  • Welcome back to Tea Time with Amber! Today, while I’m having this cup of chai tea on this blustery almost-fall day, I want to talk about cultivating deeper relationships. We live in a world where busyness often takes priority over meaningful connection, but building quality relationships is so important-both for our well-being and for our walk with God. In John 15:12, Jesus tells us, 'This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.' To me, this verse is a good reminder that relationships rooted in love, understanding, and intentionality reflect Christ’s love for us.
As part of my slow and simple living journey, I’m learning to be more intentional about nurturing the relationships that matter most. For me and my family, this looks like making time to be together. We’ve been trying to make it a habit to sit down for dinner together every night. There’s just something about gathering around the table that helps us reconnect after a long day.
We also enjoy playing board and card games together-one of our favorites is *Cards Against Humanity: Family Edition*. It’s such a fun way to bring everyone together for laughter and conversation! And we enjoy having family movie nights, as well as jumping on our trampoline, too. These simple snatched moments together, though infrequent they may be currently, help us slow down and create space to deepen our bonds.
Incorporating these intentional moments into our lives doesn’t just strengthen our family relationships-it also ties into the heart of slow and simple living. Slowing down allows us to appreciate the beauty of connection, to focus on what really matters, and to reflect Christ’s love in the way we treat each other.
I’d love to hear how you cultivate quality relationships in your own life! What are some things you and your loved ones, or even friends, do to stay connected? Please share your thoughts in the comments below, or join the conversation on my Community page.

We also love game nights and family dinners. As the kids get older we try to get into whatever they are into. So right now we are into mountian biking and critiquing movies together.

That sounds wonderful! I love how you’re making an effort to engage with your kids’ interests as they grow. Mountain biking and movie critiques sound like so much fun! We’ve found the same in our home-our family activities have really evolved as the kids get older, and it’s been such a joy to experience. Thank you for sharing!🥰
