Fun fact: Filipino and Indonesian languages are related! All of them are part of the great Austronesian language family, which also includes the native Taiwanese languages and most Polynesian languages. :)
In terms of "relatedness", Filipino, Malaysian, and Indonesian languages are actually some of the earliest members of the family that diverged (split 3000-4000 years ago), but our ancestors had close trading ties with one another which could have led to language sharing.
The most recent languages that developed are theorized to be the Pacific-Polynesian group (split just within the last 2000 years).

There are plenty of reductions like that in order to save time. Some are even reflected in the written language. For instance, characters that end in ku or tsu are often reduced to a small つ which means you repeat the next consonant. For instance: 結 is Ketsu and 構 is kou, but 結構 is 'kekkou.' Its a little confusing at first, but very natural once you understand it.

Just listen to Mewtwo in Super Smash Bros. Melee. It's amazing. Cantonese sounds the most fun to speak, like a rollercoaster. i agree that it sounds good, but I don’t know why whites always put down other asians just for one type of asian. 😐 can’t you ever compliment a poc without saying something bad about the others? i’m starting to think whites really can’t. basically what you’re saying is: “the other languages sounded horrible and terrible and I’m gonna say they’re bad languages while not caring that’s it’s literally people’s culture and their way of communicating.” plenty of asians are respectful in the comments and can praise a language WITHOUT saying “the other languages sucked 🤣.” but ofc I’d expect this behavior from ppl like you. you’ll go around hating on certain languages just because ur unfamiliar to the sound but then get pressed when someone says russian sucks. you wanna disrespect ppl’s languages? keep that same energy then. don’t whine when ppl say your language, culture, and people are trash. 🤷🏽
