Another service call in the books you ever just backwind your spring so you don’t have to rewind… I know it kinda pins down the top section but you can still perform work

Is there a way to adjust a side rail to eliminate less than a quarter inch gap between the garage door and the seal or is this something major?

Sorry for the delay. Yes, there is a couple of things you can do. One, depending on the style of hinge, simply take the roller out of the hinge and move it to a different slot IF this applies to your style of hinge. Two, depending on the style of tracks or rails you should be able to adjust the tracks on the sides. There will be elbow or “L” shaped brackets that connect the tracks to your wall. Those should have a nut and bolt u can loosen and allow u to slide the tracks forward or backward. Hope this helps.

Quick question. I just replaced my opener with a Chamberlain 3/4 HP. The one there that failed was 1/2 HP. The 3/4 was only $30 more, so that's why I went with that. Anyway, my question. I was looking at the rollers and decided I should probably replace those too. I went to Home Depot and they have steel and nylon. Which do you prefer?

Nylon rollers all day sir. Much more efficient and last just as long. Besides, steel rolling on steel? creates unwanted noise and over time causes a terrible hard grind in the tracks. Nylon, and its not even close! Thank you sir!

@dapperdudesgaragellc3745 That's what I was thinking, just wanted a second opinion. Thanks! By the way, I saw on your web site, you are located in San Antonio. I was in the Air Force 20 years. 8 of those were at Randolph AFB, my best assignment overall.

@dapperdudesgaragellc3745 I was at Lackland 6 weeks for Basic Training. Lived in Waco previous 5 years. There's also Ft Sam Houston. The hospital there is where they sent me when I needed an appendectomy years ago. I tried to stay in San Antonio, but a new base commander came to Randolph and decided all the " homesteaders" should leave to give others the opportunity to come there. So, I was sent to the Pentagon next assignment. 😆

@@dapperdudesgarage I got 12 nylon rollers and have one more quick question. Should I coat the shaft (not the nylon part) with anything before installing? Like wheel bearing grease or something else? Or just leave it alone as is?

Some service guys are fast, but cut corners and low quality work. Others do great quality but are slow. Dapper Dudes are both fast and provides high quality work.
