Thanks for your instructions and tips. Changed out my a/c by myself watching the video. 2000 Monaco Dynasty 40’. Too cheap to hire someone and too hard headed to ask for help. I’m 84. ( You only live once). I’m subscribed to your channel and check out your other videos. Thanks again for what you do. You’ve saved me probably thousands since I prefer to do my own maintenance.
*Works so well **Fastly.Cool** for rv that it only requires daytime operation until high temp and humidity are overnight. It is difficult to get to side filters, but back is easily accessible.*
RV owners spend a lot of time & effort trying to keep water out of their RV, and Dometic comes along a decides its a grand idea to have the AC condensate run thru the interior of the roof and walls to the ground. Brilliant, just brilliant.
Great video as always, thank you. Any idea what the correct part number for the 3 AC power wires would be that plugs into the new unit 3 pin yellow connector from the coach end? My Monaco hard wired it in but I want to use the correct connector. Dometic provides no information on it.
Great video, thanks! I want to add these to my rig too. My question is, doesn't adding the second foam square cause the "snoot" that connects the incoming air to be too short? In my case, it's a specific length, with attachment ears on top and bottom.
Did Beaver place condensate lines in their Marquis? What about the Patriot Thunder, did those have drains installed? Can such a hose be run afterwards on our vintage rigs today?
I had the exact same question while editing this video. I would say yes, but I can't imagine any manufacturer using Brisk Airs on RVs with condensate drains.
@@AZExpert I replaced the 13,500 Penguin on my Sprinter SR24 with the Brisk air II with a Brisk II 15,000 BTU when it quit and is is quieter and the Compressor doesn't "thump" like the Penguin. The Penguin would not cool it in the summer. The Brisk will absolutely refrigerate it in the Heat of the Summer. I am just looking for a way to stop the outside drip down the side or over the Slide toppers. Thank you for responding to my question. Just looking for a way or a source can't find a kit on Dometic. Love to watch your videos. Thanks Steve
Honestly, this seems like an idea a RV owner or RV tech would come up with in a pinch, I'm baffled the AC manufacturer doesn't have a better idea than to cut the roof seal and add another one.
I noticed you have a philosophy on roofs around front and rear caps being the material over rather than tucked under. Does this apply to Class C and Class A RV as well? On the units you have done this way, any reports of leaks or bubbles? Seems like a logical plan.
Thanks for the video. I will have to see what's inside mine. The water runs off the side, usually at the door! Do you have a suggested product for removing oxidation on an RV? Respectfully, Kevin
Of the two major manufacturers, I prefer Coleman/RVP over Dometic.....but I think the new Furrions may be the best, but time will tell on their durability.
I am very jealous of NOBO as those are the trailers I'd like to be manufacturing. Obviously, Winnebago trailers are a bit better quality and have a stronger company behind them, but at the end of the day, small trailers, come down to pricing.
@@AZExpert Wow, I am so glad i saw this Video, I have been waiting for 6 weeks for three Penguin 2's. I would have been upset to find out that i needed to wait longer to install them. I will order 3 kits tomorrow. Thanks for all you do!
"Not saying I have ever put it on backwards before" That means you have learned that lesson the hard way. Sure glad that I have NEVER done anything like that. wink wink
Eeek, filter ?? I have a ceiling panel. I don’t even know how to get to the AC. I sat right there when the dealers guys pulled them all (3) up and replaced the seals. It’s time. Yup , one behind the rear axel, mid ship and behind the front axel. Stay safe , thanks
I didn’t mean to sound rude, but it takes hours for oil to migrate back to compressor. That’s why u don’t lay refrigerators on their sides when moving them😊

That's always been my thought too....and I have seen at least 10 times these have leaked a few times it rotted out the ceiling.
As usual , I learn a ton through your videos, thank you for the education I get , much appreciated
Very welcome
*Works great **Fastly.Cool** compact and Easy to install*
Sweet
Great video James. You could make dumping the black tank interesting. Many thanks.
Thank you!!!
Thanks for another informative video. Well done James. Happy trails!
Thanks for watching!
My 3 airstreams and monaco signature all had. Have drain tube systems.
I would notxwant an RV without 😔
Great video.
Thank's
thank you, they are great
2 of the 3 Domedic heat air conditioner units on my Country Coach Affinity leak at times. You are amazing!
Wow, thanks!

Wow. You made it look so easy. Thank you!

Could you use spray paint for plastic to give the drip pan UV protection?
Valuable content for me... Great channel!
Glad you think so!
I didn't get why they have to put the drain hose inside when it can drain right on the roof.
thxs for the tips, I have to do the same on my new a/c
could a drain kit be added to the Dometic Brisk II roof ac ?

Az expert- I am looking for someone to help me wire up my dometic penguin ii in my VanRet49 install.
Any recommendations?
Man the engineer for that great idea earned his money didn’t he?Just let it run over to the gutter and off the back of the RV. Like my RV does.
Honestly, this seems like an idea a RV owner or RV tech would come up with in a pinch, I'm baffled the AC manufacturer doesn't have a better idea than to cut the roof seal and add another one.
Wondering about this because I usually have a river running all over the sides of my RV.. Thanks
No worries! You must be in a humid area.
Your thoughts on the best way to remove the remaining luan that is stuck to the foam once you pull up the main roof decking? Any fast ways to do so?
I only use putty knives to pull the last little bit off.
Thanks James. Great info as always!
My pleasure!

I have no recommendations other than standard wash and waxes. I have found little difference between the most expensive and cheapest.
I have a 2014 Airstream with the same AC unit. Any reason to replace the old base gasket with a new one or just go over the existing?
only if the seal is falling off or damaged.
Thank you for sharing. In your opinion what is the best roof A/C?

i just learned something,thanks .
Glad to hear it!
Which one would you buy a NOBO RV Trailer or Winnebago Micro Mini RV Trailer?

Where did you get the kit. Can't find it
I got it from my local supplier. Dometic part number
P/N 3107688.016
You are the best.
Thank you!!
When boondocking can you drink that water filtered through a Brita?
I wouldnt, but technically yes
NO!
Do Brand New Penguin II units come with this drain kit?
no, this is an optional add-on.

How did you deal with only having 3 bolts? does the third bolt interfere with the roof ducting?
Thanks again !!! ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
No problem 👍
Quality issues just keep coming back to the initial build and repairs
that is the truth

@@AZExpert If you are not making mistakes, it might be because you aren't doing anything.
Wonder how many people watched this and suddenly realized they have never changed their filters.
I don't see air filters too bad that often.
REALLY enjoyed this! And I wish my New Horizons had this on the 2 mini split units!
Thank you very much!!

I would have replaced the gloves when you went inside they looked filthy.
yeah they get dirty, but swapping gloves with sweaty hands takes a fair amount of time, and then they just get dirty again.
Looks like it will clog and ruin the roof.
I have seen that yes.
We didn’t see anything 🤫 😂
Whew!!! I tried my best!
Justin, follow this guy.
thanks!!!
You should no better than to let that ac Set upside down
I guess I don't

Not surprised rv’s use sae, ewe gross
There's a fair amount of meteric but construction in North America is a SAE world. Thanks!
