i imagine massive mansion with this 1:1 scale replica of loft maybe in basement because Sam's would likely do that just because its hilarious. I do believe that if he gets a chance he will make a proper layout, that's the threat he did a ways back i believe in livestream? "its all temporary" he said ... its temporary for decade now tho.
I am not a train enthusiast in the slightest, and I only watch these videos because the TH-cam algorithm somehow sucked me in: but what impresses me about this retrospective is the clear acquisition of expertise over time, by dint of enthusiasm, investment of time and resources, and a consequent growing familiarity with the source material. It reminds me of my own journey with classical music. And it's a nice lesson in how "book learning" isn't the be-all and end-all in acquisition of profound insight. Congratulations and thank you for many hours of vicarious enjoyment!
Great to see Chloe again. She's got a great sense of humor too. I've only been a subscriber for a few months so this look back has been a real treat. Keep up the great work.
You were my favourite TH-camr from 2014 to 2020 and since then you have been top three and now heading for first again if not already first and you have come so far just keep doing what you love and we will always be here with you on that journey 🥹
Congrats on 10 years mate. I started watching a couple of years back with my father, we have gotten back into the hobby and your videos have helped us an awful lot at making smart consumer decisions with your informative reviews. I really appreciate your hard work mate. Cheers.
You have come a long way mukka. Congratulations. I feel humbled that I was able to enlighten you here and there on occasions with various bits of locomotive and wagon terminology. (Good to know my railway career was not a total waste of time!!! 😂) May you continue to succeed in your new endeavours and succeed with the equally inspiring Chloe. Regards as always, your driver in Oz. Gaz
Congratulations Sam. I have said this before, but this was the first channel (of any kind) I subscribed to on TH-cam. I can’t work out when I did that, the first video I recognised here was the 1361, but it must have been before that. I watched the Tango, so maybe around then? Anyway, this channel got me through the dark times of 2020 and I thank you for that. All the best.
Congratulations on 10 years Sam. Your videos been watched a lot recently as I've been recovering from emergency surgery and your video been helping pass the time away. So thank you Sam and keep up.
Thank you so much - I wish you a very full and speedy recovery, I hope you're doing well my friend, keep me posted. So glad the videos could help you in a small way, Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@Sam'sTrains thanks. I'm getting there. Been doing some n gauge modelling to keep me going as well as youtube binge watching so again thanks to you and congratulations on the 10 years
Congratulations Sam on 10 years on TH-cam , I think I have been with you for about 9 of them as I remember the first different look videos . Also we didn't see you for quite a while and how good to put face to the voice when you started presenting in person , looking forward to the next 10 years . Kind regards...........Peter, the grandchildren and great grandson .
Thank you so much Peter - you certainly have been around for the vast, vast majority of it... I remember we talked back in the early days about those Hornby Counties... think you actually introduced me to those locos! Hope everything is well with you and the grand/great grandchildren, many thanks again for your kind support, Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I am glad to have watched your videos since 2017 I think, and I have watched more or less everyone since then, not all on day they get uploaded as of my work and everything, and I am happy to see you every time you upload a video and it's definitely nice to see Chloe as a guest in this video too. I haven't watched most of your early videos, but I do enjoy a lot of things and this is great to see you on here. Congratulations on reaching ten years on TH-cam and it's nice to see a lot of your videos and it's great.
Well done on a decade of fun videos, Sam. The first one I remember seeing was your demonstration of the 'Tart Class' engine. A real WTF? moment, followed by the realisation that you are, in fact, a surreal comedy genius, who does really good reviews: if something's good, then it's praised. If it's shonky, then you'll say so, and why. Well done! 👍👍👍
10 years? Good god. This time 7 years ago I started watching this channel. Boy do I feel old now. Dry rails and smooth running! Here’s to another 10 years! Cheers for all the memories! From Oliver
Well done Sam. Its four and a half years ago since I saw some of your Mr Sam's Trains videos and I bought my first train set. I, along with many others, appreciate the sound advice you have given. You really do know your stuff.
Thank you so much Terence - so glad to have you along for the journey - really do appreciate your kind and continued support, Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Sam and Chloe, congrats on a decade of airtime. I have been following you for two years now. I really enjoy the channel and value your reviews. My first train set was 3 rail in the late 1960s which I destroyed as a seven year old- something my dad always regretted. My first 'super detail' loco was a GWR prairie which had - can you believe it- wire handrails, not moulded ones. So I'm with you with the Mainline Patriot excitement back in the day. I think you and Chloe are great online when we get you together. Keep up the good work and here's to the channel going from strength to strength.
Congratulations Sam! Quite the journey from scratch essentially having grown into a well seasoned TH-camr. I think we have discovered you about 3 years ago now and we are always most chuffed about your distinctive style; a healthy combination of proficiency, commitment to the hobby, joy and hilarity. We've often said to ourselves, 'the BBC could pick you up' for the professional finesse you have developed. Happy 10 years Sam 👏👏👏
It’s so cool to see you doing this and the top 10 locomotives list brought back memories of the first time I saw your videos on the ambulance train pack
Congratulations Sam! This is really cool to be apart of! I may not have been here for too long, but even in the 3-4 years I’ve been watching, I have seen a huge improvement in video quality from you!
OMG - TEN YEARS ON - this means I was ten years yonger than I am now, at 76, when you first began. You're still on track - I'm chuffed (Sam's Trains taught me what chuffed is, as a Yank, I'm thankful for that Sam). I have the great good fortune to not only follow Sam's Trains, but I've ridden the London to Edinburgh Night Train twice.
Congratulations Sam, I've been watching your channel since I moved abroad a few years ago. Your videos provide me with 3 things I associate a lot with the UK: great entertainment, great humour and amazing steam locomotives when I feel a bit homesick. Thanks for being awsome Sam. P.S Chloe is an absolute star and I hope you guys will be happy together forever.
The railroad I work on is operating Day Out With Thomas this week in the states, and I jokingly had to point out to somebody that Thomas does not have sprung buffers. They knew immediately that I was referencing you.
Heartiest congratulations Sam. We really enjoyed this on a cold autumn afternoon in Brisbane! It may have already been mentioned but in 1961, three Hornby Dublo Deltic locomotives pulled a trolley with an 8 stone woman. One loco pulled a 3 stone boy!
Happy ten years! You've come a long way, and provided some inspiration for me to start my own channel as well. Thanks for the great videos and entertainment, and here's to the next ten, twenty, as long as you can keep doing this.
It is sad how conditions are sort of prohibitive to the Thomas content, I really enjoyed that stuff. Fun to see this channel's evolution from the Mr Sam's Trains stuff, being 17 myself, I wonder what I'll be looking back at in 10 years... Keep up the good work, Sam! P.S. when did Bullman join us?
Yes it is unfortunately, but I will keep up with the reviews when new models come out! I wonder that too - good luck with everything you decide to try! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Congratulations on 10 years Sam! I have always enjoyed watching your videos (even the wierd ones) and you inspired me to revisit my childhood hobby when I needed it most for which I will always be grateful. Keep doing what you are doing it is all fab.
Absolutely brilliant Sam. Happy 10th Birthday. I always used to dip in and out of your channel many years ago, if I needed to see what a model was like before I bought one but now I'm a full subscriber for the last 4-5 years and I've enjoyed every second of it 😂
Happy 10 years, Sam, i've loved your videos since the day you started, keep up the good work, and let's get to 20 years. 2 things, can i have a shout out by you in your next video, and i was watching LaZeR JETs live stream, and he asked us to tell you that he said congratulations on reaching 10 years on TH-cam
Congratulations on 10 years! You helped inspire my interest in model trains and kept me going even when mental health issues really hurt my interest in the hobby so thank you. Best luck on your next 10 years!
Congratulations Sam and thanks for going back in time, as a recent subscriber to the channel, it is great to see where you have come from. Chloe brings an extra dimension to your videos and make you more natural. Here is to the next ten years!
Happy birthday to your channel, Sam. I think that what makes it ticks so well is the fact that you're enjoying what you do, and it's communicative to us, your viewers.
Since I fell on the channel I noticed how Sam is a perfect TV host. How many reviews did I see since then! Not only for the matter, trains, which luckily has a wide share on the Internet, but also for the lovely manner Sam manages to apply to any information he gives. My mouth never yawns, my eyes and my ears are quite steady with attention, and when it ends, all I want to do is watch another one. I even came (listen to this!) to be thankful to the Covid lockdown, because it gave me more time and chances to watch Sam's Trains. Being a continental, I had little knowledge of the peculiar British railway system, I was only aware it existed. Now, thanks to Sam, my position is quite different, and after any review I go on the net to learn any further information on history and collect many views of the prototypes. Those thoughts, I think, are shared within the great many of the 125,000, each one of which could witness in the same way, and even better, the same things. We also all know what does Sam buy: NOT persons, NOT subscribers as the liars wrote, BUT locomotives, coaches, wagons and the related stuff. We see them altogerher, side by side. Not only. The care for every detail includes the attention to the quids in our pocket, and for this Sam's Trains, more than a simple review, is a truthful and thorought guide to the art, useful to everybody, be it be to those who can afford expenses in train modeling or cannot, but still can dream or learn. Nice face, nice voice, fair speech, honest review, correct remarking of the good and bad features. Sam should have its own train livery with the colours of the show to which we are all accostumed: the yellow of the vees, the gray of the carpet, the blue and white of many of his t-shirts and a point of red of the buffer bars, like in Piet Mondrian's painting, but with the gray instead of the black.
First, congratulations for the jubilee of the channel. From a viewers point, the main transition I think was the introduction of a camera tripod. Viewing the early episodes even in this video, it was nearly impossible for me not to feel sick, so I had to skip forwards. But the sound, although improved was not much of a problem so do not feel embarrassed :-). Second main feature was the introduction of 3D printing for me! I really love that part and would really love to see more of it, maybe even some resin printing with those newer low-smell resins? I hope you two can keep up the fun and motivation for filming all that content, thank you very much. :-)
Thank you so much! You're right - those early videos were very slapdash, I certainly wouldn't be filming these without a tri-pod now!! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I've learnt a lot watching your videos, and enjoy most of the content... Bravo young man...and Chloe's right, when she admires your CAD design skills... The 3D printing adds a lot to the channel... Cheers,...
You're great, Sam! So happy I found this channel, since I've loved model trains since I was about 3 years old. Best of luck in the future to you and your ❤!
Happy anniversary to you Sam and you have done well over 10 years , when I first started on here I didn't talk , but like a lot you learn over time and everyone on here including my self doesn't like our early stuff, loved that Halloween video. and as I am a Historical reenactor too I think you did very good with that and a bit of Shakespeare with Macbeth ! or as actors say " that Scottish play " 😂, but well done on 10 years 😊🍾
Congrats Sam on 10yrs. Good to see Chloe too..! Well Done on your Development over time. You have improved Leaps & Bounds in your Time. When I first Subscribed a Couple of years ago. I Scrolled Throu. some of your early work. Your Growth was Obvious. (If not Bleeding Obvious..!) Great work Sam, I enjoyed this Retrospective on your work. Even if you Hated the Experience..! Well Done Sir. Or is it Mr Sam..!? Cheers All. Kim in Oz.😎
Well done for enduring on TH-cam for 10 years and producing consistently great content! I hope you can keep going for the forseeable future... or at least until you dethrone Hornby and Bachmann with your homemade models.
Congrats on your first 10 years, Sam! Unlike so many other TH-camrs, you've established your brand, refined your style and presentation approach, and improved you product, both technically and from a content perspective. This is what most TH-camrs don't do, and they either give up or are still getting tens - or at most 100s - of views. Looking forward to sharing the next 10 years with you. Love Salvage or Scrap, BTW...
Chloe is a keeper! Nice to see you being so self confident and relaxed on camera Chloe. You two make a great team.
She definitely is.
You know Sam, if you ever move to a bigger house, you will have to re-build the loft as a set in a studio. It is a channel trademark by now.
i imagine massive mansion with this 1:1 scale replica of loft maybe in basement because Sam's would likely do that just because its hilarious.
I do believe that if he gets a chance he will make a proper layout, that's the threat he did a ways back i believe in livestream? "its all temporary" he said ... its temporary for decade now tho.
Yes - definitely, those yellow roof truss diagonals are all part of the Sam's Trains trademark! - wouldn't be the same without them ;)
You and Chloe are so charming in this video. Congratulations on 10 years of happy trains!
Thank you so much Joe, really appreciate it! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Here's to the next 10 years!! My main go-to channel for honest reviews.
Keep at it Sam.
Cheers, Gary.
Happy 10! I’m with you on the spring buffers.
😂 brilliant some real lol moments especially Chloe's face re the frog. Great stuff loved it all. Congratulations 🎉
Sam oughta make a t-shirt design with him wearing sunglasses and a slogan that says, "I'm all about those sprung buffers"
Many congratulations 🎉
Congratulations young Sir and Miss.
Don't even own a single train but for some reason I enjoy watching you videos.
Keep up the good work.
Congrats on 10 years mate. I started watching a couple of years back with my father, we have gotten back into the hobby and your videos have helped us an awful lot at making smart consumer decisions with your informative reviews. I really appreciate your hard work mate. Cheers.

See you in another 10.

I'm glad I stuck around to the end for the boiled frog analogy and Chloe's reaction face.
i never realized it's been 10 years! i joined your channel about 8 years ago, here's to another 10!

Love this Sam, I've been popping in and out for the last couple of years and enjoy your take on the trains. Keep it up.
Congratulations. I’ve only been following you for around 4 years, but they have been great.

My favourite that some may not remember is your psycotic episode!
Ten years is a real achievement. Congratulations. Your videos are educational, entertaining and lots of fun. Very best wishes for your next decade.
You're great, Sam! So happy I found this channel, since I've loved model trains since I was about 3 years old. Best of luck in the future to you and your ❤!
Happy anniversary to you Sam and you have done well over 10 years , when I first started on here I didn't talk , but like a lot you learn over time and everyone on here including my self doesn't like our early stuff, loved that Halloween video. and as I am a Historical reenactor too I think you did very good with that and a bit of Shakespeare with Macbeth ! or as actors say " that Scottish play " 😂, but well done on 10 years 😊🍾
Happy 10 Years Sam!! You are an inspiration to us who are starting ou!

Well done for enduring on TH-cam for 10 years and producing consistently great content! I hope you can keep going for the forseeable future... or at least until you dethrone Hornby and Bachmann with your homemade models.
Congratulations, Sam! Cheers on your achievement and to the next decades of Sam’s Trains-the most inspirational and influential channel in the hobby!
Thank you so much - that's so kind of you to say! :)
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Congratulations on 10 years. I started watching your channel in late 2018 I think, when your "Miles" video popped up in my recommended videos.
