The UK has a strange view to me about what is labeled a Loc or lake and what is to my American view a medium size pond. Aside from that, this is a beautiful house and home.
I wonder if the owners will be plagued by mosquitos in the summertime because the still water around their house which will be a breeding place for them.
(28:28) Overhead lighting sucks. I don't care what kind of newfangled lights you get (and there is always SOMETHING), there is nothing that replaces a couch-side/bedside lamp. You need something to read by and a light source that comes from the MIDDLE of the space, not the floor and not the ceiling. If it lives on the ceiling: It's just alienating. Overhead lighting (although usually NOT kitchen lighting for some mysterious reason!) can make you FEEL TIRED.
I am SO NOT impressed by the lighting store!!!!!! All those coloured lights... are made for discos, restaurants, boutiques, ie COMMERCIAL SPACES. They have NOTHING to do with COSY. Nothing. And all those GADGETS are just idiotic toys. What a waste of time and MONEY.
@@QnA22 No. Even for 2005 they are just silly. In the late '80s I dragged a friend to a store and MADE HER buy a halogen torchiere because the QUALITY OF THE LIGHT was so good. All the coloured lights... they're just gimmicky. Good lighting is like a really good frame on a painting: YOU SHOULD NOT NOTICE IT. It should simply enhance the painting. And it's the same for lighting; GOOD LIGHTING makes you FEEL GOOD, as if you'd just had a few sips of wine, or just sat down after being on your feet all day.
@@Hatunrumioc Air over water has nothing to do with weight bearing down on damp accumulated sediment. Any geologist would tell you this is not a sound place for building a home over the long haul.
@@susanharris5926 If proper practice was followed: geologists were involved in determining the composition and carrying capacity of the ground and consequently in the design of the foundation. Are foundation techniques in your area of expertise Susan?

I agree. The house comes across as a bit tacky - considering all of the money they spent.
Big mistake building over water!
God built the atmosphere over water and saw no issue with it so if it's good for the goose..
