The DA,'s office is largely to blame for this, as there are a lot of inmates in there that hasn't been indicted for o er a year and rotting in jail until the DA brings their alleged crimes in front of the grand jury.
So the parties agreed to remove the non-solicitation clause, and Fulton County immediately breached the contract by not paying the security company for their services. 🤔

Why does a county jail have private security? If you were paying your own employees to do security at a public jail, then there would be no mismanagement of those funds. Law Enforcement is Law Enforcement, they are not professional managers and administrators.
The Fulton County Sheriff is ultimately responsible for the budget to run the jail. In addition, the mayor and city council are the entities that approve the budget for the Sheriff's Office. What I don't understand is why a resolution plan between the mayor, city council, and the sheriff has not been implemented in order to pay this security company. Secondly, what is the county CFO doing to possibly allocate additional funding from maybe another county program to cover the jail accounts payable? Every city or county has a beginning and ending fiscal year where all funding is broken down into budgets for each department. Normally around Oct 1 is when most cities and counties implement their new fiscal year budgets. What really doesn't make sense is the sheriff is willing to hire the security guards with a 10% raise but can't afford to pay the contracted security company the one million dollars that is owed. Someone needs to be fired or the voters need to petition for a voter recall of the county official(s) responsible for this mess.
