55 years old and haven't cried like this for years. The Bluey episode, home, your kids growing up, the woman you love, then that song, well it is astounding. I challenge anyone to watch Bluey 'The Sign' and if you fail to feel what its really like to be 'On Country' and with your family, then I really feel for you.
all the different versions of this song... the 'original', the bluey episode, the live performance with 400 singers, and this one.. are all so BEAUTIFUL
My husband and I have been separated for three years. We have reconciled, but live in different states now and have to decide if he moves here or our two children and I move there. The Sign came out while we were on a rare visit to him and I can’t tell you how hard we were hit by this song and the dynamic between Chili and Bandit ❤
Dear Meg, Thank you for helping our children grow up. Thank you for giving us adults something to be happy about, regardless of whether or not we have young children; For even though some may frown upon voice actors, saying they don't do anything but stand in a recording booth reciting dialogue, it seems as though only us fans can truly appreciate your work. Thank you for such poetic lyrics, and for a tune to keep us going in times when some of us may feel as though it isn't worth going through; when so much fails to inspire us in quite the same way. Because trust me: I should know it is so. Sincerely, Mike
My daughter loves. This song she’s 6 years old…. “Daddy play my song Meg Washington, “ then she has to play it for everyone she meets oh and she knows at least 60 % of the song. So adorable
"And then I start to break Into a billion pieces Oh, I shatter into constellations" The mental imagery of these lines, some of the most beautiful lyrics I've ever heard. As an aspiring writer, "I shatter into constellations" is my new gold standard.
Im brazilian, i saw bluey the sign with my son, and cryed with this song, it is amazing, touch our soul because of the letter… we are a ocean, we are constelation, when we hear our creator calling us in the morning we start to rise…. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
We all BAWLED and BAWLED at this scene in The Sign, and we've been listening to this piece tenderly since, like slowly peeling a bandage. Watching this was the first time+version when my 11yo did NOT automatically start tearing up (TBF I've fit in about a dozen more listens than they have). Thank you, Ms. Washington, for bringing this beauty into our world. 💙
The lyrics are absolutely beautiful and the composition is stellar. Whether you're here from Bluey or not, this is a stunning performance by a stunningly beautiful lyricist and musician. Well done mate.
The quiet Bluey opening trill notes to close the piece was such a fantastic touch. Thank you, Meg Washington, for your magic with this show and in life.
It's like muscle memory, the way I get choked up in this song. I'm just driving, I'm not really listening super closely even. My brain does the same thing with the planets composition as well 🫣
I just watched here from Brazil the episode that appears this song. Simply enchanted by the melody, I had to come here in YT search. Thank you so much!
No matter how many times I hear this song, it gets more and more beautiful every time. I love it, and everything in it, and the fact that it appears in bluey in such a beautiful moment just makes it that much more amazing! A beautiful song from a truly angelic voice
The lyrics to this song reminds me of my dad, once just a teacher at my school, who took me in when I was 16 as his own after years of abuse from my biological father. I’m 18 now, still very troubled, but I always pick flowers for dad for when he gets home from work. These lyrics are a perfect reflection of how I respond to my dad calling out to me when he gets home from work each day.
This song makes me cry every time I listen to it. It’s been stuck in my head since I first watched The Sign and I keep singing it now. Such a beautiful song!
Thank you so much for posting this. My daughter loves Bluey. And she loves piano. After the episode I was showing her how to play the song she so loved but now you have it here. She is inspired. It is a beautiful piece.
I may have bought this song immediately upon finding out about it from the Bluey episode. It could have been even before the episode dropped. Meg, you are so talented.
I've played this so often my daughter, who will be turning 3 soon, immediately says "Bluey" whenever she hears it. I've watched every version of this song performed and I get goosebumps every time.
Just noticed how much my daughters kept replaying this particular episode, and i joined in only to love it more.. such a beautiful song and an emotional episode!❤️
I was holding it together so well up until the end when she added the Bluey theme and I lost it and started sobbing… that happen to anyone else or just me?😅
Please please please publish sheet music for this song- for me, a tired Mum who teaches singing - ideally on musicnotes they will give you royalties! I hope the song takes off it really made the episode so magical.
Oh my goodness. Reading this has just made my day! I've been looking for a notated copy of this song. It's so beautiful! Thank you for the song and for making the music available!
God I cry so hard every time I listen to this. That scene got me right in my soft spot. Two kids 3 and 5 and we almost moved and I cannot tell you how much this song just sent me when I saw the ending of the sign. It’s embarrassing but feels so good. Thanks for an amazing song
I'm almost glad that i cry every few minutes from chronic depression, cuz everyone seems to be crying to this but its doing nothing for me, except a great vocal performance
4:50 STAHP! I can't take the Bluey theme being worked in! Seriously though, this song means so much to me already! The entire thing! For a reason that might seem hard to believe. I live in the US I didn't see The Sign until it came out on Disney Plus for the US. About 6 months ago in October I moved 1100 miles away from my family. I had been starting to regret the decision about a month ago. I kid you not, less than a week before I saw the episode. Before I even knew it was coming out. I was at my parents house for a visit and we started planning for me to move back. A few days later, on Sunday (when the episode came out) I watched Ghostbasket and then The Sign. I was on the verge of tears throughout the entire episode. Until Brandy showed up. I let out an audible gasp at the same time I paused the episode and started bawling. From then on, I was bawling or almost bawling til the end. When this song started playing and I recognized Meg's voice, I was ugly crying. I had to pause get up and run to the bathroom to avoid everyone seeing me cry. I was bawling for the rest of the episode. And the crying intensified when that slowed down version of the theme song played on the piano started playing. It hit me so hard, because of my current situation. I take it as The Sign that I'm doing the right thing by moving back to be closer to family. That's why I believe this song will always have a special place in my heart. Because of what it immediately meant to me the moment it started playing.
This song is so beautiful, I immediately teared up when listening to it during The Sign and I wondered how such a powerful, deep song could be part of a childrens show? (Though Bluey tends to tug on the deepest strings in our hearts so not too surprising there) But then I read your explanation about how you wrote this song from your heart during a dark time, trying to find the light, searching for hope. This song truly embodies those emotions. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece with us. 💙
Oh my gosh Yes! she/whoever her helper(s)/pr behind the channel actually went ahead and fixed the comments! When this performance got released a while back, no one could comment on it. Now we can! That's real good luck. But, we'll see. Because, this version of the performance for some reason has been uploaded in mono, not stereo. But... that's real bad luck! Or is it? Well, we'll see. If Meg sees this, then thank you. If it's the pr or helper or such, thank you whoever you are. Finally, can I just say, I'm a totally blind person, and, this song has legit made me cry, not only during the episode but as a standalone song itself. Will this version be released as a download on music services?
