Love Dire Straits. They are a great British rock band from the 70's-90's. Mark Knopfler is one of the best guitarists around. They have had so many hits including "Money For Nothing", "Brothers In Arms", "Telegraph Road", "Romeo & Juliet", "Private Investigations", "Twisting By The Pool", "So Far Away" etc. They don't have a bad song.

Sorry to say but you picked a bad version where they had like cut off the epic solo at the end. That solo is what makes the song so special and legendary!! You should do another reaction video where the entire solo is included. I don't blame you cause how would you know it was a bad version.
This is what annoys me about this song. The guitar solo at the end is my favourite guitar solo,ever. But radio DJ's seem to think that Mark Knopfler wrote it just for them to talk over. Consequently if I hear the song on the radio I have to change the channel, or switch it off to avoid me having to screaming at the radio when they talk over it or, like this video, they cut it off before it's finished. 😠

This song was timeless as soon as it came out. Now 40 years later it has proven itself over and over. I love seeing new generations hearing it the first time and watch them melt into it. Every instrument has it space and moves the song forward and it's still a ballad. Great for a road trip mix.

It is the recorded version that you hear. They would use playbacks back in the day on TV show such as Top of the Pops. The band had no choice in the matter.

The lack of a solo is not missed at all through the intricate subtleties of Mark Knopfler's amazing finger-picking on the Fender Stratocaster electric guitar as the lead guitar part. I couldn't agree more.....I always thought it was the ultimate vibe song. The pace, the rhythms, and Mark Knoeffler's unique style create, at least for me....such a good vibe and energy. Of course, like you, I may be biased because this song is part of a seminal memory from experiences I had in my yourh, during spring break...... Fort Lauderdale 1979. It was the blast of a lifetime, and hearing Sultans of Swing takes me right back to that time where, in memory, I am sitting on a small patch of grass along the edge of A1A (Ocean Blvd), passing a blunt between friends, cold beer in hand, watching the pretty girls strolling by as the sun sets behind us...One of the girls in our condo, walks up carrying her boom box and Sultans was playing. It was but a moment in time, but it was one of those perfect moments that chrystalize over time into precious happy memories!

This song plays close to the same vein as far as style. SKATEAWAY, INDUSTRIAL DISEASE, and of course, MONEY FOR NOTHING are hreat songs, too. Another suggestion is Taylor Dayne and her big voice singing SEND ME A LOVER. Something tells me you might really want to try it yourself. ❤️ Love your channel.

One of the greatest ever along with Telegraph Road. Try the Dire Straits Sultans of Swing and also Telegraph Road Alchemy Live concert version from 1983 please, you will be blown away. This song is a 10/10 to me but the Alchemy Live concert version is a 12/10.
