You know Sam, if you ever move to a bigger house, you will have to re-build the loft as a set in a studio. It is a channel trademark by now.
i imagine massive mansion with this 1:1 scale replica of loft maybe in basement because Sam's would likely do that just because its hilarious.
I do believe that if he gets a chance he will make a proper layout, that's the threat he did a ways back i believe in livestream? "its all temporary" he said ... its temporary for decade now tho.
Yes - definitely, those yellow roof truss diagonals are all part of the Sam's Trains trademark! - wouldn't be the same without them ;)

I am not a train enthusiast in the slightest, and I only watch these videos because the TH-cam algorithm somehow sucked me in: but what impresses me about this retrospective is the clear acquisition of expertise over time, by dint of enthusiasm, investment of time and resources, and a consequent growing familiarity with the source material. It reminds me of my own journey with classical music. And it's a nice lesson in how "book learning" isn't the be-all and end-all in acquisition of profound insight.

I have said this before, but this was the first channel (of any kind) I subscribed to on TH-cam.
I can’t work out when I did that, the first video I recognised here was the 1361, but it must have been before that. I watched the Tango, so maybe around then?
Anyway, this channel got me through the dark times of 2020 and I thank you for that.

I am glad to have watched your videos since 2017 I think, and I have watched more or less everyone since then, not all on day they get uploaded as of my work and everything, and I am happy to see you every time you upload a video and it's definitely nice to see Chloe as a guest in this video too. The first one I remember seeing was your demonstration of the 'Tart Class' engine. A real WTF? moment, followed by the realisation that you are, in fact, a surreal comedy genius, who does really good reviews: if something's good, then it's praised. If it's shonky, then you'll say so, and why.

Hi Sam and Chloe, congrats on a decade of airtime. I have been following you for two years now. I really enjoy the channel and value your reviews. My first train set was 3 rail in the late 1960s which I destroyed as a seven year old- something my dad always regretted. My first 'super detail' loco was a GWR prairie which had - can you believe it- wire handrails, not moulded ones. So I'm with you with the Mainline Patriot excitement back in the day. I think you and Chloe are great online when we get you together. Keep up the good work and here's to the channel going from strength to strength.

Heartiest congratulations Sam. We really enjoyed this on a cold autumn afternoon in Brisbane! It may have already been mentioned but in 1961, three Hornby Dublo Deltic locomotives pulled a trolley with an 8 stone woman. One loco pulled a 3 stone boy!

this means I was ten years yonger than I am now, at 76, when you first began.
You're still on track - I'm chuffed (Sam's Trains taught me what chuffed is, as a Yank, I'm thankful for that Sam).
I have the great good fortune to not only follow Sam's Trains, but I've ridden the London to Edinburgh Night Train twice.

I always used to dip in and out of your channel many years ago, if I needed to see what a model was like before I bought one but now I'm a full subscriber for the last 4-5 years and I've enjoyed every second of it 😂

It is sad how conditions are sort of prohibitive to the Thomas content, I really enjoyed that stuff. Fun to see this channel's evolution from the Mr Sam's Trains stuff, being 17 myself, I wonder what I'll be looking back at in 10 years... Keep up the good work, Sam!

First, congratulations for the jubilee of the channel. From a viewers point, the main transition I think was the introduction of a camera tripod. Viewing the early episodes even in this video, it was nearly impossible for me not to feel sick, so I had to skip forwards. But the sound, although improved was not much of a problem so do not feel embarrassed :-).
Second main feature was the introduction of 3D printing for me! I really love that part and would really love to see more of it, maybe even some resin printing with those newer low-smell resins?
I hope you two can keep up the fun and motivation for filming all that content, thank you very much. :-)
