I actually cancelled my pre order a year ago but after seeing the the review from another reviewer I ordered it just to keep in alt mode. The car mode is stunning. Looks better in hand than on screen.
This was originally my first choice for my Masterpiece Jazz, but the wait was so excruciatingly long I cancelled my pre-order and went with Make Toys. Glad I did.

I went with this figure just because when I came around to getting into 3rd party MP styled figures Maketoys downbeat was sold out so I went with this guy other the other options for the price mainly but he does look very good toon accurate wise.
it has another robot mode to replicate the toy look and this looks amazing
I just got this. I popped one of the arms out of the socket first moving it. Theres a few scratches out of the box on my blue racing stripe, and my head doesn't peg in.
However, i would still say this is one of the best I've ever seen. Love the car mode, that's insanely cool. Love the accesories. And also love the mix of toon and toy look. This is a killer figure. And you cant argue with the price point. So despite my initial issues, this would remain my go-to jazz for sure.

Happy with my Downbeat, and if there's one thing I've learned from Uncle Skullface, it's that if I'm happy, I win.
Slicks Bobby, those racing things without the threads, they are called slicks...lol, alt mode is gorgeous.
I dunno, I think it's awesome. Looks to be the best Jazz in both modes.

The chest seems to over hang a lot, which is my main issue with this design. I love the new background!

I noticed that in the final thoughts too - not sure it's the dealbreaker, but I don't like it.
I ended up going with Downbeat and i'm glad but this guy also looks cool. I may get both, Jazz is a favourite of mine

I've always heard Coolsville was more scale accurate. I dont have a mp style jazz. Which is the best?
Great review Skullface! It definitely made me a little more weary on my perception before this (or any other) video.
I own this one. And yes, generally the wrists are loose, which is a real disappointment. The legs are fine for me, but that shoulder joint, once you get used to the mechanics of attaching them, it does become easier. I did snap off one of the front wheels, which forced me to glue it back on, but luckily is still transformable. I will eventually upgrade this one to the FansToys. I originally chose this one for the price point over the others.
Still the best on the Market.
I've been keeping my eye on this one since it was first shown (in grey scale) on the various toy sites. It's actually quite cool (although it's been a while) to finally see this figure see the light of day. It seems pretty good overall, however, for the time they took, it seems it should have been better. This is the "Jazz" I wanted before the Maketoys came out. Fantastic review as always it's greatly appreciated!
Yes I've heard comments about it being a company that was trying to push their product 4 years ago and kept failing and they asked a major company to help back them so they can get it out...

Hmmm I may go Toyworld been debating on which Jazz to get.
Stunning alt mode, love sponsors and paint job, this figures upper body is best version of Jazz imo. I did snap the neck on mine transforming him into robot mode 😟
You missed the G1 transformation. That's why the shoulders are designed the way they are. They tab in 2 different ways depending what look you go for. For me this is the best Jazz.

You did not show the other transform variants :( I think that was most important for this figure (full G1 toy mode with the wheels on the shoulders)

Love the paint but why did they do grey shins and not chrome?
I always thought this figure has the best looking car mode of all Jazzes out there. But I didn't pre-order it because I had a feeling it was going to be a bad figure QC-wise.
So I still don't have a Jazz on my shelf. None of them do it for me.
I actually noticed the backdrop before you mentioned it, but could not figure out why my eyes were drawn to the seam.
Is the white color parts are painted?
Did you try the wheels on top of the shoulder variation? It looked to have a more solid clip bit that actually clips onto the metal rod the wheel bits slide on, but there's no way I could get those clips anywhere near it
The little piece that connect the chest shivels but still looks like doesn't give you enough clearance.
are there more of these "Agent Meister" transformers or just the Jazz one? Confusing to figure out who and where all the different ones are made

Bobby, any thoughts on this company's newly announced take on Galaxy Force/Cybertron Prime?
And once again, it seems like nobody has gotten Jazz right yet. MakeToys looks like the most quality figure and is nice and clean but it's to the point of being too clean, as I'm not a fan of the big push to toon accuracy so the aesthetic just kills it for me. Toyworld had the look I wanted in that it felt like a proper hybrid of G1 toy with modern articulation meets the sensibilities of toon proportions, basically looking like what you would expect the characters to look like if they were "real" and that's what MP should be in my opinion. However, Toyworld flubbed the engineering with how the backs of the calves are attached to the ankle rockers which breaks the sculpt in some bad ways, plus they have the giant gaps in the forearms where the hands flip out which is inexcusable on an MP scaled figure. Then we come to this guy who, while he doesn't look quite as nice as Toyworld did, still has those G1 toy/G1 toon hybrid sensibilities going, doesn't have that ankle rocker problem, buuuuuut then it has the awkward side hip skirts and even worse, the single flap front skirt.... Come on people, I thought we were past this! Just like having a forearm gap from where the hands flip out, having just a single flap for the front hip skirts is pretty inexcusable on an MP scale figure. I dunno man, it just feels like it's still a rock and a hard place for Jazz fans here...
6x6Majin 6x6Majin and u know what the bad part is....all the issues u address with each Jazz...all of them could easily been fix with sum minor redesigning here and there. Maketoys could redesign the shins so it won’t be sticking out in alt mode. Toyworld could had add an fap cover the forearms gap. This toy should had been better in design to me since it was delay for so long and should had learn from the design flaws from the other two companies
It's really weird that so few companies have tackled an MP Jazz figure. I've always thought of Jazz as being one of the most popular characters from G1. It seems weird that more companies aren't trying to do their own figure.
Erik Carson same here. We have like 7 different version of Pipes, Huffer and even Brawn but only 4 Jazz
With any luck, maybe we'll see a proper Jazz war now that even IF has entered the mix with a legends scale entry. It's a different size class but it might finally spur some other companies like Fanstoys into action.

Sounded like you broke the peg on the bullhorn speaker, ill keep my maketoys, but hoping takara or Fanstoys puts up their versions .
Sh0ckWav3 xVLx I doubt FT will, as they rarely do something another company has already successfully done. As for Takara, if they get the license from Porsche, they’ll charge around $200 for it. I’m good with Maketoys because I think it does most things well.
@@optimusprime7177 well i like to say never say never..with Maketoys jazz and most of their stuff i just don't like their small head syndrome they like to add to the bots, their headmasters and target masters are perfect.
Sh0ckWav3 xVLx Yeah, Jazz isn’t my favorite Maketoys Remastered figure, that’s Starscream. The small heads are a bit of a bother, mainly on Jazz. Oh well, I’ve just come to expect FT to make something no one else has yet.
You didn't have to put the doors in. That's just an option. It was made to look like the original toy first and for most, which is why it has the doors out.
is there any diecast on the maketoys Jazz? if so how much/where.? i still need Jazz, Perceptor, Jabber, Hoodlum. are any new Jazz figs upcoming? id sure love a Fanstoys.
Yes, abs and thighs. It got a nice heft to him so would say just enough diecast to not feel overdone
I feel like mistakes have been made during the design process if we end up feeling frightened during the transformation . Fun not frightened should be the design mantra !
Anyone know if the zeta toys Jazz will be the same mold as this or the toy world?

I bought this jazz and was not dispapointed, transformation is easy the details are great, i want to buy one more to keep in vehicle mode. Only thing i miss is the shoulder rocket.
If the hip skirts were designed properly I'd buy this.
Nice, just bought him from eBay for £50 after watching this, just for the alt mode to go with Downbeat.
I cant believe the altmode has the official sponsor logos.

I have the Maketoys version, and am extremely happy with it. The only thing I like better on this Jazz is the gray on the feet. Can I just add, that this reminds me of Badcube. Looks good and that's it. Also, that chest gap though😅
I wish they'd put the little porshe badge where it should be on the hood, and not on the rim of the front bumper.
Glad to see I don't have to replace my Downbeat, at least any time soon. I think it's interesting that both figures have issues with the shoulders (Downbeat's habit of unplugging all of the chestworks if you're not careful while manipulating the shoulders). All things considered, I think I prefer Downbeat, but it's not like they completely blew Agent Meister out of the water.

Not a bad figure, but i feel Downbeat is superior. I am glad i got him. He feels super solid and i haven't seen any paint issues yet.

Not what I was expecting. Interesting review nonetheless. Part of me was hoping this would be the definitive 3P MP style Jazz. Too bad it didn't live up to that expectation I had. Not a bad release, but not great either.

turns out, there's some drama regarding this figure. just read about it on third party unlimited. some scammers name is in the detailing on the inside of his leg.
I really dont like the midsection so much, that the more I look at it, the more I hate it, a lot! This was always going to be my first choice for jazz. So glad I bailed out. Great review

when i saw the pictures of this, this was going to be my Jazz. (I want practical realistic cars, screen-accurate-plus bot figures) I proclaim they nailed the character with the face sculpt! But they scaled it really freaking weird! He's too short in bot mode, should be the same size as Prowl et al. And the Porsche mode is gigantic! If that didnt turn me off, bc "bot mode... whatever," no ankle tilt!! Deal breaker! No excuse! And the neglect doesn't stop there! But, Damn, Perfect Head!

So basically it's an alternators figure with better paint and better articulation.
It's too bad they're so late to the party, they probably lost a lot of sales to MakeToys. It looks great in alt mode though, especially those wheels, mmm.

This transformation is nearly identical to the Generation Toy J4ZZ. It's pretty much a step by step rip off of that unit's engineering. Interesting. 🤨
