    Great video, as usual! I was trying to replace the hoses on my somewhat rusty 2001 325i and couldn't figure out why I couldn't get them free from the hard lines. I was trying to hold the 11mm nut steady, thinking it was a part of the hard line, and twist the hose free, which obviously wasn't working. Some bolts and stuff under the car are pretty corroded so I just figured I had a rust issue, not a dumbass issue. Now that I know I was doing it backwards I'll try again tomorrow. Just glad I wasn't dense enough to keep going and round everything off or really break something.

    Hey there. Not really a comment about this vid (though I'll eventually get to this mod), but on the series overall. I really like the approach you take, especially the fact that you cover a lot of little things most people ignore. I grew up in Detroit and have about 25 years of experience wrenching, so it bothers me when people make videos that completely gloss over basic but vital steps.
    I've done quite a bit of the repairs you've covered and I wish I would have found your channel earlier. I would have saved tons of time if i had watched your vids first. On top of helping me out, I have to also thank you keeping my son happy. He's three and he loves to watch the more mechanically involved repairs on youtube. He always enjoys it when I toss your channel on.

    Nice DIY again Ankur. I have stainless steel lines on my e36 325i vert. On the rear there are 2 lines on each side. So they changed that at the e46.. Btw when you put down the brake pedal all the way down and fix it with a piece of wood against the seat, the dripping will stop so you won't hurry up connecting the lines.. Dutch regards

    Great tutorial! I just wanted to add that I've had bad experiences with pressure bleeders getting fluid everywhere when you go to take it off. What I do now is just fill the reservoir all the way up and use the pressure bleeder with no fluid in it. Much cleaner.

    Do you have to change old brake oil first then do the brake lines or it doesn't matter you can change the old oils later after you change the brake lines

    Hey shop life, I recently replaced my crushed Brass Pivot Pin. During the process I disconnected the clutch line (from master to slave) without clamping it. I tried the 2 man clutch pump, single man vacuum, & gravity drip. All to no success. I have a pressure bleeder coming in soon.
    I did not have any leaks prior to this job & I currently do not have leaks. If the pressure bleeder didn't work, which components do you suspect are malfunctioning?

    if I change just the front lines, do I still have to bleed the whole sistem?

    that ECS bleeder with the PRV is so much nicer than the motive bleeder.

  • @michaelhall9138
    @michaelhall9138 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why not start at the furthest caliper and work towards the closet? That way you can change the line and bleed at the same time.

    Thanks for making these videos with careful details that is usually missed by other folks. One of my short mid hoses (comes out of ABS unit and goes towards the rear brakes) burst the other day on my 01 540i. I drove with it for a couple miles. I have orders a new 6pc set to replace all lines. Do I need to bleed the ABS systems? I ordered INPA software + cables (thanks to your other video on that) but not sure if ABS needs to be cycled or if there is an easy way of knowing. TIA!

    What can cause intermittent brake juddering if the brake discs are not warped? I only get it at slowing down lower speeds lime 30mph ish and before stop at medium brake pressure. No pedal judder just feel it in the cars body.

    Great job and nice DIY video i have 1 question where can i find upgrade parts for my 316ti E46? ecstuning and fcp donot have any thanks

    • @UMepher
      @UMepher 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not surprised that ECS and FCP don't stock much for a 316ti, since that model was never sold in the US where they are based. I don't know where to look, but probably best to start in whichever countries they were originally sold (whomever sells BMW stuff in Europe). Upgrade parts for 4-cylinder BMWs are probably rare anyway, since the cars were so short on power to begin with that most people interested in upgrades would just upgrade the whole car.
