    I just received my JPX 923 forged irons after about 8 years of playing Mizuno JPX 850s. The 850s were improperly fitted, 2 inches long and upright, so it is very difficult to get used to the new clubs. But I just wanted to report that, even on my first round, what AskGolfNut is reporting about the forgiveness of the 923 forged's is exactly what I experienced. They are far more forgiving than my big 850s. I have similar swing speed at AskGolfNut, maybe a couple lower (average 86-88). I had 164 to a back pin, my target was 150 to front 160 to target, a little uphill. I hit an 8i so far off the toe that it was a couple mill from the steel. I couldn't believe it. My ball was on the green, 151, uphill! I had the same distance on a par 3. 165 to pin but flat, no wind, 80 degrees, sunny. I hit the 8, pulled it a bit but pin high, right off the sweet spot. If your miss is a toe miss, these clubs are gold!!

    Excellent review ! So glad I found your channel and subscribed :) I am sharing with my group. A111 !! BTW - please remind people that true forged has such a better feel compared to 'face forged only'. It's a big point for people who love the feedback from different strike points. It's one of the reasons I dropped TM, Ping, and Titleist. All had springy faces but poor feel. Mizuno and Srixon are just such quality .. plus you get to support the 'quality' underdog's vs the 'marketing' beasts !

      Still trying to get hold of the Titleist irons to test. May have to buy them at this rate to get the reviewed before the new ones are released 🤣🤣

    I got the 923 forged with the NS Pro 950GH Neo shaft. My 7 iron carry is about 160 yards but rollout to total 170, spin rate a bit under 5000… hmm

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Low spin isn't necessarily a bad thing as with 7 irons etc it's not until you get into the wedges where spin is there to assist stopping power. Spin in the majority of clubs is there fro consistency of flight. If you have a lower spin rate though and have fluctuating spin numbers then this may well have a large discrepancy to distance.
      I'd go and have a lesson with testing in mind to get a fuller picture of how you could look go tweak the equipment to get your spin profile up above 5k 👍🏻

      In a lot of people's eyes, Mizuno have managed to tweak the design and aesthetics of the Forged over the years for it to be a serious competitor in most head to heads 👍🏻

    what shaft weight and flex did you use for this test? I am considering for my next iron btw zx5 mk2 and jpx923 forged now. It is very helpful for me. Thx, bro.
