my dad got me a pitbull when I was 7 (now I'm 21) because I wanted a dog that could be my 'security guard', and they are as strong and as overprotective as they get! one day, when my dog met my cousin for the first time, my cousin patted me hard on the back as a joke and my dog straight up jumped, bit his hair and pulled him out of the front door to the yard and barked for him to leave, lol. Half the dogs shown as "American Pit Bull Terrier" are definitely not Pits, for example, the one in the thumbnail is clearly an Extreme American Bully (mix of AmStaff, APBT, and Staffie Bull). A true American Pit Bull Terrier is very lean and very muscular with a much smaller and less square head.

I don't know why people think Staffordshire Bull terriers are classed as dangerous it just depends on the owner and how they are treated. I've got 2 and they are amazingly friendly.

American Staffies are extremely intelligent and strong. The terrier family of dogs have a high prey drive so they are reliable hunting dogs(Mines go into stealth mode from her instincts). Mines almost caught a squirrel but my dad told her to leave the squirrel alone. She's smaller than usual but she mauled a cat and a fat ass groundhog unscathed. The only battle injury she got was a light scratch near her nose on her snout from fighting the cat.

My dog once got attacked by a full-grown Staffordshire Bull Terrier (#9 on this list) owned by an asshole of an owner. My dog, not afraid of anything except his own farts, attacked back. Half the dogs shown as "American Pit Bull Terrier" are definitely not Pits, for example, the one in the thumbnail is clearly an Extreme American Bully (mix of AmStaff, APBT, and Staffie Bull). A true American Pit Bull Terrier is very lean and very muscular with a much smaller and less square head.

Well you obviously don't know your stuff. Just like someone that knows nothing of these sports, you jump to the assumption that all, or even most, of the dogs are given steroids (which is not true at all) and that is why they are so great and popular for these kinds of sports. People like you seem to never take into account that if it actually was steroids that made the American Pitbull so great, then we'd see other breeds being used more often and that other breeds would able to do what American Pitbulls do. However, we don't see that at all. Just like it doesn't seem like you have seen a dogo pulling as much weight as American Pitbulls can. That's because people know you can give a dog all the steroids it can take. It still won't make them great. And even if it did, what's the point? my American pit bull terrier/lab mix punked the Shit out of a Rottweiler.. there was a couple of Rottweiler in the yard we used to walk by on our walk and one of them got overthe fence and charged us... now I've done weightpulling, speed and strength competitions with my lab/pit so she is very strong and fast... I was actually gearing up to kick the rot when it got close enough and didn't seem friendly but before I could do that my girl charged got ahold of the rotts neck and did that typical aggressive pitbull shake.. this all happened in like 6 seconds. the Rottweiler ran back home, Lol..

American Staffies are extremely intelligent and strong. The terrier family of dogs have a high prey drive so they are reliable hunting dogs(Mines go into stealth mode from her instincts). Mines almost caught a squirrel but my dad told her to leave the squirrel alone. She's smaller than usual but she mauled a cat and a fat ass groundhog unscathed. The only battle injury she got was a light scratch near her nose on her snout from fighting the cat.

surprised I didn't see English mastiff on there, saw other mastiff breeds. we had a male that weighed 272 pounds, and was a monster. strongest dog I've ever seen of any breed. stood 7 feet 4 inches on his two back legs.
My dog once got attacked by a full-grown Staffordshire Bull Terrier (#9 on this list) owned by an asshole of an owner. My dog, not afraid of anything except his own farts, attacked back. The Terrier was covered in blood after the fight. My dog also had a little bit of blood on his body, but only from the other dog. He had no wounds whatsoever, the Terrier obviously did. My dog is a Golden Retriever.
My choice: Perro de Presa Canario, Bullmastiff and Dogo Argentino (in that order).
