    After your reply on your other video, I went searching for Iron Bias on the nox 800. Lo and behold, this vid showed up. Now I remember this is how I discovered your channel originally! Great How-To vids, now I need to sit down and watch them all 👍

      Awesome! I’ve made a how-to video on almost every aspect of the Equinox 800 that I could think of. Hopefully you find them helpful!

    Thanks for the clear and well explained video. I had no idea it was either F2 or FE2 utilised at any one time.

    Hiya Steve, your tutorials are a real help for new Nox 800 users like me. I am already reaping the rewards from these videos in spendable British coinage on cherry picking hunts with my Nox 800. I find your videos easier to follow and use than the updated Equinox series handbook I paid £28 from America. So thanks mate. Keep em coming. I am subscribed to 3 detecting channels. One UK based and two Aussie based. Yours is obviously one of the three. A must watch channel in my humble opinion. Keep em coming and I'll keep on watching 😉.

    I just went through this issue yesterday. Iron coming up in the 20s . Increasing FE did reduce the falling a lot . I did notice this only happens when the ground is wet due to recent rain. Just an observation because it doesn’t happen otherwise.

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Iron falsing is a tricky thing. Some sites seem to be worse than others, and wet ground definitely makes it worse again. All we can really do is listen to the machine, make adjustments as needed, and then dig targets we think might be worthwhile. There’s no exact science unfortunately. Good luck!

    F2 is best applied in ALL METAL MODE (per the manual).

    Hi, thank you for your helpful video. I been learning loads from you with my 600 model. I have a question. I use the field mode 2 all the time as I find quite alot of fine items like think buttons but in this mode would I be missing out of other items.? Thank you

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Stephen! Thanks for watching! You certainly won’t be missing anything larger than the small buttons you’ve already been finding. The different modes have different frequency bias
      weightings. Field 2 and Park 2 modes are biased towards higher frequencies, which are better for finding smaller targets with lower conductivity, such as small/thin gold chains and earrings etc. Of the object is larger, you certainly won’t be missing it.

      @@coilsandcoinsdetecting thank you. Ps the video of you lifting up the coil to identify the trash was really helpful. I do that all the time now and it saves me digging up all the drink cans

    Very nice and thorough explanation. One question I have is, does the Nox need to be in all metal mode to take advantage of iron bias settings? I’m assuming it does, I’m just not 100% sure. I only ask because I normally hunt in all metal but my wife doesn’t.

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment, and you raise a good question. My understanding is that the Iron Bias settings apply at all times, whether in All Metal mode or not. It’s primary purpose, as I understand it, is to help sniff out “good” non-ferrous targets in amongst the “bad” ferrous targets, and to reduce the falsing that irregular ferrous targets can produce.

    • @DetectingTheShore
      @DetectingTheShore 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@coilsandcoinsdetecting Interesting, so what you’re saying is, it’s sort of like having all metal mode on without hearing the iron grunts, it just discriminates them out? I need to add this to our arsenal. Again, great video. I’m glad I found this. 🤙

    Have they removed the Iron Bias F2 function on the 900? Can’t seem to access it on mine.

    Have you noticed if this affects depth, i.e. higher setting = less depth?

    • @coilsandcoinsdetecting
      @coilsandcoinsdetecting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally I haven't noticed any loss of depth at all, however that may well depend on the type of soil you're hunting in...

      They’re a great machine, but the 600 is just as good only without a few of the advanced settings. To be honest, the factory settings are usually fine in most situations anyway.
