You are indeed fortunate to have such an adept off-camera prompter to guide you through live videos like this! You should bring them on to take a well deserved bow!!!
Long videos, but I like how it’s unedited and raw so I can see how other people’s workflows are. You have a wide varieties of accessories which I appreciate.
CY does some interesting 3-D printer upgrades, but this ring is a solution in search of a problem. Your grinder doesn't have a retention problem. All conical burrs have a buildup, because it uses gravity to advance the beans. The buildup is never substantial enough to block a significant amount of coffee from reaching the exit chute. Occasional blowing, brushing, vacuuming is all that's needed. I'm guessing the grounds you cleaned out were a tiny fraction of the total amount of coffee you put through that grinder, since it's last cleaning. It's a pretty, but useless, addition.
*The particles that get stuck at the top never get into your grinds.* This piece doesn't solve any problems. Instead were the materials that over time may ruin or color the taste those are the ones that are underneath the conical grinder removable sleeve.
Even cheaper solution: use 1 segment of a 2-ply toilet paper, and roll it tightly into a cylinder. Use it to wedge in the trough. You will need a 2nd roll and trim it to fill the trough. Finally use your finger to push it down flush with the surface before place in the hopper.

Wow. Then I think it’s time to change my grinder. Thanks

Made mine out of a piece of cardboard and it works perfectly.
Even better!

Were you posting a link to the seal ring plans?
The plastic piece is not helping. Useless. You still have to pump the cover and still , the coffee ground is less. ! A big no no!
Surely you will get bits of plastic in your grind overtime
I don't think so, the seal isn't even close to the burrs.
Plastic infused coffee is the new Third wave rave in coffee these days
