We have had the Fog Hashing B6D Unit for two months now. This single-loop system holds six miners. We currently have one S19K Pro, two S19 XPs, and three S19J Pros immersed in this kit. Fog Hashing has since discontinued this model of the immersion system, but released a newer and better model, the C6, which is projected to have even better performance. Let's talk about the installation of the B6D, how the unit has been performing so far, our experience with the FogHashing team, and the next steps!

Hey do you know of any immersion system distributors in the US (preferably Southeast) that I'd be able to pick the unit up from? That $750 freight charge on the C2 isn't my cup of tea.

Nice to see your wife getting into the host side. she was very knowledgeable. so I worked on a plating line for a company in Maine, we had chrome plating rectifiers that were water-cooled but not immersion type. They were made by a company named Dynapower. interested to know how you can put electrical stuff in a fluid? Also, have you ever considered spray foam insulation for cooling and to keep the heat in or out of your shed. sprayed on the walls for insulation. keep up the good work oh and what were you mining with those units? Bitcoin.

    • @missvosk
      @missvosk 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for the comment! Yes, we are looking into adding insulation and/or intake/outtake vents to help temperature and air circulation. This shed does have a radiant barrier as well, but we will definitely need something additional by the spring when temps start to rise. These are all Bitcoin miners :)

Do you ever have to clean or filter the coolant in a single or dual loop?

  • @dankoehler3157
    @dankoehler3157 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Looks like you still need to take some fluid out. You will get better cooling performance with the hot aisle set and configured to spec. Right now you're not getting as much hot aisle isolation without dripping over the weir edge.
A bucket and red solo cup and scoop out a half a cup at a time with no mess, until your hot aisle fluid is about 1-1.5" below the edge.

    • @missvosk
      @missvosk 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's not water! It's dielectric fluid, which is almost like an oil consistency.

  • @jingchak3232

I couldn't understand how you can pour the coolant liquid on the Miner.
Doesn't the liquid enter the miner and spoil the circuit board & fans and what it is going to do the LIVE electricity that is plugged in.
Could anyone explain this. Sorry I am new to this.

    • @missvosk

I purchased the C6 unit a month ago and am waiting for delivery. I chose this over the DCX due to the issues you had. I was really hoping to get a DB meter reading on the dry cooler though. I'm wondering about initial install though. You had an experienced team helping, I'm doing it by myself. I've tried reaching out on your forum but got no replies. I'm looking for anyone I can reach out to during the setup for advice. If there is any way I could get some (very minor) help in terms of just some questions during install that would be great. Depending on how this works out, I may be getting their BC10 or BC20 container solution for a rural property I have.

I've deployed a couple of the B6D's. The C6 is a simpler design with less things to have to worry about. Happy to help. Your electrician and them wiring to spec will be the only real complication. The C6 doesn't have the same pump hose vibration issues. Check my comments on the first B6D video as well, for info on that.

seeing you guys trying to get that plastic barrel of the truck made me think : youre lucky it didnt bust wide open upon landing on the ground , mightve been eazier (in hindsight) to get a longer hose on that dieselpump and empty the barrel while it was sitting in the bed
back on topic you want to make more bitcoin and youre thinking on expanding youre operation and run more miners
the newest antminer (the s21) has a hashrate of 200 at 3500 watts
(there faster versions but they use more power and might put you over the capacity of youre current grid )
at this moment i can buy a s21 here in the netherlands for about € 4469,28
the s19 does about 110ths at 3250 watt so youre making 660ths at 19500 watts
i think it be cheaper to upgrade youre current 6 to the newer s21 as the hashrate is 200 ths at 3500 watt so say you about at the max power you can use so you can run 5 of those and one at a lower power (or all at lower power ) and make 1000ths at 17500 watts , and use less power doing it
and you dont need to buy another submerging tank and hardware , oil yadahyadahyadah (guessing thats about 10000 right there and no 2nd tank means no extra electrics to run it ) and you still need to buy 6 more miners to run in it those are 22.506 euro together , so you pay 10.000 (euro) less for the 310 les extra terrahash per second but 13,85 per day less profit (means it takes about two years or so to turn that extra profit intoo a return on investment if you where to spend that extra 10000 dollar in material )
probably be up and running faster too as you only switch out the miners for newer ones
    Profit per day $ 12.83
    DayPool Fee $ 0.5539
    Mined/day Ƀ 0.0008148
    Power cost/Day $ 42.00
    Profit per week $ 89.84
    WeekPool Fee $ 3.88
    Mined/week Ƀ 0.005703
    Power cost/Week $ 294.00
    Profit per month $ 385.04
    MonthPool Fee $ 16.62
    Mined/month Ƀ 0.02444
    Power cost/Month $ 1,260.00
    Profit per year $ 4,684.64
    YearPool Fee $ 202.17
    Mined/year Ƀ 0.2974
    Power cost/Year $ 15.33 k
this was at the 0.10 cents a kW electric you mentioned , youre estimation was a bit off and youre profit seems to be based on 0.075 cents per kW
based on youre mentioned electric price it would be :
    Profit per day $ 23.33
    DayPool Fee $ 0.5539
    Mined/day Ƀ 0.0008148
    Power cost/Day $ 31.50
    Profit per week $ 163.34
    WeekPool Fee $ 3.88
    Mined/week Ƀ 0.005703
    Power cost/Week $ 220.50
    Profit per month $ 700.04
    MonthPool Fee $ 16.62
    Mined/month Ƀ 0.02444
    Power cost/Month $ 945.00
    Profit per year $ 8,517.14
    YearPool Fee $ 202.17
    Mined/year Ƀ 0.2974
    Power cost/Year $ 11.50 k
note that thats allmost twice the profit that you make today with the same cooling setup with less miners than youre running now (less heat produced ) and youre using less energy and a return on investment in about 2 years (?)
now to run those extra miners you need to upgrade youre grid , hey theres room on the grid now for a 6th s21 being dropped in the still open spot in the tank .... lets see here wat 6 of those puppies churn out :
    Profit per day $ 61.66
    DayPool Fee $ 0.6647
    Mined/day Ƀ 0.0009777
    Power cost/Day $ 4.14
    Profit per week $ 431.63
    WeekPool Fee $ 4.65
    Mined/week Ƀ 0.006844
    Power cost/Week $ 28.98
    Profit per month $ 1,849.85
    MonthPool Fee $ 19.94
    Mined/month Ƀ 0.02933
    Power cost/Month $ 124.20
    Profit per year $ 22.51 k
    YearPool Fee $ 242.60
    Mined/year Ƀ 0.3569
    Power cost/Year $ 1,511.10
and thats with only an extra 4000 for the extra 200th/s miner and the upgrade to the grid you needed anyway if you want to rin those 6 110 ths miners , makes you think doesnt it ......
allso it might get a better profit ratio if youre using solar panels to partly power the mining farm , you whont be feeding power back intoo the grid but on sunny days you could save on power usage
one panel produces around 1.5 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy per day.(0.15 cents),,,,,,,,,,,,,, hmmmm with the cost for electricity where youre at that might not be enough to offset the purchase of those
