I have an 2002 Thor Dutchman classic that has a Dometic Duo Therm 13.5k btu a/c unit with a non digital thermostat control, (analog) mounted on the wall unit right now, my question is ,can I install a newer type Dometic 15k like the one you installed on your rv as a replacement of my 13.5k btu without having to change anything? I really appreciate your knowledge and awesome videos , please let me know what I have to do to upgrade to a 15k btu unit....thanks in advance...
Take it easy in that heat man, dang. It's been mid upper 90s and humid in San Diego this week. The basement unit in our Winnie has been working quite a bit but doing well. Until yesterday anyway, the dreaded fan bushing squeaking has made itself known so looks like I'll be pulling the unit out this weekend and replacing the bushings with bearings that I ordered from Grainger....yay.
Thanks, it was cloudy everytime I wasn't on the roof. I did cool off when I had to cool the camera off. I'm sorry about the bushing, let me know how it goes.
Hey could really use tour help! Replacing duo therm Dometic with a Penguin ll I’m stumped on the wiring became elected to do a new thermostat. This thing it has telephone plugs I’m lost.
This is a great video I already changed one of these units out with it and put in a heat pump model. I have a question though, I'm putting in another one without a heat pump. Where does the white neutral that would tie into the violet reversing wire go on one without a heat pump? Side note it is an nxt model. Edit: I'm leaning towards its not used.
no, that is only for Dometic. Coleman's use a control box and they have zoned boxes that could use the existing wiring, but it would be more than double the price of replacing with Dometic units and not something I would recommend
AZ Expert thanks. I did catch it was Dometic to new Dometic. Just wondered. Thanks I’ll pass the word. We have three zones and we don’t want to change it out.
I purchased and installed the EasyStart Version from MircoAir and I believe it works just like the SoftStart. I installed it on my new 2020 Navion 24D and it works wonderful. When hooked to shore power at home, I can run off a 15 amp circuit with ease. My reason for installing the EasyStart is so that I can run my A/C for brief periods off my 2000 watt inverter and my 250ah of Lithium batteries. I know currently the A/C is wired outside the inverter and I am hoping to figure out how to change that, anyone out there know?
Great job and explained instructions very well. 👍

Again, another Great video........... Just wished I lived closer to AZ when I need a top notch RV Tech, if and when I can't fix my problem.
Thank you for your confidence and kind words. I generally think I do anything that could not be done as a DIY.

Hope you're well...starting to cool off here in Salton City.
it's getting cooler, but I don't expect nice weather until November. Thanks!

Thank you for the great video. Where does the thermostat get it’s 12 V power supply?
Mine will not turn on.
It's different for each RV but in general if it does not have a dedicated circuit it likely gets power from the furnace. Thanks!
how can I contact you?

Great video except you didn't show how to install the inside plenum shroud.
Sorry
Very helpful thanks for sharing !
Will that converter work with a Coleman Mach 8? Asking for a friend.

Winnebago generally has the wiring schematic available fairly easily which would show how the 120vac was wired. Good luck!
This is ducted no heat!
Why bother...You skipped most of the board..USELESS
