What an extremely brave lady. How on earth do you rebuild your life after such an horrendous ordeal. The court sentencing was an insult to what that lady had to go through. Appalling justice system .
Really good actress who listened to the victim and portrayed her superbly! What a scary event to have happened during a day of shopping! We need cctv cameras everywhere. Stay strong, Jane! Thank you for sharing your story!
How would the judge have felt if Jane was his daughter??? The judge and court of appeal are totally disgusting NO RESPECT is what really hurts, this is what makes it soooo hard not to take the law into your own hands but that doesn't end well either he needs to be taken for a long walk of a short pier but as usual I hope the other prisoners carry out the justice he deserves Thank goodness Jane is a survivor ❤ from Australia
I’m aware police have made huge changes reguarding how they handle these ladies and had improvements to laws. BUT SO MUCH MORE NEEDS putting in place. No female should be afraid
Here in Turkey too, just a few months ago a taxi driver accepted a young guy to his taxi at a night time, pitying him for the pouring rain outside. The first thing that young man did was to shoot the driver to death and telling him in his ear "do not trust some people, if you trust, this is what will happen to you". The driver passed away unfortunately yet the criminal was charged. This case shocked our nation and we all became too insecure to even say hi to each other to a point. How could such little kindness be someone's punishment is still a puzzling question
My thoughts & prayers are with that brave courageous lady & for her peace of mind, I hope love & normality has returned to her life. A shocking thing to happen to an innocent young lady in a public carpark in broad daylight, even more shocking is the judicial system for giving that POS scumbag a slap on the wrist 4yr sentence, for those crimes with the threat of using a knife to kill & bury her in a grave shows he had pre meditated planning & intention therfore he should've got at least 30yrs with no parole. This country is now a laughing stock & has become a joke & a haven for criminals that play the system.
These cases are so sad and hard to listen to....especially with punishment in other countries 😮😮.... America has its MANY flaws with justice, however........ American sentences are USUALLY much harsher 😢😢..... bless this young woman, and may she heal
he did use the knife, ok he did not injure her by actually slashing or stabbing but he used that knife from the start, he used it for fear, and he used it for control in order to carry out an attack that will have had detrimental effects on this young lady for the rest of her life, this bright, strong and determined young lady ! massive respect to her and my heart goes out to people with her strength and courage to be failed by this joke of a legal system in the UK
Men do not ask women for help. Men seek out other men for help. Predators use the "hurt and helpless" tactic to get their victims. If a man asks you for help, get another man, tell him your dad is around the counter or just yell and run.
I would have screamed when he said get in. He wouldn't have done anything in front of the people around the store. Better to take my chances then get in the car
I remember seeing an FBI agent say "if they take you to a secondary location, then you are more likely to be killed". I think I would've screamed too, just because I'm pretty reactionary unfortunately.
Can you even imagine bringing like those men and women and NOT DO EVERY SINGLE DAMN THING IN YR POWER to save this poor 21yr lasses life 🫡🫡🫡 it’s obvious her life is gravelly in danger ‼️ she NEEDS YOU TO SAVE HER LIFE
This all happened in 2008. He's git to be out now, and who knows what hes done since hes been released. It's unforgivable what these 3 judges did. They have no idea the trauma that man caused this woman, and its disgusting.
If anyone asked me for help like this I would have automatically thought of Ted Bundy. Also never go to the secondary crime scene. It's a shame we live in this world, but we do, and people need to be taught what to do in these situations.
Yup I’ve always heard, never allow yourself to get taken. It was also only a knife, couldn’t she hit him with the bad and ran off screaming, for sure people would hear it and he would of run/driven off
He kidnapped and raped her, and after 5 years, he got set free. I believe that him threatening her by pointing to a freshly dug grave should be considered an aggravating factor in sentencing. Bless you, Jane. You are so brave.
Unbelievable 7yrs, That's it? This scumbag would have gotten at least 25yrs here in America. But the smarts of this young girl is miraculous and I hope she got therapy in order to lead a happy life.
Jane is truly an amazing woman. I am sorry that she had to go through that. And. .. 4-5 years for destroying a life! I bet if those who made those laws went through what she did, 1) they would NOT be as brave (as Jane) .. and 2) the sentence would be life without parole!
Very brave young lady but extremely sad our so called justice system failed her terribly. I do hope she is rebuilding her life and learning to trust again 🥰
I would have said no forthwith. Once when i was 24 some random man came up to me in a mall parking lot saying something about did this come off of ny car. He had something in his hands. I told him dont take a step further, got in my car and drove away. When i got home, i found out he had indeed taken something off my car tire.
'Jane' is a very brave young lady. Sadly what that monster did to her will always be with her. While he does 5years 4months??!! He'll do it again, will it be a young women or a child? If men had this fear of attack they would make sure the monsters would remain behind bars British so called justice is a joke. Wishing 'Jane' the best life she can have, not sure what thats going to be like. She'll feel unsafe for many years
@Littlemouse884 you are aware that it's not a gender issue. Men can be subject to sexual attacks as well as women. There are sex offenders that are female, Vanessa George, to name one for you.
The problem is that the vast majority of people do understand how a young woman feels after such an horrific ordeal. They also want the perpetrators locked away until they are too old to repeat the offense. However, judges are not normal people. They make their judgements arbitrarily, despite our expectation that they will use reason and understanding of the impact on victims. Increasingly, judges and courts are proving just how distant they are from the community they are supposed to serve.
In The U.K. the prison sentances are focused on the criminal. Where I live it's about the victims and society as a whole . This is why where I live we have extremely long prison sentances and the death penalty. It's not to deture crime as some would believe. The long prison sentances are so the victim can feel safe. The death penalty is so society is safe and the public isn't burdened with giving them free room, board, and medical care for the remainder of their life. It's whats best for the public as a whole. Not what's best for the criminal. People like that should never walk free and should never feel sunshine or breathe fresh air again.
Four years in prison for abduction and rape is a joke...
Just ridiculous.
And you know if it was a judge’s daughter or mother or sister this happened to, that person would never step out of prison a free man again. 🤮
true, its NOT the English law but the law in the UK...., are getting it?
What a fantastic police force. What a disgusting sentence
Oh yes the police was all over this.
These light sentences are despicable and indefensible.
What an extremely brave lady. How on earth do you rebuild your life after such an horrendous ordeal. The court sentencing was an insult to what that lady had to go through. Appalling justice system .
I’m so so proud of this lady. HUGE RESPECT GAL 👊👊
Bring back capital punishment.
Really good actress who listened to the victim and portrayed her superbly! What a scary event to have happened during a day of shopping! We need cctv cameras everywhere. Stay strong, Jane! Thank you for sharing your story!

Such a brave strong young lady, I hope she’s now well and I wish her all the best for the future ❤️❤️ The police in this case did outstanding work 👍👍
What's the world come to when you can't, even consider doing a "random act of kindness" nowadays, without wondering if you'll be abducted.
Here in the USA it’s been that way for quite sometime.
Here in Turkey too, just a few months ago a taxi driver accepted a young guy to his taxi at a night time, pitying him for the pouring rain outside. Her story may help save another woman. Healing to her.

If a man ever asks for yoye help tell him to ask a man. JUST say no.
Sad how we have all learnt to fear men so much but they have bought it onto themselves
@@Littlemouse884 SOME men have that’s for sure! Sadly though until we develop ESP then we have to assume the worst.

7 years is just ridiculous -- what's to keep him from reoffending?????!!!!!
Disgusting behaviour by that creep and disgusting sentence. What a joke🤮
The justice system, certainly has a lot to answer for
Men do not ask women for help. Men seek out other men for help. Predators use the "hurt and helpless" tactic to get their victims. If a man asks you for help, get another man, tell him your dad is around the counter or just yell and run.

Absolutely!
Yup same
I remember seeing an FBI agent say "if they take you to a secondary location, then you are more likely to be killed". I think I would've screamed too, just because I'm pretty reactionary unfortunately.
Those are my first thoughts too but what I would all do in those circumstances of extreme threat and fear is thankfully unknown to me.
I think I would too, but then when fear creeps in, not sure what I’d do.
Can you even imagine bringing like those men and women and NOT DO EVERY SINGLE DAMN THING IN YR POWER to save this poor 21yr lasses life 🫡🫡🫡 it’s obvious her life is gravelly in danger ‼️ she NEEDS YOU TO SAVE HER LIFE
God bless this brave woman. 💜

Poor girl, she's so brave. I hope he keeps away from her and that she's safe.
Omg am so sorry what happened to you you are so brave now live your life darling I hope he rots in hell xx😢
You are a brave lady.
He kidnapped and raped her, and after 5 years, he got set free. I believe that him threatening her by pointing to a freshly dug grave should be considered an aggravating factor in sentencing. Bless you, Jane. You are so brave.
God this is so hard to watch that poor women
An idiot girl-what do u want from me?- what could he want!
.u said he have must confident, and believe that he was going to get away with it..bcoz 4yrs in prison is like nothing to this man..
Unbelievable 7yrs, That's it? This scumbag would have gotten at least 25yrs here in America.

So did they ever investigate the shallow graves on his property?
SERIOUSLY. In the carpark, at a shopping centre. Your not safe anywhere. 😮😮
* you're, not your!
Disgusting state of our justice system on display here, an absolute embarrassment for this country
I would have said no forthwith. Once when i was 24 some random man came up to me in a mall parking lot saying something about did this come off of ny car. He had something in his hands. I told him dont take a step further, got in my car and drove away. When i got home, i found out he had indeed taken something off my car tire.
We get it, it’s about power and control sheesh how many times was that man going to repeat the same thing over and over?
Well it's because the UK judicial system and government are full of such sexual depravity they wont bring down harsher penalties.
Sad

Yes absolutely. She would have been traumatised
You are aware that sexual assault rape does not exclusively affect women. Women can also be the perpetrators of such offences look at Vanessa George
@Laurax-v2n whule that may be true it's so incredibly rare and pales in comparison to what men do
@Littlemouse884 you are aware that it's not a gender issue. Men can be subject to sexual attacks as well as women. There are sex offenders that are female, Vanessa George, to name one for you.
What a creep

He was doing a Ted Bundy by pretending he needed help
How stupid must be a woman to even help a man??

There is no excuse for this man.
There is...he's human 🤷🏻♂️
brilliant documentary. sentencing for crimes against women or sex crimes in general are too low.
He used a Ted Bundy tactic. He prob asked more than one woman help him. If anybody makes you feel uncomfortable don’t have to be nice.
What kind of hell system is that? This lady she got no justice , if the judge and family will get raped he or she might change the sentence.
Interesting case
Thank you Jane, I will pray for you🫂💞
The justice system sucks.
What sentence does tax fraud get you?
Probably way worse.
😢
If this had happened in the United States, he would’ve had access to a gun!!
The actress looks like an actor in Home and Away.
I always wonder why they ask their abducter what they want.clearly ,I wouldn't want to know the answer..It would be obvious..
And the judge was a man, no doubt.
She should tell her perpetrator that she will be waiting for him this time.
Evil beast
Its a shame u try, u realy try 2 b a nice person. N this Happens.
I’m somewhat disconcerted by the Psychologist seeming to be enjoying his job a little too much.
don't do anything for men
Great police work, poor judgment
They could of gotten a better actress this one was so wooden, I started to not give a toss about Jane
Don't like guys eyebrows. First minute
