    Keep up the good work
Videos about Scruton, Hegel, Oakeshott, Gray perhaps? Can’t wait to see what’s next

Thanks. Gray is up soon. Scruton I have some reviews of, but he's too much of a beautiful loser for me. Hegel and Oakeshott are big hills to climb. Maybe after I finish Schmitt!

Hoedel's theorems are a justification for absolute monarchy.

Central authority that concretizes the actions of a collective of natural interests (unity by physical proximity, economic & civic activity/necessity, history, value orientation), is best achieved in a democratic parliamentary republic with term limits for PMs where the excesses of individual executives are curbed by term limits & votes of confidence, & of ruling factions or coalitions by the threat of losing majority. The monopoly of executive power when the electoral mandate is secured is sufficient to coordinate the polity to effective action in times of crisis & chaos.

Strange that Schmitt doesn't mention the Greek tyrants. Thank you for the upload!

Which ones? He does, or Bodin does, mention other ancient sovereign dictatorships.

@@CharlesHaywood sorry, since you didn't mention them I thought Schmitt didn't either, unless I misheard it. Greek tyrants and even the Roman kings (before being defunct) were something of the dictators that Schmitt says Rousseau mentions. They were the catalyst of popular discontent which is the reason why they got either killed or their power was greatly reduced over time. In essence, it all revolved around clashes between aristocracy and the plebs.
PS check Comments held for review on your channel. I made a comment in regards to the discussion in one of your previous videos, but since it had link in it TH-cam probably blocked it by default.

Well, Schmitt isn't doing an exhaustive take on the ancient world; his point is that dictatorship in essence disappeared as a live concept in the West for a long time. Bodin lists historical precedents, which Schmitt cites, and the list is longer than the ones I mentioned--all to the same point, though.
No comment held for review. Weird.

@@CharlesHaywood ok I understand. Since I didn't have anything better to do, I rewrote my comment again. It was posted and now it's gone again 🤦🏻‍♂️
