Mate bloody hell, I watched your Qashqai clutch video and said never again. Now I got this Antara and when you say come on let’s do this guys I’m just like oh here we go again
Thanks for watching the video. As far as the Transfer box is concerned no real issue with the transfer box. But gearbox not the best on all Vauxhall's. Be careful if you are replacing the clutch. Make sure you hold the crank pulley side
wow what a fella so professional really enjoyed this vid .wish i lived near you i have a 65 plate Antara needs a new alternator . i did live near you but now in devon if you fancy a weekend away bring your tools lol
Thanks for watching really appreciate it. I'll be straight up honest with you after doing this one I promise myself I wont do another one it's too hard of a job.
Wow😮 🎉🎉🎉! Where are you based in the UK? And would you be willing to film doing this again for a TH-cam video of you teaching how to do this? I will provide all parts necessary and remunerate you for your time. Looking forward to seeing more of your content, many thanks and all the best
Hi mate to be honest I had no idea it would be that hard to do. I really don't fancy doing another one to be honest. Thanks for watching really appreciate it.
@@TEAMR4ULTV not even if you were just telling a spirited beginner...'loosen that bolt, remove that bit etc etc' whilst enjoying a few cups of tea & biscuits to go with. Much more consultant rather than technician??? Really checking out all the content on your channel, bloody good stuff 💪😎❤️
Hello friend and thanx for you vidéo. Can you exactly tell me what I should remove for a starter replacement ? The transfert box removal is obliged ? Thank you !
Hello my friend to be honest not the easiest job replacing the starter motor, but I think you need to take the transfer box off, then your most of the way there, obviously the two starter bolts on the bottom Also there will be one on top of the starter motor, sorry I couldn't be more helpful
Great to watchThank you, being an ex Manc runner I'm use to the bolt of death 😂. Just one question please 2016 Antara 2.2 diesel or Honda CRV for more money ?
My son has a Chevrolet Captiva which is same thing. I think the clutch is going, I also think he should take to to a professional and Ive rebuilt a Lotus!
Nice video! If my Captiva needs a new clutch I will just scrap it! I changed the DPF and the transfer box on my own in front of my house! ( not on the same occasion). How much did you charge for this job?
Not the cheapest job in the world All together parts and labour cost £1400 But it was the first one I did on Antara but I will charge about £1800 if I have to do it again
Hi mate when you changed the clutch on the vauxhall antara 2.2 did you have to take the gearbox oil out before you removed the drive shaft or can I change the drive shaft with out taking the gearbox oil out
Always enjoy these videos 👍they are up there at the top with the best out there!! Can you give any advice on changing a starter motor for the Antara 2.2 4x4 approx 2012 model? Thanks in advance 👍👍
This is a horrible car. I’m halfway through a gear change cable replacement and I’ve lost the will to live. I’ve spent 7 hours just getting everything apart and the new cable back in. How did you get the linkage cable brackets in its home? The new cable seems way too stiff to bend it into place.
@@TEAMR4ULTV just finished it mate did in bang on 7 hours. Not mocking you mate but you missed a big trick on this one. If you take the subframe off before undoing anything on the transfer box, it makes accessing all the transfer box bolts easy as pie. But wanted to say a big thanks for the video as it defo saved me an hour knowing what i was up against so massive thanks for that

Lol trust me never again am doing a Antara. Anyway thanks for watching really appreciate it
Brilliant video with plenty of details. I have to do my Antara shortly..so this video will come in handy.
Thanks again for making it 👍
Thanks for watching really appreciate it
Don't know if your still working there but thanks, I can see why hardly anyone wants to do a clutch change.
Rally good and informative video thanks guys great job do you know of any tranfer box issues with this vehicle ? Thanks Chris

I would go for honda all day long. But if you go for the Antara you can probably sell it off in the future people for some reason buy them.
Thank you.

It's better to drain the oil. It will be easy for you
@@TEAMR4ULTV thank mate
Hi, can you tell my please, do you needed any specific tools for this job? Or its just random tools needed?
No special tools needed
Spanners
Ratchet and sockets
Torque sets
Just your normal tools
Ok, thank you, ill try to go on it this weekend, at home in a garage.
Hi, do you need to support the engine from the top when gearbox out?
Thanks for watching really appreciate it. Yes you need to support the engine.

Wow that's a hard job. Am sorry but I haven't done one yet am sorry
@@TEAMR4ULTV Really appreciate the reply. May just have to bite the bullet and give it a go 😬anyway thanks again and keep them posts coming 👍
When I did the clutch I didnt have to take the starter off but had a look at it and thought that would be a tricky job.
@@TEAMR4ULTV That’s what I’m thinking 🤔 not looking forward to it but has to be sorted at some point 😂cheers Fella 👍👍
Don’t know if you ever came round to doing it but you need to take the transfer box off to access the starter motor
Long shot, but do you know specific torque for flywheel and clutch platen for this please?
Al be honest I just do them tight as I can with out snapping them
It’s a real shit job, managed to get the 2 bolts out on the bell housing behind the DPF, with out taking DPF off, A days work
Tell me about it not the easiest job in the world so awkward, hope the video helped you out
Oh no I just bought one haha well done mate
Hopefully the clutch doesn't go on you. Thanks for watching really appreciate it
Do I need subframe mounting pins when doing the clutch
Not that I know of

Scratch that. I just got to the part of the video that you mention take the whole bracket off.
Trust me with great difficulty. I hated this job
I think I would be easier to take the front panel off with radiators and then drop the sub frame complete with the engine and gearbox.
My antara clutch is awesome as i bought a auto.
Not so fast! My rear end seal started leaking, now the tranny has to come off. 12years old, 185000km
They give u 6 hours for this job on autodata. Surely it cant be 2 days!????
I think is a 8hr job to be honest its really difficult
@@TEAMR4ULTV just checked again and autodata gives 7 hours. Ive just boked my first one in and think ive underquoted 🤣 thanks for the video

I did this clutch without removing dpf
That's great. But guessing it must have been hard for you
