist or but packing the shoulders is a bad move in my opinion.
Regards 😮

The first and best Trekkie. Without Lucy, Star Trek wouldn't exist. This is coming out really well. The cushion on the chair looks just right.
