Thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed today's video 🖤 As a creative project, would you rather a woodwork or sew? Or both? My answer's always both 😉
I am making an alcove bed for my room. I’m very experienced in carpentry but I know nothing about sewing. Your video, demeanor, and style was literally everything I’m about! I imagined the same style of curtains for my project and I am so impressed by your work! I’m officially a new fan.
I love your style and how you put your videos together! My only issue was I could hardly see the reveal! lol I love black too but it is hard to see. Maybe brighten things up a bit? I had my brightness maxed out! lol But sure it was stunning! I was trying so hard to see the cornice board, but from what I saw before you hung it, it's gorgeous and the drapes are great too! I'm about to embark on a similar project in my living room so I was thrilled to find your video!! Thanks for sharing!
I know, I'm so sorry. I was still learning (and still am) how to film in low light my house is so dark and I was trying so hard to avoid crazy noise. I am going to have to re-film it now with my new set up and see if I can re edit the video.
I think the people who are having trouble seeing the reveal might be using a device where the blacks don't show up well. I'm on my phone and it has great capability of dealing with blacks so I can see it just fine but I know on my computer it wouldn't be visible. So for those who can't see it try a different device and see if that works. Also, be sure to turn up the brightness to see if that helps. Anyhow, great job! I would never be able to come up with something like this on my own so it's great having someone else come up with the plans that I can just follow😂 Lastly, it's really important to learn to use table saws correctly... Only saying that because I'm worried about your safety and the safety of anyone else watching. Always always always use the push stick between the fence and the blade. You're using it on the left side of the blade (which would be fine if the fence were also on the left side). This is extraordinarily dangerous because it could push your piece into the blade and cause horrific kickback. Please watch a few TH-cam videos on table saw safety and usage. I'd really hate to see you get hurt!! ❤
Thank you so much for your comment, appreciate all the input! I went in and clipped out that section just so no one does the same, very much appreciate the education 🖤
Those would’ve been insanely expensive to have purchased drapery for that specific window. It seems like. In your video it looks like a very tall window. I’m sure it still was an expensive project. I’m sure was way less than having custom drapery made from somebody else doing it. Those are bad ass, I love velvet, crushed velvet, leather and lace. They are a beautiful fabric and just I love it so much and when I see you used that crushed velvet girl, I was like those are sweet.😂❤
The lace I got from Etsy (www.etsy.com/listing/1074932588/black-flocking-velvet-lace-fabricblack?ref=yr_purchases). All the other fabric I got from a local independent fabric store so I can't link them unfortunately but I used two kinds of black velvet. For the faux batting, I can't find the one I used but this is similar (www.walmart.com/ip/Shason-Textile-58-60-Wide-Solid-Anti-Pill-Fleece-1-5-Yard-Precut-Fabric-Black/216973981?athbdg=L1100&from=searchResults). For the cornice, I used a piece of plywood, wooden dowels, and 1x3s from the hardware store. 🖤
Omg you need more light!!! I barely see your drapes. I see texture… I can’t see it!!!!!!! I’m sure it’s beautiful though. I’m just sad I can’t see it. 😢
Ahh I know my house is so dark and I'm still learning about videography. I was trying to make sure things weren't too grainy but I need to keep looking for what I can do to make things more visible in the future. Thank you 🖤
Advice from someone with all their fingers intact: Never, ever use a table saw with the blade that high, without a guard, or without kickback protection! Not to be criticizing. I love the videos. I adore her style and love what I learn here. But please understand that it's very unsafe table saw practices. 🥰 There are some fantastic female content creators that teach how to be safe with table saws.
Thank you so much for your comment, I always appreciate advice and constructive criticism. I am self-taught and try my best to research safe practices and unfortunately miss things. I definitely was not making this as an instruction on how to use a table saw but I very much appreciate knowing this for the future! Thank you 🖤
You're so welcome! I'm self taught, too and doing a lot of the same type of repairs and remodeling with my home. At first, I did the same thing because that's how m3n teach it. lol I'm autistic and I genuinely care about your safety and I'm really glad that it was taken as such and not like being mean. I realized later that it might have sounded super sarcastic. 😬
It's so sad I couldn't appreciate your work because everything was so very dark in your picture. You should have put a spotlight on it so we can see your finished work. Then you could have gone back to your dark room vibe.

I like both! And I love how you incorporate both. Very creative!

You are fabulous! Love this!

How are the dowels holding up? Did you put a center support to keep them from sagging?
I didn't and everything is holding up well! The center beam down the window sandwiches the dowel in there pretty well
@@NasyaAcostaSmith awesome, you did a great job
Can you link materials used please?

Oh! The trim and things are all from Deco Pro on Etsy, most trim in my videos are from there.

I've just found your channel and... Please come decorate my house. Gorgeous. 🖤🥀
Glad you found me, and so glad you like it 🖤
So beautiful! You’ve inspired me! You should check out Christine McConnell here on TH-cam.
Thank you, so glad to hear you enjoy 🖤 oh yes, her work is amazing

Well damn, I can't even see the final result. What a shame. I imagine they looked beautiful tho.
I know I am so sorry. My house is very dark and I did my best with the little tools I had at that time I will have to try and re-film at some point 🖤
@@NasyaAcostaSmith No don't be sorry. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a c*nt. You did fantastic! Better than I could!
Watched the whole thing but couldn't see any part of the reveal. Much too dark. Seemed like it was going to be pretty though.
